It's another rainy day here in Central Pennsylvania and it's supposed to stay quite chilly with the temperature only predicted to go to a high of 48 degrees today. Yep we've definitely made a backslide into Winter.
Today is the last day of the month and that's when I am my busiest around here. I worked pretty late last evening but still have a ton of stuff to get done today. I printed envelopes and materials yesterday for a bulk mail for Betty's positions in my 2 downline builders, one for the Tape of the Month program, $2= $SUCCE$$, and of course the other for the Coin Savers Club, 2 Bucks for SUCCESS. It is now already to go and we'll be taking the mailing to the post office this afternoon for mailing. It's not a large mailing but pretty nice size for us with 200 mailing pieces..  It takes a lot of work to put together a mailing even of only 200 pieces. I want to get one out for myself by the end of this week if we can swing enough time for it. I already have the envelopes printed and a lot of the other printing done..  Just a couple of items to finish and then the assembly of it etc. So hopefully if I can finish all of my end of the month stuff, we'll be able to get that done as well.....
Well, I'd better get back to writing the
Once A Month Association newsletter for this month so we can get all of that stuff wrapped up today and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!!!

It's cold and rainy here in Central Pennsylvania and it's supposed to stay that way around here the rest of this week. It went down to 33 last night and it's only supposed to go to a high of only 50 degrees today. Looks like Spring didn't last too long and we've slipped back into Winter!
If you're looking for a publication about computers that's made for the average dude and/or dudette I thought I'd mention the one I get as it is one of the best I've seen. It's PC WORLD.  It's a monthly and it covers a lot of neat stuff that not only keeps me up with the latest "stuff" but also helps me keep up with the "stuff" I already have. It's saved me a lot of time and money from time to time. Check out an issue and if you like it go ahead and subscribe. No, I don't get a commission.....  Just thought I'd pass a good thing along. This month's issue has "132 Search Secrets" in it. Each issue also has a Home Office section in it. At any rate that's my "plug" for today.
Yesterday brought quite a pile of mail that I'm still going through and the month is running out fast... Tons of things to get done before the end of the month, (tomorrow), so for me it's back to work NOW, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

It's a nice sunny day here in central Pennsylvania. It's not supposed to get REAL warm here today but still not bad with a high of 58 degrees predicted. We had a beautiful weekend here at the Blue Bird Cottage and did get a good bit of cleaning up done. I even got my tomato seeds planted and also got the lawn mower running and tuned up for the Summer. I didn't get much cleaned up down in the lower forty, (back yard), as the river is still on it's way up and down like a yo-yo lately. It's back up a foot since yesterday. I'll hopefully get to that next weekend.
This week's going to be very busy as the month runs out and I'll have to get all the
Once A Month Association "stuff" done by Wednesday. The monthly statements, monthly Member Benefit Directory, and of course the monthly Newsletter. It's quite a job but I do love that project. This year will be the 12th year since I began the Association and I've sure met a lot of nice people over the years. Some have since passed away but I still have many of the "Old folks" left in the Association. Anyway, that will have to be done by mid week so that alone will make this a very busy week.
I didn't get a whole lot done, here in the office, over the weekend so now I must "plow" into it today and get caught up before I go get my first load of mail from the post office. As today is Monday, the mail should be "heavy" today.
I'm still trying to get used to "stabbing" myself 4 times a day to check my blood sugar. I am bringing down my sugar content though and that makes me feel like it's all worth it. I'm still learning the foods to shy away from and the ones that are pretty safe..  I imagine that it will be an "on going" education and I'll never get to learn it all. Thank goodness for the Internet. There is so much information on the WEB about diabetes that I really don't need any books, (although I've already bought one), to help teach me the do's and don'ts of this malady. I like reading the news threads of other folks that are in the "same boat" as I am. It really makes me feel good to know that I'm not the only one, (there are thousands), who is fighting this disease.
Oh well, enough of that....  I must get back to work and caught up some before my trip to the post office and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Monday!!!

