Tuesday, May 31, 2005

Ah, Tuesday the first day of the work week.... at least for this week anyway.
It's a Bright sun-shiny morning....   so it looks like we're in for a GREAT day here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania.....
I don't normally post on a holiday but if you didn't see it, I did post yesterday as Betty's son John has been waiting on a liver and DID receive one over the weekend.... More details on yesterday's post....
I was able to get a lot of work done yesterday and we have most of the end of the month stuff done like
Once A Month Association newsletter, Member Benefit Directory, statements, and checks etc., done. Yep all of those will be in today's mail...
Thank goodness, because that's a job and a half. I always feel good when it's done for the month. I do enjoy doing it however.. and I do enjoy writing the Newsletter each month.....
********************************
We received a call from John's wife Debbie this morning and it seems they've put John back in surgery as they feel he's bleeding too much and are going in for a "look see"..... I'll let you know what happens....
********************************
Lot's of action on the mighty Susquehanna River that flows through our back yard over the weekend. Plenty of canoe and kayak trips going down the river. I think a lot of folks plan their trips for the Memorial Day weekend. It was just a little chilly yesterday for Memorial Day I think, (at least around our area). We passed a public pool and there was no one in it...  (Some opening!) This morning on the extended weather forecast they are calling for 80 degree days in the VERY near future so I'm sure the public swimming pools will "make up" for the slack Memorial Day weekend.
********************************
Mail Order Stuff
I heard from an old mail order friend in Saturday's mail; George McGuire in Stuyvesant, New York.... I haven't heard much from him since he stopped publishing his magazine, "The Word Of Mouth". He's a GREAT mail order writer and puts out some very controversial articles. It seems he may have discontinued his magazine but he still puts out a "Word Of Mouth" Newsletter. Everything this guy writes is interesting. If you'd like to see some of his work, write him, drop a buck in the envelope along with the request for a copy of his newsletter, you won't be disappointed. Here's his address: George McGuire, 759 Rt. 25, Stuyvesant, NY 12173
*********************************
I've got to finish up the stuff for the
Once A Month Association to get in today's mail, so for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Tuesday!!!

Monday, May 30, 2005

I really wasn't going to put up a post today as it is Memorial Day, but I just had to put a little something up about Betty's son John who has been so ill lately. I know a lot of friends and family are checking out this site to see just how he is doing.
As I reported on Friday they had flown John to Philadelphia from Harrisburg to the University of Penn Hospital to prepare him for and await his operation for a liver transplant.
Well, it seems early Sunday morning, about 2 AM they received a liver for John! They spent the next several hours accessing and and making sure it was a "compatible" organ for him. Sometime yesterday, Sunday, I'm not sure exactly what time they began, John underwent a 4 to 6 hour operation and received a new liver! So far he's doing fine!
Today Betty talked to John's wife, Debbie, and John is still doing fine and is improving by the minute. He's still, of course, in the ICU but he's talking and even doing some joking....
To give you an idea on Friday, although John finally understood he was in the hospital, he could barely talk and could not really understand everything that was spoken to him. He hasn't smiled in several weeks, which he, according to Debbie, he took care of this morning as she said that John had a big smile on his face.
It's really amazing now that the new liver is filtering out the toxins, that were literally destroying his body, it is now doing that job again and John is quickly returning to his old "self!" "That a boy John-John!!!!"
Of course we'll all rooting for John to keep healing and get back his health. Our main concern now is infection. Hopefully he will escape that and be back on the road to health before we know it!
Sorry for going on and on but we are so happy for John and Debbie, (and ourselves).....
********************************
Things went pretty well over the weekend considering everything that was going on. All the phone calls in the middle of the night and all day with everyone keeping each other "up-to-date" on John's condition.....
I did manage to get some work done, here in the home office. We were going to go down to Philly yesterday ourselves, but I wasn't feeling up-to-par myself so we opted to wait out the results here at home.
Actually it turned out to be a GOOD idea as we would not have been able to see John anyway. I think we'll take a trip down maybe Wednesday or Thursday.... That way will be able to see John hopefully out of the ICU and in a room. We're really looking forward to it..
At any rate, the end of the month "stuff" must go out in tomorrow's mail so I'll be working on the
Once A Month Association stuff, like the newsletter, Member Benefit Directory, statements, and checks etc., this afternoon....
**********************************
That's if for today.... I hope you are not at work and having a good Memorial Day. I think Betty & I will take a couple of hours and go out and eat....  Other than that I plan to get some work done as I want to go to Philly some day this week.....
Take care and have a GOOD one!!!!
Sorry, I didn't get a joke sheet together for today, but I will have a new one up tomorrow with the daily post.....

It's another sunny, absolutely beautiful morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in central Pennsylvania and supposed to go up into the 80s!
Yep looks like we're in for nice weather this weekend!
It was so nice last evening that I took my laptop out on the back deck to work. As you can see by the picture on the left it was just that, beautiful!
I was out there until it was almost dark. I didn't want to leave to come back in to my office. Betty called me to eat supper and I think that's the only reason I came back in. The next time, probably tomorrow, when I go out there again, I'd better put the umbrella up on the table because when I was working, a bird flying over did his business on one of the envelopes I was working on. I wouldn't want one of them to go on my computer keyboard!
I guess I should expect that working outdoors.......
It was so peaceful that it was tough keeping my mind on my work. I looked out on the water and almost over at the island was a couple of folks in a canoe and the water was so nice and calm they were paddling up river!
Look on the left, just about right in the middle of the picture you'll see the canoe...  I had to take this one with my zoom lens...  The Island is pretty far away from our back deck......
Well, after I snapped this one it WAS back to work, honest!  I wouldn't want you to think I was "goofing off"......
*********************************
Those of you who are keeping up on Betty's son, John.... the latest is, he's doing fine, but at the hospital in Philadelphia they are having trouble feeding him and feel he may have some restriction in his esophagus. Should food be accidentally re-routed to his wind pipe he may develop an infection. Believe me, if you have ANY kind of infection, the hospital is the LAST place you want to be!
Betty will be traveling down to see him on Saturday along with his wife, Debbie and his brother, Dizzy. Me, I'll be sitting this trip out as after going to the hospital up here in Harrisburg to visit John every day for about a week I'm really behind with my work. I'll be playing "catch up" here in my home office most of the day.
Of course if we get a call that John has received the new liver he's on the list for, I'll be headed to Philly as well..... I'll sure want to be there for that!  Hang in there John-John.... we're all rooting for you.
***********************************
With so much going on at the hospital around here lately I thought it may be appropriate to pass along to you a GREAT site for helping anyone with any kind of medical problems..  Hopefully you won't need it but you may want to browse anyway... Bookmark it and pass it along.
Virtual Hospital
The Virtual Hospital is a service of the University of Iowa. It contains a wealth of health-related information.
Search for information by topic, symptom, body location or medical specialty. Then, link to articles to learn more about health conditions.
Most of the information is aimed at adults. But you’ll also find articles that specifically address pediatric health. So parents will find this helpful. Most importantly, articles on prevention will help keep you and your loved ones healthy.
Doctors’ understanding of medical conditions changes regularly.
Fortunately, the Virtual Hospital features a news section. The monthly updates will keep you abreast of advances in the medical field.

