It's another nice morning
here at the Blue Bird Cottage and we're still in a heat spell. We had some
thunder storms last night but it didn't knock the heat out of the
atmosphere... Nope, were still buried in the 3 Hs, Hazy, Hot and Humid! Well it
IS that time of the year so I'll just find ways to enjoy it.....
Lot's of folks are enjoying themselves out on the river now as the water is
plenty warm for swimming, boating and kayaking.
Toward evening and before the thunder boomers came I cleaned out the rain spouting on
the back porch and deck. It wasn't too bad as there was a warm breeze, if I
had been working in the sun it would have been a different story.
When I think of all the extremely hot days when I was growing up, back on the
dairy farm that we worked in the fields practically from morning until dark,
it reminds me that when you're younger you don't mind the heat like you do
when you get older.
Betty and I will be driving along and see some fellows working on the roads or
up on a utility pole working and she'll say, "How can they stand it out in
that heat?" Well, that's because they're about half of our age, that's how...
If you're young(er), enjoy the nice warm sun and the hot days. Don't "hang
out" in the air conditioned buildings or homes..... When we were
younger, no one had air conditioning. We lived with the heat and sometimes the
only relief was taking a dip in the river. We enjoyed it and had fun....
If you deprive yourself of enjoying the summer weather, you'll be missing out
on a lot of neat experiences. Besides that you'll have nothing to
look back at when you do get older... At least we have the memories.... and
most of them are REALLY good ones.... No, Youth is NOT wasted on the
young, we older folks just have to remind them once in a while to enjoy their
youth!!!

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
Yesterday John had another swallowing test... Yes, believe it or not after you
don't eat for a long time and are fed by tubes, they give you tests to see if
you are able to swallow and eat on your own. The first couple over the
last week, John failed, but yesterday he passed! He's now allowed to eat REAL
FOOD! They fed him some things last evening and of course all he did was
complain how bad everything tasted..
Debbie had to get short with him and tell him to eat EVERYTHING so he can come
home earlier.....
Yes, I don't think John isn't in any position to complain.. He wanted
food, now he has it.... Time to eat it! They took his feeding tube out
of his throat yesterday morning and also the tube that's in his trachea, (windpipe), was taken
out and replaced with a smaller one.
He can now REALLY speak well and as I predicted, he's talking off everyone's
ears!!!
Hang in there John-John.....

It's another very hot but
nice day here in Central Pennsylvania.
Yesterday was a scorcher but I did get plenty done.. I made a trip to my
physical therapy session at about 10 AM yesterday morning which was a bummer
for me as I hate any kind of appointment that comes before noon.
All through my adult life, and even before my adult life, (come to think of
it), I HAD to get up very early in the morning. I swore some day that I'd work
my way out of that situation.
When I was a kid growing up on our dairy farm I had to get up about 3:45 AM
EVERY morning to feed, clean, milk, and "bed down" the dairy herd, calves,
horses and feed the chickens and geese, Pigs etc..... Each and every morning.
My brother and I used to get home from school about 4:30 PM in the afternoon
as our "lane" was the last stop on the bus route, and yes we DID walk a mile
as our lane was a mile long, and as soon as we got home the above chores would
have to be repeated. It would be about 8 PM to 9 PM before we finished and
then it was clean up time and right to bed for the next morning.
Later when I was young and married, I held two full time jobs that required me
to begin at 5 AM and 9 PM at night so that was another stretch, (a long one),
that I had to get up early every morning. Then I went into business for myself
and I started work on the 3 rd trick each night at 12 midnight and worked 'til
8 AM and then junked cars until 3 PM in the afternoon before I broke for a few
hours sleep before beginning work all over again...
I know that was a very long explanation but that's why I don't like rising
early for ANYTHING any more!
Fortunately, now, with my home business, I can get up and start late and then
in the evening work as late as I want to make up for it...
I just love getting up and sipping a few cups of coffee while I'm just
tinkering around getting the latest news on TV or writing some of this post
every morning. It just relaxes me instead of getting me all tensed up
"running around like I'm nicked in the head" getting ready to run to work.
Now my morning "compute" is walking from the kitchen to the end of the cottage
to my home office. I usually "fire up" the 3 networked computers and let them
boot up and warm up for a few minutes while I'm getting coffee or cleaned up
and shaved.... By then I'm ready for the trip to the mailbox to pick up
the morning paper and then to start my day's work. I usually, in the Summer
time, like to walk out on the back deck and see what's happening on the river
while I drink one of my cups of coffee. It's usually not that warm and it's
pretty enjoyable getting the morning's fresh air....