T.G.I.F. ......  The sun is out and it's supposed to go up near 70 degrees here in Central Pennsylvania today! Spring HAS sprung!
I bought a seed starter kit yesterday to get my tomato seeds started. Usually I just use an old egg carton and some potting soil. Well, I was out of potting soil and it would be another week until I could scrounge up an egg carton so I thought I'd stop at "Home Depot" and pick up a "seed starter" kit and some potting soil. After all how much could it cost... I figured about 3 or 4 bucks. A small seed starting kit and a small bag of potting soil with tax was almost 9 bucks! WOW! I never expected it to be that expensive....  Oh well the potting soil should last me for a couple of years.... but you can bet your bottom dollar that next year I'm back to my egg carton starter bed. The tomato seeds won't even recognize the difference, I'm sure.
With the temperature going up to almost 70 degrees today I may have to let our coal stoker go out. With a coal stoker, to keep a fire, you must let it run. It will run only when the computer box calls for it to turn on.. I usually have it set for 3 minutes on and 5 minutes off. If the thermostat does not call for more heat it will stay in this cycle. However, even in this cycle it does produce heat. If it gets too warm outside then I must shut down the stoker or slowly roast to death! This time of the year, and Fall, is the worst as we will get some warm days in a row and then it will turn colder and I'll have to build another fire in the stoker which is NOT and easy job. Oh well, I do love the heater as it does keep us warm and toasty in cold weather.......
I am still revising and creating new promotional material for my 2 downline builders, one for the Tape of the Month program, $2= $SUCCE$$, and of course the other for the Coin Savers Club, 2 Bucks for SUCCESS. It's not as easy as it sounds... As soon as I feel I have some real good material.... I have some of my friends check it out and they always point out my mistakes which to me seem huge! Oh well, hopefully it won't take too long..... I'll let you folks who are already in one or both of these programs know, right here, when the new material is available.
I hope you're ready for your weekend.... I have several things that I must get done even before my daily trip to the post office so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

It's a rainy day here in Central Pennsylvania but it's supposed to climb up to 60 degrees today! That's good enough for me.... go ahead and rain.....
I must go this morning for another appointment at the cardiologists. I went earlier in the week for a blood test and this appointment is probably to discuss the results.. I sure hope I don't need more changes in my medicine..  It's getting to be a pain in the neck as well as other places..... I should be back in the office by early afternoon as all I need to stop for is some planting supplies to get my tomato seeds started. Hopefully Winter weather won't come back and hold on until late May and early June like it did last year. Boy, everything, including my tomatoes got planted very late last year. By the time they started producing real good the frost hit and destroyed them. Oh well..... can't count on anything when it comes to a vegetable garden can we? I guess in a way, that's what makes it so much fun....  If you live in an apartment, these days you can plant some tomatoes in pots and enjoy your own fresh picked fruit for in your salads, etc. It's a real joy.
I do have a few things I must finish so I can get them in this mornings mail and also I must get a bank deposit ready and stop at the bank so I can pay some bills before heading to the doctor's, so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Things are looking up here in Central Pennsylvania. It's sunny out right now and it's supposed to cli mean that Spring is finally showing up? I hope so..  It also reminds me that it's time to start my tomato plants. It usually takes a little over a week to germinate them so I'm going to try to take some time today and get my seeds planted. (Nothing beats the taste of "home grown" tomatoes!)
I bought some new seeds this year from a guy in Texas. They are not hybrids so if I like them I'll be able to save some seeds for next year. (Only problem is, I bought them about a month ago and now I must find where I put them!) I don't have a lot of room in our yard so I'm still going to plant a couple of the type of tomatoes I know we like just in case. Better safe than sorry.
I really like buying things over the WEB as I can always find things cheaper than my local stores and I get them delivered right to my door. With the price of gasoline these days that's a definite PLUS. Last week I was bidding on a DVD movie with my favorite actor, Clint Eastwood, called "BLOOD WORK." I actually won the bid for $3.88 for a brand new DVD wrapped and sealed in it's original packing! The shipping and handling was a bit high I thought at $4.50 but altogether it still only cost me a hair over $8 bucks. Not bad when you consider that it's selling from $14.99 to $17.98 at www.amazon.com! You must be careful not to get "caught up" in the bidding and bid more than is really necessary but with all that said you can save a good bit of money if you don't need something immediately. I know I'll never buy EVERYTHING over the WEB as some things are needed right now, but most things can be purchased that way and the savings can really add up! Most of the vendors on Ebay are honest and give you good service. I won the bid on "BLOOD WORK" on Wednesday of last week and it was delivered VIA the postman yesterday. Not bad at all. Besides that I just love getting packages in the mail.
Looks like I'm still running behind with my mail, inquires, and orders this week so on that note it's back to work for me and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