Believe it or not today it's sunny and it's supposed to go up into the 70s today here in central Pennsylvania.
We're at that time of the year, here now, at the Blue Bird Cottage that I'm mowing the grass what seems like every other day. Especially when I don't mow it all at once. I usually mow around the house one day and then when I get to mow again, I'll do the "lower 40" down along the river.... It kind of breaks it up for me, (the old man), if you know what I mean....  It's spring time that's for sure....
**********************************
Here's a great site that may interest you..
Have you ever wondered how long you’ll live?
It’s impossible for anyone to know for sure. But you can get an idea based on your lifestyle.
The Longevity Game will ask you 12 easy questions. Based on your answers, it calculates your life expectancy.
There’s more to this than just fun. If you don’t like the answer you get, change your answers. Your life expectancy will automatically update.
You’ll see how exercise and a healthy diet will extend your life. We often hear that certain health factors shorten one’s lifespan. The Longevity Game shows you how much.
I recommend that everyone give this a spin. And if you’re encouraging a family member quit smoking or lose weight, it’s a must. This can be a great motivator for change.

Oh! here's a PS for today for those of you who have been watching Betty's son John's progress. John arrived safely at the Pennsylvania University Hospital in Philadelphia yesterday afternoon. His wife and brother drove down yesterday morning and called several times throughout the day to keep Betty apprised on John's condition. He seems to be doing much better down there than he was here in Harrisburg at the  Osteopathic Hospital. That's GREAT news!!!  Hang in there John-John, we're all rooting for you!!

I still have piles of "stuff" on my desks to get done but I think Betty and I are gaining on the bulk mail.... so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Thursday!!!

It's another rainy morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania. (Surprise, Surprise!)
Wow! what a full day yesterday turned out to be.... We spent all morning until yesterday afternoon at about 2:15 PM when the ambulance finally showed up at the hospital to transport Betty's son John to the Hospital in Philadelphia by helicopter. The ambulance picked him up at the Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, and took him to the Pennsylvania State Police barracks to where the helicopter was waiting for him. Within 40 minutes they where at the hospital in Philly that would normally take a car about 2 and a half hours...  Ah, modern transportation..... ain't it the best?
I know John at this point in the game didn't give a darn one way or the other.. Hopefully we'll hear something good happening to him down there.. We're happy he's there but it is a bit further to go to visit him! (Quite a bit!)
************************************
Because of all of the excitement with John the work in this office has slowed to an almost "stand still." Now, however Betty and I can plow into things today and get things moving and and make things happen.
In addition to catching up with all of the mail we'll be working on assembling a bulk mail as well..  I must do a lot of printing before that happens and Betty will be folding and assembling as she usually does...  We're long over do for a good bulk mail this month for many reasons but hopefully we'll manage to get out an extra one before the end of this month as well.
************************************
It's been a regular "Roller Coaster" around here with our new Pre-Launch downline builder for the Elements program and we're headed down that first big hill on the Coaster and we're still building speed and momentum!!  We're in for a very exciting ride and I'm really looking forward to it as we still have well over two months before this ride will be over! Lot's of folks, by the end of this Summer will have a nice commission check arriving at their mail boxes each and every month and it will make me feel good that I was partially responsible for it. Yep, it's going to be the RIDE of our lives!
*************************************
We've been seeing this one pair of Canada geese, (No it's not Canadian geese, it's Canada), stopping in our back yard. It's a good spot for them to get out of the mighty Susquehanna River that runs through our back yard. The thing with this pair is this year they only have one some gosling. Just one...  Normally most of them have at the very least a half dozen or more. I guess because they only have one, they are EXTRA protective of it. I've been trying to get a picture of them to put up here but I can't even get near enough for a shot with my "zoom" lens. I'm still going to keep at it though....  They're really funny and you'll get a kick out of this "family."
***************************************
Can you believe that they called Jan Leno to testify at the Michael Jackson trial yesterday?
After cracking Michael Jackson jokes for months, Jay Leno played it straight for the most part Tuesday at the pop star's child molestation trial, testifying that the boy at the center of the case sounded scripted over the telephone but never asked for money.------  Read the whole story here..  It's actually funny and worth the time..... Give it a shot...
****************************************
Well, by the look of the piles on my desks I REALLY must get back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!!!

It's another rainy morning and another chilly one at that....
We in for a pretty good day around here though and I'm really looking forward to it..  I haven't had a good full day's work in the office since last week.
We made my doctor's appointment yesterday and ate lunch and came home...  By this time I'm ready to "buckle down".....  Then we received a phone call from Betty's daughter-in-law Debbie, John's wife. It seems like John's condition has degraded so fast that his doctor has ordered him to be flown by helicopter from Harrisburg to Philadelphia, PA.....  So we ran back down to the hospital to give him our well wishes and see him off. We were there most of the afternoon as we were not sure of when he would leave.... Then in the evening they informed us that the trip was put off until today....  Oh well, we'll have to see how late that will take place as Betty wants to make another trip down there today.... That's the latest on John-John... We're all pulling for him!
********************************
Looks like gasoline prices are on their way back down.....  I'm not sure how far, but they still have a long way to go to get down where they should be... I'm not even sure that will EVER happen again....
In my experience once the gasoline companies see they can get away with higher prices, it's usually not to long until they shove them back up and keep them there...  Read more about the falling gasoline prices here.

Build Web site traffic
It seems everyone has a Web site these days. If you own a business, it is practically a necessity.
Unfortunately, it can be a chore getting visitors to your site. The fact that you build a site doesn’t mean people will find it. It takes a while for it to appear in search results.
So, promote your site. You can use directory sites to build up incoming links. You’ll get more visitors and a higher ranking in Google search results.
If this sounds confusing, visit the site below. It offers a quick lesson on how this works. Plus, you’ll find practical advice on getting links to your site. But that’s not all! It even lists sites that might link to yours.
TO VISIT THIS SITE, GO HERE:

If you have your own home business, this site could really help you boost the traffic to your site.... Don't pass it up.....

Well, yesterday was Monday and sure enough as I mentioned yesterday, it IS my biggest mail day...  I received quite a bag full. It's cloudy, cold, and rainy here this morning at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania.... It's supposed to rain for the next few days...
I'm going to lose most of this morning as I have another doctor's appointment. It just my GP and it's mostly to discuss one of my problems..  Nothing radial but a sure way to eat up time. Hopefully we'll be back here in the office before noon.  At least that's what I'm shooting for as I have a ton of "stuff" to get done and also, today is Monday...  That means I should get quite a pile of mail today. Monday's are my biggest mail days.
Talking about Doctor's appointments and medical "stuff", Here's an invaluable medical resource:
The Merck manual is one of the most respected sources of medical information. It’s also one of the best-selling medical texts around.
Now you can access the Merck Manual online for free. (The only thing better than trustworthy health information is FREE trustworthy health information!)
You can search by disease or condition in a number of categories. Then pull up the information you need to understand the condition and treatment.
There are also multimedia presentations.
Access videos of medical procedures, audio files and photographs. Additionally, animations will help you understand specific concepts.
But that’s not all. You can view anatomical drawings and read about medical tests. Then, once you’re done, learn how to pronounce all the difficult medical terms!
TO VISIT THIS SITE, GO HERE: www.merck.com/mmhe

Here's another item I wanted to call to your attention as if you visit back here often enough you'll hear me bitch about the guys and gals that run our country.. Now here's something "concrete" to bitch about:
The low-down on congressional travel!
In the past 4 and one-half years, members of the U.S. House and Senate have taken more than 4,800 trips. The total cost of these trips was more than $14 million.
So who’s footing the bill? Corporations and outside interest groups.
Congress is allowed to accept reasonable travel expenses for legitimate reasons.
Unfortunately, this is often abused on Capitol Hill. And the ethical implications are staggering.
At this site, you can learn how much your representative and senators have accepted in travel expenses. And you can see how they compare to their colleagues. I found it very, very interesting.

(Gee.... I wonder why fuel costs are so high! Hmmmmmmmm........)

Those of you who are in our new Pre-Launch downline builder for the Elements program are being forewarned as I'll be putting out a "News Update" toward the end of this month how the program is doing and tips on promoting it. Those of you who I have Emails for will get the "Updates" first so if you did not give me your Email when you sent in your original application, please Email me your Email Address A.S.A.P.!!! Thanks.... (Wow! that's a lot of Emails in one small paragraph!)

T.G.I.F.
It's a cloudy morning and a bit rainy here at the Blue Bird cottage in Central Pennsylvania and is supposed to rain off and on all day long..  Looks like we're in for a GREAT day here at my home office though. At least once I get back home.
I'm headed off to my GP Doctor's office for blood tests this morning...  Actually it won't take too long but it's long enough and far enough away that it will screw up the whole morning. So after the doctor's visit we'll probably stop for a late breakfast and then we'll stop at the hospital to see Betty's son John...  We're hoping that John will be in better shape than he was the last time we saw him, day before yesterday.
Once back home I'll have the rest of the day to get some much needed work done and hopefully some mail ready for tomorrow's mailing.

If you're already in the mail order business and you're wondering if it's a good idea to "slack off" on your Summer advertising, then click here and read my Report, "Does It Pay To Operate A Mail Order Business In The Summer Time?" Believe me that Summer is just too darn short to restart your advertising campaigns. Sometimes, in some publications, it takes a couple of months to get your ads in print! At any rate, this report is not that "huge" and may give you some ideas, so give it a "look see."

As the weekend is here, and you may have an extra few minutes, here's another "small" report to check out. "Have You A Plan For Succeeding?" This short article will give you a little information about what I, myself went though when I started my home business...

You can find much more help and information at my main site: www.homebucks.com Take a little time and surf around in there.... Should be plenty of ideas for you if you're thinking of your own home business or if you are already in your home business.

It's another great, sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania.
***********************************
Well, last night Vonzell got the Ax on The American Idol and it's now between Carrie and Bo. Now the "almost famous" Vote for the Worst.com site must think that Carrie, (my choice by the way), is the worst one of the two that are left as they are encouraging everyone to vote for her.
I'd like to think the Idol competition is on the "up and up" but so far this site has called the shots and they been pretty much on target. They said just a couple of weeks ago, that if your choices for your idol was Anthony or Vonzell to forget it as they were not going to win and here it is two weeks later and "sure nuff" those two are out of the competition!
So if you're like us, Betty & I and "into" the idol show, be sure and check out Vote for the Worst.com for some unbiased opinions. They even have a place there to enter your Email address to keep up to date on all the latest happenings.