It's another sunny day here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania but another chilly one...  I'm still hoping for some warmer weather by the end of the week.
As usual I'm running behind today and some things are "coming down" that need my attention so I'm afraid that today's post will be quite small.
I did take time last night to do the Joke sheet for today so if you have time click on it at the end of this post for some good funny ones.
Our contractor neighbor is going to clean up our coal ash pile in our back yard this afternoon and I must get some things out of the way for him to get in with his equipment. He's going to do that for us and in exchange I'm going to check out his computer which he says is "slower than molasses in January."  Sounds like a fair trade to me! That will begin our yard clean up for this Spring...  As soon as we get a little warmer weather Betty and I will be out there in the yard cleaning it up etc..
I do have some mail from yesterday to open and sort yet also, so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania to start the brand new week. Unfortunately it's only supposed to go up to about 38 degrees today. Yep, we're still trapped in a cold spell.
I must go today for blood tests at the cardiologists for an appointment later this week. I guess it's to recheck some stuff that was happening last month. That shouldn't take too long but today we'll also have to shop for groceries, etc. so we'll be out for most of the afternoon. As today is Monday, I hope to get back in time, (I'll probably be working late this evening), to get to the mail. Monday's mail is always huge so I'd like to get some of it done today. I hate carrying a job over until the next day when it should be done today. I'm hoping to get some extra time this week to work on designing some new promotional material for both of my $2 programs for the 2 MLMs I'm promoting. I'll be posting here when I've finished them and have tested them for those of you who want them. These will be for the 2 Buck Downline builder for the Coin Savers Club and the $2= $SUCCE$$ downline builder for the Tape of the Month opportunity.
Betty and I were on a heart walk yesterday and our neighbor stopped to talk to us in his truck. We asked him if he'd seen our neighborhood pet deer, Verne, lately. He informed us that Verne had been killed on the "super duper" highway that runs near where we live. It was a jolt but it's a bad spot for deer around here. If the hunters don't get 'em the highway usually does. We'll miss him this Summer that's a "fer sure"......  Verne is featured in
Chuck's Daily Photo Gallery 10 on the left side of this page.
Well, I do have some things that I must get done for the Post Office before we head for the blood tests so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

T.G.I.F We had a winter snow storm here in Central Pennsylvania over night and our electrical power went down about 5 AM this morning. Until Betty found out about it and got me out of bed our coal stoker had lost it's fire. I got my generator filled with gas and fired it up on the porch as it was still snowing and I couldn't put it out on the deck it was running right outside our back sliding glass door. I had to place a piece of tape down the door to prevent the exhaust fumes from entering the house.  I ran wiring to our coal stoker, our fish tank, the kitchen light and also our 13" TV in the kitchen to see what was happening. I then built a fire in the furnace and by then we were both hungry and had some cereal. We were in pretty good shape with a nice warm house when the electricity finally came back on. However, as you can see it's running me a bit behind today with everything including this post.
Lot's of "stuff" I need to get done before my weekend starts and I'll still probably be working some, here in the office, tomorrow. We got about 3 to 4 inches of snow where we are located but it's supposed to go up above 40 degrees today so by tonight most of it should be gone. After all, tomorrow is Spring! Hot Dog it couldn't get here fast enough for me this year. I've mentioned before that my favorite time of the year is October around Halloween but the only bad thing is that around that time it reminds me that Fall is here and Winter is not far behind...  I just love those warm October days and chilly nights. You don't suppose that it's because I was born in October do you? Could be I suppose.
I hope you're about ready for the weekend..  I'm going to get back to work so I can get ready for mine and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

It's a beautiful sunny day here at the Blue Bird Cottage in central Pennsylvania this morning. The snow is just about all gone from the big snow storm we had day before yesterday, however, the weather bureau has posted a winter storm warning for this evening though tomorrow and they are now calling for 4 to 7 inches more of the white stuff for our area. Holy cats, I sure hope mommy nature gives up this Winter thing for awhile and lets Spring arrive!
Everything is going pretty smooth here in my home office and today looks like I'll be getting caught up with a lot of stuff. I have some work to to do on my web site, www.homebucks.com  so maybe today I'll get the time to get that done.
I've been receiving some email lately about the new hybrid cars that are now coming out from different manufacturers. Quite a few of them and now they're evening putting out SUVs that are hybrid. Boy am I glad to hear it! Not just because we need them to help combat the pollution problem but to put a dent in the petroleum companies AND the oil producing companies, OPEC. Yippee! I know my next brand new vehicle will be a hybrid of some sort or by then if they have perfected it an electric car.
The gasoline companies have been gouging us since the 70s when they started the rumor that there was a "non-existent" gas shortage and had us waiting in line at the pumps to pay exorbitant prices for gasoline. They did finally admit that they had manufactured the entire incident but it took them over 2 years to admit it. Did our "overly protective" government make them give back some of the money they bilked from us, let along the misery some of us went through thinking that we wouldn't be able to get enough gasoline to get to work to earn a living and keep our families? Heck no! Not only didn't they even get a "slap on the wrist" for their illegal antics, but the gasoline prices have NEVER went back down to where they belong!!!
The gas companies drove up the prices and then kept them up there. Gee, I wonder if it were the electric companies that did something like that they would "get away" with it. I guess they would if they "greased" enough palms in Washington! It always comes back to money, doesn't it? I hope every American buys a hybrid.... then watch the gasoline companies and OPEC try to "give away" their oil. I doubt it will happen in my lifetime but I sure would like to be around to see that. I hope it's not that far into the future......
Well, as I look around my desks I DO have a lot to get done before I head to the post office so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

It's starting off the mid week here in Central Pennsylvania with a cloudy day. It's only supposed to go up into the mid 30s today so it looks like we're still stuck in a winter pattern since yesterday's snow. We only received about 3 inches of snow right here in the mid-state but up in Erie Pennsylvania they got 18 inches of the white stuff!!! Wow I'm glad I don't live up there!
The mighty Susquehenna River that runs though out back yard is almost back into it's normal banks where it belongs. That high water did deposit a lot of unwanted crap in our back yard though. Parts of trees, sticks and limbs mostly. I won't be able to get down there to clean it up until the soil dries up some. Right now with the coating of snow and another mixed rain and snow front moving in for tomorrow looks like it's going to be awhile until I can get down there.
I do have plenty to do to keep busy here in my home office though. Betty and I did get the monthly downline reports done yesterday for the 2 Buck Downline builder for the Coin Savers Club. We'll be mailing them this morning. Almost 170 of them! Wow that took most of the afternoon and evening yesterday. Those of you who are in our 2 Buck Downline builder that sponsored anyone into the downline builder between February 15th and March 15th will be receiving a downline report with names, addresses, phone numbers, and email addresses if they provided them to me, should receive a report this week. It will give you a chance to contact each person and encourage them to join the main Coin Savers Club under you.
What's the best movie you've seen lately? I saw one last night that was absolutely GREAT! It's called THE SUM OF ALL FEARS and it stars Ben Affleck and Morgan Freeman. The movie came out in 2002 but I don't ever remember it advertised. I was grazing though the DVDs at our library the other day and it looked like it may be a good one. Wow was it ever a good one! If you like mysteries and adventures then you'll probably like this one. I've mentioned here before that our library "rents" VCR & DVD movies for $1.50 and you get to keep them for an entire week! The library on the West Shore in Cumberland County lets us "borrow" movies for FREE and we get to keep them for a week. The one we use the most that charges $1.50 each though has later movies than the other one and you still can't beat the prices! Another thing about the library... they have literally thousands of songs on CDs or tape. If I find an album I like I borrow it and I may just like the songs so much that while I have it....... "you finish this".......
Here's another good use..  The library carries a lot of computer manuals etc. I use them to teach me about computers and computer programs. Another great use of our local library is if we like a book and think we'd like to buy it, we check it out at the library first and if we like it, we'll buy a copy for ourselves... So... first chance you get .... check out YOUR library and see what they have that you can use......
Well, as I look around my desks the piles aren't too high but there are piles of "stuff" that must be done so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Yesterday it was a beautiful sunny day that climbed up into the 50s. This morning its snowing like crazy! We already have about 2 inches. I know at this time of the year it sure won't be around long no matter how much we get but it's depressing. I was all ready for Spring weather and mommy nature figured she had to give us some more snow. Ugh! According to the weather reports the rest of the week looks pretty good though.
A friend of mine left Friday for Hawaii for 10 days. He sure did pick the right time. He's down there soaking up the sun about now. Probably getting in some swimming and scuba also. Ah...... what a life....   Opps... there's reality... I just glanced out the sliding glass door of my office and the wind is blowing the snow around...  Maybe next year.....
I've been getting in a nice heart walk every day now for several days but unless this blizzard REALLY shuts down I'm going to miss it today.
I received a "get well" card (for my hospital trip), signed by all the folks at the "Tape of the Month" company in Texas. What a nice thing to do. I sure NEVER expected it but am VERY pleased to get it. It's nice to know someone is thinking of you. Thanks gang!
I received a huge bag of mail yesterday. I kind of expected it as Mondays usually produce a lot of mail. I did get it all opened and sorted but that's about it. This morning and afternoon hopefully I'll get a lot of it done before another trip to the post office. I received a nice stack of applications for the 2 Buck Downline builder for the Coin Savers Club and also several for the $2= $SUCCE$$ downline builder for the Tape of the Month opportunity. They should keep me busy for a few hours..  With that in mind it's back to work for me and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Tuesday!!