The family member of Betty's that I was talking about yesterday is John, her son. John has to be moved to the hospital last evening until he gets some of his "vim & vigor" back. Take care, John and get back on your feet!
************************************
I was on the Conference Call on Tuesday night for the Elements Company.... I was literally "bowled over" by the new announcements about the company's plans to actually sign up downline, paying members, for people who decide to upgrade their positions in the Company! (For no charge, you know, FREE!) I now must say honestly that the Elements Company is THE best home opportunity business that I've EVER seen in my 23 years in this business!
Incidentally this is the business that I'm running the Pre-Launch downline builder for. With the Pre-Launch downline builder you can build yourself a downline before you invest ONE NICKEL in the main company. If you've EVER thought of starting yourself a part time or full time business from your home, you owe it to yourself and family to check this business out. For gosh sakes as I've written about so often in the past, DON'T depend on Social Security to take care of you in your old age. Many who have done just that, are living in poverty and some are eating dog food! Make some plans now to protect yourself and loved ones and you'll have your own residual check coming in when you need it when you cannot or no longer want to work. At the rate this company is growing and depending on what you can afford to invest in advertising, it shouldn't take that long, (a year perhaps), to expect a check of over 1,000 a month and that's talking conservatively! Check it out!

Oh, one more thing.....  I don't like commenting on religion or politics, but as you know I do from time to time anyway.
I'm sure by now that you've heard about American Interrogators were reported to have "flushed" the Koran down a toilet. Now they say that it was a falsehood and it did not actually happen.
I must agree, if it did happen, (which I hope it did not), it was terrible as the Koran is a holy book to many people.
As a result of this accusation, Afghans rioted and folks were killed an many, many wounded. It's a "black mark" for sure against America and it's citizens. However.....  Let's remember that although the Koran is a holy book it's JUST A BOOK! Just like the Christian's Bible..... THEY ARE JUST BOOKS!!!! Neither are worth killing anyone over or hurting anyone. Get a "Grip" and GET OVER IT!!!!

I spent most of the afternoon working on John & his wife Debbie's computer and got next to nothing done, here in my own office, so as you can imagine, I have a ton of work to get caught up on. So as I look at the piles on my desks, I'm afraid for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Thursday!!!

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Central Pennsylvania and supposed to go up to 72 degrees today. A typical nice Spring day!
Looks like we'll be headed out this afternoon for awhile as a family member needs help with their computer. I screw around on the side sometimes helping people get their computers up and running and keeping them that way. In this case her husband is very ill and her company is allowing her to do some of her work at home so she can care for him, so it's pretty much an emergency. Hopefully it won't be too much trouble and we'll have her computer up and running this afternoon and install the software that she needs from work to do her job....  Sounds like a fun afternoon, right?
Well I think it's great that something like that can even happen.... as a few years ago it would be unheard of for someone to be able to do work from their home and still keep their job.

The sun keeps peeking through here in Central Pennsylvania so it looks like we're in for a GREAT day!  I know I'll enjoy it, that's for sure!
Now, I know for SURE that Spring has arrived as the geese from the river are starting to stop in with their "little ones"...  I haven't seen any with a big family, (I've seen some with over a dozen small ones in the past). The several I've seen in the last couple of days only have one or two. I did see a pair that had 3 through. The picture is on the left... They are really skittish as the little ones look like they were just hatched not long ago, and were on their way AWAY from me when I snapped the picture, but if you look close you can see the little ones.... All three of them!
When the geese start showing up with their little ones, I KNOW Spring is finally here.
We had a pretty good day yesterday as we had a few errands to run and stopped out for a nice lunch at our favorite Chinese Restaurant and to see our Chinese friend that is manager there, Jason, (Lan Tian). For a young fellow, (26 yrs.), he's smart as a whip and I swear at times he knows more about what's happening in the world than I do and I consider myself pretty much of a "news hound". When the Chinese are young, in school, they are schooled in English but Jason tells me it's a lot different when actually holding a conversation with an American. He's been attending a school that teaches English the last couple of months and you can tell he's speaking a lot better. It's a joy to talk to him and find out a lot about the "real" world. This guy grew up in China and when he left home he went to Japan and worked for over a year at a service station, then came to the U.S. and landed in California.. He traveled around for awhile and ended up in Kentucky where he worked for a few years and down, I think in Florida, as well. Then to New York City and finally here, in our area. He's been around more than me, in the good old U.S.A., and I was born here! He taught himself how to drive and got a drivers license from Kentucky. He wants to become a citizen when he learns enough English. I was, for some reason, under the impression that aliens didn't pay income taxes until they became citizens but apparently that's a bunch of baloney as Jason paid his income taxes last month. I hope he stays in our area for awhile, (he's been here almost a year), but knowing him, he'll probably be off to do something else before too long. He's very ambitious.
We stopped at the library on the way home and I bought some movies they had on sale. I got some great deals on some we've never watched. The only thing is they are VHS format and not DVD. So after we watch them, I'll probably sell them at a yard sale this Summer and give someone else a good deal.
********************************
As yesterday was Monday I received a ton of mail that I haven't finished sorting as of yet. So far I've received plenty of applications for the new Pre-Launch downline builder for the Elements program. Hot Dog!  This Pre-Launch is really taking off and we'll have plenty of folks to join the main program, Elements, when the Pre-Launch is over at the end of July!
I bought some more leads, (opportunity seeker names and addresses), from TJT Marketing Associates for my new Pre-Launch program and I'm REALLY getting some good reaction from it! This guy REALLY does has the latest and best names around!
Well, the piles of work and especially the big pile of mail is staring at me from my desks so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Central Pennsylvania. Not a bad day at all to start our brand new week!
Finally, the state has gotten around to spraying the mighty Susquehanna River, (that runs through our back yard), for gnats, (black flies)! I told you last week how bad the little devils were already this year. I'm hoping within a couple of weeks most of them will be a memory. The spraying does not eradicate them but sure does cut down the population of them! At least it makes them a heck of a lot easier to live with.
If you look at the picture on the left you can see the helicopter, almost dead center, on the picture, and the spay coming out beneath it. (Click on the picture for a larger view!)
It sure will be much better working in the yard, that's for sure!
I thought I'd get a lot done over the weekend..  What's that old adage about "don't make plans too far ahead?" Well, yesterday morning I went out and "blew" off the deck with the power blower and when I came in Betty said that she had received a call on my phone that her phone was ringing busy all the time. Of course it was out of order so I started checking it out. I found the problem in the wiring. There was a short, I had found the Trouble, (the good news!) (The bad news), it was inside a wall. I traced it back to where I remember was a junction block that was in the ceiling of my office. I tore all the trim off and a large sheet of wood paneling of the ceiling to get to the block. It was a mess and had taken me hours just to get to there. I ran a new wire from the block to the junction box where the phone gets plugged in and that should have cured all the problems but in my case, nothing is EVER simple. I ended up getting a retired phone repairman, a friend of ours, to bring his equipment over and do some more checking and he found a short in the wiring going out to the outside bell on the back porch as well as the original short.... We disconnected the wire going to the bell and it seemed that now all was okay...  So I re-connected her phone and all is working well. By this time, it's about 8 PM and I put up the paneling on the ceiling but was too beat to finish putting up all the trim etc..  I cleaned up the tools, ran the sweeper and when I finally wrapped it up, it was 10 PM. Talk about an entire day wasted! I finally downloaded my email and took care of the most urgent, closed down the computers and headed for the bath tub..  What a day! So that was most of my weekend... I sure hope yours was much better.
Now, this morning, as I'm REALLY not used to all that physical work, I swear that every bone and muscle, (whatever muscle is left), in my body hurts! REALLY hurts!!!!
I'm afraid the only work I'm going to be doing today is OFFICE WORK! To be honest I don't feel fit for any other kind of work. It's going to take a couple of days to recuperate that's for sure!
I didn't get ALL the mailings done that I wanted to get done, but am working on some this morning that I hope to get into today's mail.
AND with that in mind, it's back to work for me, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

T.G.I.F.
Wow! Friday the 13th! Watch out today! Must you? Check out Friday the 13th!
It's a beautiful sunny morning here in Central Pennsylvania but a very chilly one! It went down into the upper 30s last night. Brrrrrrr.......  It was really cold here in the cottage when we got up as I had shut down the stoker the other day when it went up to 83 degrees around here. We had to light our kerosene heater to "take the chill off".... and warm it up a bit... It's only supposed to reach the lower 60s today and will be a couple of days until it warms up again around here....
This is why I like the seasons here in Central Pennsylvania...  I kind of like the cool nights and nice days.....  It sure breaks up the monotony of being either cold or hot all the time. I know sometimes, not too often I envy my friends in Florida or California especially when we're in the middle of a snow storm here in the mid-state. But I also like the seasons and especially this week as it really has the bugs "screwed" up. They don't know if they are coming or going! It's great....  I told you the other day that I really DON'T like bugs that much. (Yes, I DO know that some bugs are necessary!)
I was out mowing the yard last night and was constantly "attacked" by the darn gnats, (black flies), as they are horrendous this time of the year. They fly into your eyes, ears, and any other places they can find! Hopefully the helicopters will be out spraying for them in the next few weeks...  I sure hope so.
*************************
Looks like a lot of yard sales are opening up over the weekends around here the last couple of weeks. When a lot of folks think of Flea Markets they think of buying junk and dragging it home. Me, I think of saving money. There are many things I find to save a buck not excluding clothing. I've found shirts that I swear were never worn for anywhere from 25˘ to a couple of bucks! I also find plenty of office equipment and supplies. I've already purchased reams of paper for 50˘ a ream. I found a printer I needed, one time, to replace my worn out one for printing labels and it cost me a BIG $2.00!!! Originally it probably went for over $300 bucks! Now that's what I call a savings... So check the Internet and newspapers for your area and take a couple of hours to REALLY do some shopping this weekend...  Have too much "stuff" yourself and want to do some "cleaning out"? Then maybe it's time to have your own YARD SALE! For some great ideas and advice for your own sale, check out the Yard Sale Queen!
**************************
Looks like I have plenty to do over my weekend as far as getting "stuff" done, here in my home office. I'm hoping that I get some time to prepare some extra mailings as well.
You know, for a while, I was so busy promoting my MLM ventures that I kind of got away from the fun part of being in the Mail Order business...  I stopped publishing my "paper and ink" edition of my mail order publication, "Chuck's Mail Order News & Opportunities" Newsletter/Magazine. Well, you, by reading this daily post of mine are the first to find out that I've resurrected this publication and am publishing it again. Eventually, hopefully, I'll also start my print & mail service again as well. My printing machine has been taking enough of a break, (about a year and a half), and it's rearing to go and to start printing again. At the moment, I'm now mailing pre-printed circulars for folks at the rate of 4˘ each for 8˝ X 11" and 3˘ each for 5 X 8" circulars. I'm sorry but as of now, I only except those 2 sizes to mail.  You can get 200 8˝ X 11" circulars in a Priority flat rate envelope from the Post Office and send it to me for only $3.85 postage. If necessary to send UPS, send to 710 River Road, Dauphin, PA 17018
**************************
At my regular rates, a 1" c/r ad is $5.00, but if you highlight and print today's post and send along with your order, I'll print your 1" c/r ad for only $4.00! Save a Buck! (Of course you'll receive a FREE checking copy!)
**************************
I also got away from mailing commission circulars...  I've got a couple that has been drawing quite well and the one that pays the least still draws plenty of $5 dollar bills! If Interested, send me a L.S.A.S.E. and ask for my best commission circulars and I'll get 'em off to you. Put enough postage for 2 ounces, (37˘ + a 23˘ stamp), and I'll even include a FREE copy of my last issue of "Chuck's Mail Order News & Opportunities" magazine/newsletter!
**************************
Well as I look at the piles on my desks waiting for my attention, it's time for me to get back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