It's a beautiful sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania to start off a brand new week. However, we better enjoy today around here as tomorrow the weather folks are calling for 2 to 4 inches of snow!
Maybe this will be the "Onion" snow that my Mom always said signifies the end of winter and the beginning of Spring. Wait a minute, I just looked up the "Onion Snow" in The American Heritage Dictionary and it describes the "Onion Snow" like this: NOUN: Chiefly Pennsylvania A light snow in late Spring after the onions have been planted.
Well it's not even Spring yet so I guess the snow coming tomorrow can't be the "Onion Snow." I remember when I was a kid an Mom would say, "It's the Onion snow!" I would look outside and I just couldn't figure out why she thought the snow flakes looked like onions. I know, pretty dumb, right?
I'm really getting caught up now and only have a few jobs to do before I'm completely up-to-date which hasn't happened for a long, long time. Of course today is Monday and Monday is known for it's super big mails so I better not brag too much. I did work over the weekend a little but mostly just screwed around. Now that the weather's been warming up some I'm back to taking my "heart walk" on a daily basis. Boy I can tell I'm not used to walking that far. I don't think it will take too awful long to start getting my walking legs back though. Walking should help lower my blood sugar though. At least that's what I'm hoping.
I do want to wish my oldest son, Chuck, a happy birthday and many, many more to come. His birthday was on Saturday the 13th. Chuck is now 42 years old. Holy cats Chuck you're catching up to me!!!
I do have several things to get done before I head to the post office so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!

T.G.I.F. Yep, Friday's here again! It's a beautiful sunny, (but cold), day here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Cenfatral Pennsylvania...... Hope you're just about ready for the weekend as it's almost upon us......
Looks like we're in for a windy weekend here in Central Pennsylvania but nice enough to get some yard work done.....  Even though we did pick up a lot of limbs etc., there's plenty more to go plus all the junk that the high water brought last week and deposited in our "lower 40"....  (Back yard.) It will feel good to get outside and do some work I'm sure as it always does. I still haven't figured out what the heck is digging a hole at the corner of our cottage right under my office but I'd better find out soon as if it keeps expanding it's going to have some effect on the structure itself! I'll be out and around this weekend so I'll try and get a photo of it and post it up here to give you a "look see." Reader Kathy Fouse sent me an email yesterday and said that she has a groundhog that has taken up residence under her house and she and her husband can't get rid of it as it's too darn big for the traps they've set! (Any suggestions?)
Groundhogs can be a very destructive animal. I've never liked them that much since I was a kid. Back on the dairy farm I grew up on...... I was about 13 years old and had plowed a field the day before and was now running the disk harrow over it to break up all the clods of earth and prepare it for planting. When harrowing you can go pretty fast.... I'd say I was doing about 5 to 8 miles an hour.....  Well it seems like over night this ground hog decided he was building a home right in the middle of the field and I didn't see the nice sized hole that had developed over night. I was operating a Farmall model C tractor with what they call "tri-cycle" wheels on the front of it. (Two wheels in the middle of the tractor right beside each other.) I hit that darn groundhog hole dead center with those wheels and sheared them right off!  My dad said that as I "broke" the tractor I would have to fix it right where it was in the field. We got the parts and I took tools and worked on that darn thing all the next day to get it repaired... only thing was that this darn groundhog built his "House" right in the middle of a red ant hill!!!  Yep, by the time I finished repairing the tractor I had ant bites from bottom to top and in places I don't want to mention. Since then I DO NOT like groundhogs!! PERIOD!!!
Well it looks like my story took up about all of my Friday's post...  Oh well, you know me when I get to rambling.....  Thanks for reading and I guess I'd better get back to work and YOU, YOU Have a GREAT Weekend!!!