We have a chilly, cloudy day today here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania....
Looks like we're going to be in the 60s all day so our hot spell of the last couple of days have "flown the coop."
It's going to be a GREAT day here in my office today as I'm getting caught up with just about everything...
The joining packets with the downline reports for the Phase VII $
2=SUCCESS downline builder for the "Tape of the Month" program that ended on April 30th have all been completed and are "in the mail!" Those of you who are in the program should have your packet in a day or so. The brand new Phase VIII $2=SUCCESS downline builder for the "Tape of the Month" program has begun on May 1st and will run until July 31st. Thank goodness that job is all completed. Also, those of you who were in the Phase VII program and have not yet joined the main Tape of the Month program, the application must be back here at my office before May 31st!
If you're keeping up with the American Idol, looks like last night my pick for the American Idol, Anthony, was knocked off. In my opinion here was the American Idol. He has a great voice and can actually sing. He's "clean cut", young and good looking. He doesn't secretly "beat" on anyone and actually has no children "out of wedlock." Wow! Does this guy sound like Idol material or what? Well, either the contest is fixed or enough of the American public didn't think so. I just couldn't believe this kid was knocked off.....  You don't suppose that the Web Site www.votefortheworst.com was right and the contest was and is fixed do you? Well, since they voted Scot off last week, the site was taken down from the WEB for a few days but it's back up and wanting people to vote for the next worst, Carrie! Heck she is Betty & my choice after we lost Anthony.. Looks like we can't win for losing! Here's another good clean cut girl from an American farm. Yep, a farm girl that can sing her heart out, is pretty, has great stage presence and is far from conceited. She's not secretly married and another who has no children "out of wedlock." Another perfect candidate for the American Idol. Apparently, the site www.votefortheworst.com thinks she is the worst and is urging it's readers to vote for Carrie... Come to think of it, that's just fine with me....  Let them say she's the worst.... As far as I'm concerned, she's the best Idol material that's left in the contest....
************************
Although we are getting entries each and every day for our new Pre-Launch downline builder for the Elements program there is still time, probably today, to be in the first 100 enrolled. So if you're on the fence, now's the time to "get off of it" and jump in with us supporting the top program of this year!
************************
I've got plenty of work to get done before my trip to the post office and Betty is hinting to go out for lunch, so for me, it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Thursday!!!

We have another sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania with temps supposed to reach 85 today. That will be short lived though as Friday it's only supposed to reach the upper 60s. So much for the hot spell!
I "kept my nose to the grindstone" yesterday and got a good bit done, here in the office.
"Keep your nose to the grindstone"...  Here's what it means and where it came from.
Meaning:
Apply yourself conscientiously to your work.
Origin --  Before the mechanization of the metalwork trade the standard method for knife grinders when sharpening blades was to lie flat on their fronts with their faces near the grindstone in order to hold the blades against the stone.
The first known citation is Firth, Mirror to know Thyself, 1532 "This Text holdeth their noses so hard to the grindstone, that it clean disfigureth their faces."
****************
Did you ever wonder where some of the sayings we use each and every day came from and were started by? It took me awhile but I did find an Internet site to help us find out.  Just Click Here:  The Phrase Finder
****************
You know when you do business from your home office, especially by mail, there's never a dull minute, hour, or whatever, at least not very long. Here's just one example; It seems like several times a week I'll get a letter with some cash in it requesting something or other I'm selling. Normally most will have a return address on the envelope and if you can't decipher their name and address from the note or order form inside, you can get it from their envelope. However, I'd say at least 15% will have no return address at all on the envelope.
Does something sound dumb to you from this, or is it just me? If I were sending cash anywhere, I'd sure as heck make sure my return address was on the envelope so if it didn't reach whomever I sent it to, it would at least find it's way back to me!
There are so many things that could go wrong..  The address I'm sending to could be from and old ad and they may have moved and the forwarding ran out. It would then go to the "dead letter file" and eventually get disposed of. Or I could have made a mistake when I wrote the address on the envelope and it would not be able to get there. With no return address, again it would go to the "dead letter file."
How long does it take to print a legible return address on a letter to give it some "insurance" that if it cannot be delivered, it will be returned to you? Most of us have return address stickers that takes no more than a few seconds to apply. If you have your own computer and printer, you can make return address stickers in just a few minutes. I know I get a lot of FREE stickers sent to me each year from various charities soliciting contributions from me. Sometimes I send something, sometimes I don't, but I always keep the return address labels... After all they have my name and address on them and they are already printed... What would they do with them? The only thing they could do is "bail" them out! Anyway, the point of this story is to remind you to ALWAYS place your return address on your mailing pieces...  I don't want you to think someday that you sent me, or someone else, some cash and they just pocketed it and never filled your order..... When in reality the correspondence NEVER reached me and could not be returned to you!
Looks like I'm in for a productive day here in my home office but for it to be a productive day, I must get started. So for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

It's another sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania!
It ended up going up to 80 degrees yesterday so I shut down our stoker furnace. It's been going since last September so I guess it was ready for a rest. I know for SURE that it's ready for a good cleaning. It went down into the lower 50s last night so this morning it was a bit chilly in here but it will warm up soon enough. It kind of reminds me when I was a kid. At night it was rare if we had any heat at all after midnight when the fireplace went out and I'm talking about the middle of Winter! But dad would usually get up by 5:30 and build a fire before most of the family got out of bed..  Those days it was very easy to wake up. Especially when you first stepped out of bed and that air hit you not just in the face, but everywhere else as well!!!!
Everything is green here along the mighty Susquehanna River that runs through our back yard. Well, I guess I shouldn't say EVERYTHING as there are plenty of flowers coming into bloom. Even the lilacs are in bloom and when you walk out our front door, or out back door, you get "hit in the face" with a wonderful fragrance that makes you freeze in that spot. Sometimes I hate to come back in..  This is a great time of the year..
The only bad thing, outdoors at this moment, is the gnats, (black flies). Those little devils seem to want to eat you alive when you walk through a "cloud" of them. There sure are plenty of them as it looks like there are millions just walking through our back yard.
Thanks goodness the helicopters will soon start coming up the river spraying for them and eventually eradicate them or I guess I should say most of them until next spring. However, for the next few weeks we'll just have to put up with them. They make any outdoor work 3 times harder as you must "swim" your way through their "clouds" to mow or just do anything in the yard.
Our Pennsylvania governor Ed Rendell, was going to cut the assigned money to spray for them this year but thankfully someone "put a little bug" in his ear that it would not be a GOOD thing for him to do...  So thank goodness we'll have some relief before too awful long.
Talking about bugs, that's the only thing I really don't like about the Summer time. It brings bugs.... plenty of 'em. I know there are good bugs and there are bad bugs but I just don't like ANY bugs....  They "bug" me....  We've never been bugged with house flies here at the river. We're lucky to see 10 of 'em all Summer but we do get our share of other bugs and the larva that comes with them... or should I say "before" them.
Several years ago, one evening I fell asleep on the couch, only to be awakened by something crawling on my bare foot. At first I thought it was a snake as it was pretty long....  It turned out to be a hellgrammite! Actually the hellgrammite is the larva of the Dobsonfly. Lot's of fishermen use hellgrammites as bait. Now the Dobsonfly is not too weird, but weird enough, but boy the hellgrammites are really weird looking and give me the "creeps!"
Just one of my many experiences over the years with bugs. Once in a while, here along the river, we'll get a snake or two. I don't mind the snakes... not like the bugs... I can deal with snakes... We'll also see a Snapping Turtle here once in a while.. With those you're okay as long as you don't walk too close with bare feet.... They come pretty much with the territory, the river that is. I kind of like turtles..  They have a long life, in many cases much longer than humans...  and if you look at them with all of their scars and wrinkles they kind of look old and "wise".....
********************
Well, yesterday, being Monday, I did get a lot of mail... Lot's of offers, orders, and inquiries. I did get through all of the mail but of course I didn't get to any of the orders and inquiries as of yet..  That will be today's job among other things that need to be done around here. I REALLY have piles of work "staring" at me from my desks this morning....  So I guess for now.... it's back to work for me, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Tuesday!  (Check out today's Joke Sheet.... Plenty of good ones in there today!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania!
I had a GREAT weekend and really got a ton of stuff done. I got a several mailings together here in the office and even had time to finish mowing the yard.
This of course was between all of the Mommy Day's stuff going on for Betty. Our back deck now looks like a gardening store as she sure got a lot of flowers for mother's day, plus Saturday night her one son took her and I out for dinner with his family at a very nice restaurant. It was great but the serving portions were REALLY large and we had supper last night with what was left over from that outing.
Yesterday morning Betty and I was invited by her daughter for breakfast at the American Legion in West Fairview, (across the river), were she works. That was a nice trip as well. Wow, now were going to have to lose a couple of pounds to make up for it all. But it was sure worth it....
Today, I must head down to my heart doctor for a yearly checkup. That shouldn't be too bad and really shouldn't take that long so it won't screw up the entire day. I'll be home in plenty of time to get some office work done.
Today should be pretty good as being Monday I always get a ton of mail to go through. That's okay though, as I do love mail. It brings offers, inquiries and plenty of orders. Even with all of the electronic mail and Internet net stuff these days, I still like the old fashioned mail. It's just fun opening up all of that stuff. You never know what the envelope is going to contain inside. It's kind of exciting...  I know what you're thinking..... "For gosh sakes Chuck, get a life!"
Oh well, to each his/her own!
Hopefully I'll be getting out the "joining packets" over the next day or two for Phase VII of the $
2=SUCCESS downline builder for the "Tape of the Month" program has ended on April 30th. They must get out in the mail ASAP!
Any applications coming in now for the $
2=SUCCESS program will be sent all of the new "stuff" for Phase VIII which began on May 1st.
I'm also very pleased with the response to our latest
Pre-Launch downline builder for the Elements program. Applications are showing up on a daily basis for it... Hot Dog!
Looks like things are picking up now that warm weather has arrived..  Thank Goodness!
I still have a lot I want to get done BEFORE I head to the post office and doctor's office so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Monday!!!

T.G.I.F.
It's a bit cloudy here in Central Pennsylvania this morning but the weather folks say it's going up into the low 60s. So it looks like we'll be on the warmer side for a change! Sounds good to me. I'm still looking forward to shutting down the coal stoker for the winter. Heck if it doesn't warm up soon we'll have the stoker shut down for a couple of months and will be firing right back up again for another Winter. I don't want a short summer... I'd like at least 4 months of warm weather!

Have you ever wondered if it were true that aliens from other worlds have already landed here on earth? I read a book a few months ago written by Phillip Corso.
"Have we, the human race back-engineered alien technology as a ways of ensuring that we would, at least, have a fighting chance if we were invaded by alien beings? That was the belief of Major Philip J. Corso who stumbled upon alien artifacts sent from Fort Bliss, Texas on 6th July, 1947. He had come across a Corporal off limits in a warehouse and was just about to reprimand him, when the Corporal said 'You won't believe this'. 'What are you talking about?' asked the Major, taking a look inside the open crate. There was no need for the Corporal to answer. The crate, one of several, contained the body of a being, the like of which Corso had never seen before."
This guy was "for real" and his story should not be taken lightly. He wrote a book about his experiences called, 'The Day After Roswell'. You can read more about Philip Corso by clicking here. "Philip Corso, are We using Alien Technology Today?"
This is fascinating stuff and should you get his book, it will not allow you to lay down the book until you've read the entire thing!
You can read more about Philip Corso by clicking here. "Philip Corso, are We using Alien Technology Today?"
Check out his book on Amazon here, 'The Day After Roswell'. Or, if you like, you can borrow it at your local library.
I've already been interested in this "stuff" for years. However, until now most of the "stuff" I could read or see have been speculation. This guy's book pretty much proves that the government kept many secrets from us. In a way I agree with them, (the government), as I don't think at the time the population could handle the truth that something from another world actually existed. It wasn't that long before Roswell in 1947 that the hoax of "War of the Worlds" came on the radio and scared millions of people out of their wits! People actually took the program as real! With that in mind, the government wisely decided to keep the crash of the UFO "under wraps" from the American people.
I think they can come clean now, however, as we've all grown a lot since 1947 and can handle just about anything.

I don't know what got me off on that subject but I guess it's becoming one of my favorites. With the advent of the Internet, there are plenty of URLs where you can go and study about UFOs and Aliens....  When you read this Philip Corso's credentials you'll find it hard to dispute his story. Also the reverse engineering makes sense as we have just jumped into another century of knowledge since 1947's incident. Think about it......