It's a nice sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania and it's supposed to go up into the 50s. I know it's a far shot from the 80s and 90s they've been experiencing in California but around here we'll gladly settle for it.
At the corner of my office under the house a large hole is being dug by some critter. It's at the same place that our pet, wild rabbit used to get to his place under my office. I was going to fill it in immediately but I've had second thoughts. Suppose I fill it in and what ever built it is at home under my office? I wouldn't want to trap it in. I'm going to have to do something about it but it will take some thought. The hole is getting pretty big so I'm thinking that it just may be a ground hog. However, it's a bit early for them to be out and about.....  I'm sure I'll find out before too long....
The mighty Susquehenna River that flows through our back yard is now receding back into it's banks. I feel a lot safer however the high water deposited a huge pile of rubble in our back yard. We'll have to wait until the soil dries out some so we can clean it up.. Right now though it's a mess.
I sure hope I get enough time this summer to get my boat into the river and get some fishing time in. Last summer I was so busy with my 2- $2 downline builders that I didn't have any spare time at all!
Still playing catch up and with all the work I have on my desks so it's back to work for me, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Believe it or not it's a snowy morning here in Central Pennsylvania!
Sorry I'm getting this post up so late.... It seems like every time I try to get going on it the phone rings...  It's been a busy morning so far.
I worked most of yesterday trying to get the mail caught up from last week's fiasco. I'm not done yet but I'm getting closer.
If you would like to get rid of all of the spy ware programs on your computer, (these are programs that keep track of what you do with your computer and where you go on the Internet), you need to download a good program to get rid of them. I downloaded a FREE program a few days ago and it REALLY cleaned out my computer. It's called "Spybot" - "Search and Destroy." Download it here and read the instructions...  You'll be surprised all the stuff it finds that you DON'T want on your machine... Click here: Spybot after you install it read the small tutorial and it will guide you though just what you must do.. It's easy and effective.
In The News..........
Hot Dog! Some of the nation's largest Internet providers, in an unusual joint effort, said today they filed six lawsuits against hundreds of people who were accused of sending millions of unwanted e-mails in violation of the new U.S. law against "spam." The legal actions were brought by Microsoft Corp., America Online Inc., Earthlink Inc., and Yahoo Inc. who represent the first major industry actions under the "can spam" legislation that went into effect Jan. 1. The lawsuits, filed in federal courts in California, Georgia, Virginia and Washington state, were announced at a news conference.
The defendants include some of the nation's most notorious large-scale spammers. The Internet providers - collectively with tens of millions of subscribers - said they shared information, resources and investigative information to identify some of the defendants.
I hope they knock all the spammers off the WEB. I spend many hours each month deleting and blocking these darn things and they just keep coming. I'm sure you face the same problem. I'm glad the "big boys" are joining forces to get rid of these worthless b--tards!
Well, there's a lot to get done here in the office today so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!!!