I did want to mention something before this week came to a close....  I've been so busy all week with getting the "end of the month stuff" done and all of my promotions that I have not taken the time to mention yet another company I've become a distributor for.
Actually, I really don't have the time for another company but a friend of mine, down in Texas, made me an offer "I just couldn't refuse" so I'm now a member. The company is fairly new, (4 months), but boy has it ever come far in just that short time. This is surely one of those companies that you get that "gut feeling" is going to be around a long time and it gives you a good feeling that you had the foresight to get in at the very beginning.
The name of the company is Maxous but rather than me trying to tell you about it, and even mention the products, when you get a couple of minutes just click here. I've been in a lot of companies and have rarely seen products that actually got me excited but these sure do. We can all use 'em....  Don't believe me.... Just click here.....  Maxous If you have any questions, give me a holler or email me....

Today is Friday, the end of the week. Last weekend I worked most of my weekend on the "end of the month stuff." I still must do some work, here in the office, over the weekend but hope to get some time off to just relax. Maybe do some more yard work.
So as I look at the piles of work on my desk that must be done BEFORE my weekend starts, it's back to work for me, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

It another sunny, chilly morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania. It's going to be a beautiful day with temps in the low 60s!
Wow, today is May 5th. Boy there's a lot of significance for May 5th around here.
Of course today is Cinco de Mayo. Cinco de Mayo is a Mexican National Holiday. You're going to being hearing about it a lot today so if you don't know what it's all about, click here, Cinco de Mayo.
Also, today would have been my Mom's birthday.... Of course, had she lived she would be 95 years old. Well, anyway, where ever you are, Mom, Happy Birthday!
Today is also an anniversary for Betty and I. As of today, we've been together 23 years! Wow, it sure doesn't seem that long but it is. Looks like I'll at least be taking her out for a nice lunch/dinner today.
I just received another entry into the
Once A Month Association yesterday so I'll be working on that this morning. It usually takes about 2 hours to get them into the computer and get their custom camera/ready marketing kit together. That's one job I like as the more folks who join the Once A Month Association the better.
Check out our latest Newsletter to see what's happening there.
I don't know if you've been following the American Idol show or not, but last night they voted off Scott Savol. Now they're down to only 4 contestants! I like it as it's getting exciting. At any rate....  vote for your favorite next Tuesday as it's getting down to the "nitty gritty".....
Our downline builder,
Phase VII of the 2=SUCCESS downline builder for the "Tape of the Month" program has ended on April 30th and I'm working on the "Downline Joining Packets" right now...  Hopefully they'll be in the mail before too long. That means that anyone coming into the downline builder now will automatically go into Phase VIII. So don't worry if you have been promoting Phase VII as we turn no one away just because that particular phase has ended.
A note to those of you who ask me where I get my names & addresses to send to for my Downline building programs that bring so many people into them. Well, for the info just click here, (Chuck's Secret Name Place), for all the information. If you call or write Terry tell him I sent you and tell him which program you are working so he doesn't send you duplicate names that he's already sent someone else for the same program. You can use his names for ANY program!
I have tons of "stuff" to get done before I head for the post office today so as I stare back at the piles on my desks, it's time for me to get back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Thursday!!!

It's another beautiful sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania!
Looks like another good day to finish mowing my yard... The other day I got the lower 40 mowed, (down by the river), and out back of the house by the deck, but I still must finish the side and front of the house..  I hoping to take some time and get out there this afternoon and get that finished.
Doesn't it give you a real feeling of accomplishment when you finish doing yard work? I know it makes me feel much better. Unfortunately, this time of the year, that feeling don't last long as next week it will be time to mow the grass again.
At the cost of gasoline, this year you'd better watch where you sit your gas can for your mower! That's stuff's getting to be like "liquid gold."
I know I sat my Chevy Van in our side yard here last year until I get a chance to repair it. I went out the other day to start it and it wouldn't start. I happened to glance at the fuel gauge and it read EMPTY. I just filled it before sitting it there. Now either it developed a gas leak that completely drained the tank or someone helped it get that way with a siphon hose!
We've never had any problems around where we live with ANYTHING missing but it's awfully suspicious. Oh well, at any rate, it's not moving until I go get some gasoline for it..
When gas gets this high, I know we hear of more instances of folks filling their vehicles at the pump and taking off without paying for it.
I remember when I was very small, my mom and dad used to stop at this particular "service station" to buy their gas. Yes, back then they actually had "service stations" not "gas stations." When you stopped for gasoline the attendant would wash all of our windows on the outside and offer to check your oil and in many cases even offer to check the air in our tires. All for FREE just because you were buying your gas from them.....  (Ahhhhh the good old days!)
But back to my story. One day my Mom got a call on the phone that the man who owned the service station where she stopped for gasoline was killed. Seems a "transient" had stopped and demanded his money. As it was on a Sunday he did not have the service station open but was just cleaning up around the outside of it and all the money he had in his pockets was about $4.00. This was back in the '50s and $4 was a little money then. Well the transient demanded more money and when the owner could not come up with it, he shot him dead! That was the suburbs of Harrisburg and someone getting killed actually was the news for months.. Now, someone's getting killed in Harrisburg at least once a week!!!
So my point is, if someone would kill for a lousy 4 bucks, seems to me there is someone out there who would kill for a half of a tank of gas that's now worth over $20.00!
Keep alert and lock up your yard "stuff" including your gas can and don't "tempt" anyone by just letting it lay around out in your yard.
It's hard to believe it's the middle of the week already. I thought for sure I'd have more done, here in my office, by now...  Oh, the plans of mice and men.....
I did want to mention that the conference call from Elements last night was a "Jim Dandy!" Boy do they REALLY have a new way to promote the program. My prediction is by this time next year, there are going to be a lot of folks making GREAT monthly commission checks from this Company! (I plan to be one of them.)  I'm making a nice check now but I think I can at least triple it by this time next year!
If you'd like to start building your own residual income check, now's the time to get started and this is a GREAT company to begin your business with.
You can start for only 5 bucks by joining
our new Pre-Launch downline builder for the Elements program. Or if you want to get right in the main program earlier, contact me for a GREAT placement in my downline where I can personally help you build your own downline and commission check.....
Well, I'm looking at the piles of work on my desks and they aren't getting any smaller by staring at them, so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!