It's another nice bright sunny day here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania...  It's still a bit on the cold side though.
Yesterday Betty and I took some time picking up sticks in the yard. We have many trees around our cottage and the Winter weather knocked quite a few into our yard. Small ones big ones..... plenty of them to clean up.  Boy, you can tell after a winter that both of us are out of shape and not used to bending over so much..  It's a pain in the neck, (as well as a lot of other places), to get old. If you're pretty young, for gosh sakes start taking real good care of yourself. I'm always using that old cliché, "If I knew I was going to get this old, I'd have taken better care of myself!" ...and I MEAN it! Develop good eating habits, take plenty of vitamins and minerals, and set up a good exercise program and stick to it! Believe me these are words from someone who really does know what he's talking about. It's no fun going to the doctor's and hospitals what seems like every other day and taking zillions of tests and finding more and more wrong that must be taken care of....  It's so much nicer to take care of yourself when your young and enjoy your middle and old age years......
I'm still trying to play "catch up" here in the office. I did take some time yesterday and develop a new $2 downline builder circular for the Coin Savers Club but I'll have to do some refining on it before I post it up here for the members of the 2 Buck Downline builder.....  I'll let you know about it in a few days.
I heard yesterday that a friend of mine had a hard drive crash and lost all of her records. I ask her about a back up and she said she did one about a month ago... That's a lot of material to lose..... a whole month's worth!
A couple of months ago I bought a 80 gig Western Digital external hard drive that operates from 2.0 USB port and boy it's one of the best purchases I've ever made. I can back up everything at night, before I shut down, in only a few minutes and that's on all three computers that I have connected to my home office network! With the back up external hard drive hooked up to my main computer and a FREE backup program that I downloaded and configured with a couple of clicks of my mouse I can start the back up. It takes about 12 minutes to do the back up on all 3 computers.  On just one it would probably be about 5 minutes for me. It all depends on how many files you are backing up....  It's the best thing I've done for myself in quite awhile. I say for myself because with my systems now, I have complete peace of mind. If I happen to start one of my computers in the morning and find one of my hard drives "fried" I'll be able to recover my files, after installing a new drive in only a few minutes! Now that's "peace of mind".....
As I look around my desks I see a lot of work to be done, so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

It's a nice sunny day here in Central Pennsylvania but I think a bit of winter is coming back for a few days.. A little snow and some colder weather, especially at night here this week is forecast.
The mighty Susquehenna river that runs through our back yard is at this moment about 3/4 of flood stage. It's REALLY high! The ice on the river is completely gone. We had rain over the last few days and coupled with the warm weather, and the snow melting north of us, the river is bulging. It's a 13 1/2 feet right now and is just about at crest so later this morning it will start to recede. (Thank goodness!)
In the news.....
The radio and TV are both covering the Martha Stewart trail and now that she's been judged guilty they can't seem to get enough of it on. They even had part of the jury on the Today Show this morning.
Well, I may as well kick my 2 cents in.... here goes....  Okay, Martha's guilty. As far as Martha almost certainly getting jail time, I think that's ridiculous! I thought we jailed people who were a threat to the rest of us. What kind of threat does Martha present to you and I? I don't think she's going to sneak in our houses and steal from us and perhaps murder us tonight or even tomorrow night. I think, if these are our laws, they definitely need changed. No wonder our jails and prisons are over flowing. I didn't say that Martha should not be punished....  Hit her where it apparently REALLY hurts her and that's her wallet! She has already been fined one million dollars. She'll never be able to be in charge of her own company again as she is now a felon. She's been in the spotlight and dragged through our court system and publicly humiliated. Now we have to toss her butt in jail? WHY? What purpose would it serve us as a society to do this? Now we're going to feed, clothe and supply shelter for her for a period of time. Why? It sure as heck won't make me feel any better at all. There are plenty of other folks too that don't deserve to be in the penal system as well as Martha. Some people analyzed that if Martha would have "broken down" and cried and admitted that she was "only a woman" and could make mistakes, that maybe the jury wouldn't have been as harsh. Well la ti da! Why should she? She's a strong business women and doesn't have to do crap like that. So she was mean and yelled at her employees.....  Well tough shit! Nobody told those people they had to continue to work for her.... they did it because they were "well paid" and nothing more. As far as I'm concerned, I didn't start out on Martha's side but as this situation has proceeded I'm for her more and more. Go Martha!!!
I may be more critical than I should but sometimes think that our system of lawyers, yes, I'm talking about our government, make so many laws that we need them to constantly interpret them for us, (and charge us to do so.) That's the way they make themselves indispensable. Take notice while they're making laws to govern us that they also take care of themselves very generously. Just like they've given us the social security system to supposedly "take care of us" in our old age......  they've given themselves a separate insurance policy to take care of themselves and families for life, plus even after serving, (serving, there's another inappropriate use of that word in this case), for only 4 years they collect their FULL Salaries for the rest of their lives!!!
Consider this.......  our congress, the Senate and House of Representatives, are there for only one main reason that I can see and that's to make laws. They've been making laws for hundreds of years..  My question is, "When do we finally have enough laws?" They sure wouldn't want to acknowledge that as that would put them out of a job! Still, these things bother me....  I want to know!!!
I did get a lot done here in the office over the weekend and some chores around the house done as well but I did NOT get caught up with my office work, so..... as I look around my desks at the piles of work I feel it's time for me to go back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Monday!!!

Thank you all who wrote to me wishing me the best and a speedy recovery. It really DOES mean so much to me!

T.G.I.F. Yep, Friday the end of the work week.  Are you ready for the weekend? I know I am.... It'll give me a chance to catch up on some work after the first part of this week was a complete catastrophe! I'm feeling a lot better today .... not as tired..  We're supposed to go up into the low 60s here today in Central Pennsylvania. Wow, looks like Spring IS on the way! We've had a rough winter in these parts this year and we're all looking forward to Spring this year..
The ice broke on the the mighty Susquehenna River that runs though our back yard without any incident and it's flowing nice and smoothly. It is, however on the rise but should not get above half bank of flood stage. (At least that's the immediate prediction.)
I was supposed to overnight the applications for the Tape of the Month  program from the Phase II of the $2= $SUCCE$$ downline builder on Tuesday so they would get to the company on the deadline, the 3rd of the month. However as you know I was in the hospital. I called the main company in Texas from the hospital and asked them if they could hold their books open one more day and they agreed to. When I was released on Wednesday afternoon I came straight home and worked on the applications, bundled them up, and rushed them to the Fed Ex depot to get them on their way. So those of you who joined this time, don't worry as all applications got into the company on time.
My mail load is still backed up and I'm working on it, but it will take awhile to catch up. With that in mind and the weekend on it's way, for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

I'M BACK....... Sorry I missed a couple of days doing this post but I had a good excuse....  Monday I told you I had one more trip to the hospital, (out patient), for the EGD procedure to band the rest of the blood vessels in my esophagus. I went Monday morning and the doctor banded 5 more of them. The was the last of them, (this was my third trip in 3 months), and boy was I glad. It was a painful experience. I came home in the early afternoon, took a quick nap and felt pretty good so I started to work in the office. Actually I worked a little late as I was getting behind with some "stuff" as a result of my hospital trip.
Late Monday evening actually almost midnight, Betty had already went to bed, I was about half dozing watching the Jay Leno show when I sat up for a trip to the bathroom. All of a sudden I felt really "flushed" all over. After I went to the bathroom I sat down in there as I was really feeling bad. I remember calling to Betty a couple of times and then I recall waking up leaning against the wall. I had passed out. Betty was there by then and I mentioned to her that I really felt sick and I thought I was going to throw up which I did into the bathroom sink and I was all blood! Lot's of it! Betty called 911 and I really couldn't wait 'til they got here as by then I was getting pretty scared. When I arrived at the ER I threw up another batch of blood that looked like about a quart.... of it. They got me stabilized and was giving me blood though an IV. Well, to make a LONG story short what had happened is one of the bands the doctor had placed Monday morning had "slipped" and the vein started to rupture..  I spent Tuesday and most of yesterday in the hospital getting back to normal, (whatever normal is for me).... and I'm back in the "saddle" as it were, here in my office this morning .... just a bit worse for wear.
I'm feeling a LOT better and the worse part now is that I've been on a liquid diet since Sunday...  I'm so darn hungry I COULD eat a horse. Maybe after a trip to the doctor's tomorrow afternoon he'll put me back on solid food. I hope so as I've had enough "Ensure", Jell-O, and juice to choke on. Anyway that's my story... That's why I missed this post the last couple of days....
As you can figure, things are really backed up here in the office so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Welcome to a new month. It's another beautiful day here in Central Pennsylvania..  Beautiful over the weekend as well.... Although I didn't get much of a chance to enjoy the weather, as I worked here in the office most of the weekend.....  I did get a chance to take a couple of "heart" walks....
Betty and I did finish all the
Once A Month Association "stuff" and it will go into the mail this morning. Also tried to get caught up with a few other things but failed..
This will be another short post as it's really early here and I must be a the hospital by 8AM. This should be my last visit for
the Esophagogastroduodenoscopy or EGD test & procedure to band the rest of the swollen blood veins in my esophagus. I sure hope so anyway as it tends to be a very painful procedure. This is the 3rd time in 3 months I've been through this and hopefully this will be the last..  It's an out-patient deal so I'll be back in my office by this afternoon....  Probably a little worse for wear but I'll be here...
I have just a couple of things to get done before we're "out the door" so for me it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Monday!!!