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
Debbie, John's wife went down to Philadelphia yesterday, by train, not only to
visit John but to check with the doctors on John's progress and to see where
they have decided to send John for his re-hab.
I'm sure the doctors really want John to "stick around" down where he already
is, (at the Penn State Hospital in Philly), for re-hab but of course John is
pushing to get to Mechanicsburg for his re-hab as it's much closer to home and
he'll be able to see more family members, more often...
The doctors are still going over their findings from yesterday and will call
Debbie about their decisions today... I hope it's a good report.
Hang in there John-John.......

Mail order, MLM, and Home Business Workers...........
Many of you when you are first introduced to the mail order/MLM business you
read a lot about selling information as a great mail order product. There is a
lot of fact in that and I always make some good money by selling reports,
books, etc.... You'll find a great batch to start you off right here:
20 Fantastic Reports
You can purchase one or the entire set of 20. When you purchase the entire set
your get reprint rights and also a camera/ready copy of each report, plus
you'll get a camera/ready to sell the set... It's a GREAT way to get
started in the information business and get your feet wet.
You can just concentrate on selling one or several of the reports and when
someone orders that particular report, you can follow up with the entire set
as a "back end" sale!!
Selling information is not only fun, but can be VERY profitable...
It only costs you mere pennies to reproduce the reports and you get dollars
for them!!! They are not only cheap to reproduce, but they are cheap to
ship! It is considered the perfect mail order product!!!
Take a look and decide for yourself:

In The News................ and my humble slant on it........
In a tense moment, Cruise calls
Matt Lauer "Glib"
Forget what 'Glib' means? Click here:
Glib
Tom's been taking a lot of heat lately from his love, Katie's family about his
devotion to Scientology. It seems that Katie has been raised as a devout
Catholic.
Now Matt Lauer also jumped on him advocating psychiatric drugs. Cruise then
accused Lauer of advocating the use of Ritalin.
Personally, as with wars, I feel folks spend too much time worrying about who
believes in what as far as religion. I'm not against religion, I just wish
that we could truly practice our beliefs without taking it out on others who
don't believe the same as we do.... What ever happened to "live and let
live".... Most folks of all religions claim that they love their neighbors,
only for most of us to find out that they only love you if you believe the
same thing as they do!
I'm really not even sure if Scientology is a religion or just a way of
life.... But it seems that if Tom believes that a lot of drugs are not only
over rated but over used as well, I think I agree with him.....
I think a lot of us would be much better off with the least amount of drugs it
takes for us to survive.... Maybe it's about time we start listening to folks
with different ideas.... Let's face it our society is far from perfect.
I'm also against giving drugs to school children to "calm them down..." In a
lot of cases teaching them a bit more respect for their selves and the elders
would go a lot further... than drugging them up... Maybe some
discipline... it never hurt us any and we never went to school with guns
to hurt other students and teachers... Instead of slapping them verbally,
perhaps a slap on the butt would help more!
I also feel that if two people love each other enough, they can overcome
anything and that includes a different religion!
Click on the title above for more on the confrontation between Matt and
Tom....
*************************************
It's starting to hotter than heck already here at the Blue Bird Cottage so
it's another day of mostly indoors.... As I look at the piles of work on my
desks.... maybe it's just as well for me.... I'm going back to work now, and
YOU, YOU have a Wonderful Day!!!

It's another sunny morning
here in Central Pennsylvania. We're going to have another blast of the 3 Hs
again today. Hazy, hot and humid! That'll keep me inside the house to get
plenty of work done, here in the office today.
Last night was miserable as far as getting a decent night's sleep. I have no
idea what the heck was wrong but I just laid in bed for over 2 hours and
couldn't fall asleep. I came back to the living room on my recliner chair and
flipped the TV back on with the headphones, (so I didn't disturb Betty's
sleep.) I watched an entire movie and half of another before I finally dozed
off. The last time I saw the clock it said 4:30 AM. When I awoke around 6 AM I
went back to bed.. Betty woke me up about 8:30! I hope I get a chance to
take a small nap this afternoon as I think I'll need it. That's another "perk"
of working for yourself... Sometimes though it's still not possible if
you MUST get something done.

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
Trouble is brewing with John.. As far as his recovery is going he is
really making big strides... The problem is, now that he's feeling a bit
better, he's obsessed with going home.
He STILL has the tube in his trachea, (windpipe), he STILL is NOT eating any
solid food as of yet, and he's STILL too weak to walk. Of course, in John's
mind, he's till in good enough shape to come home as long as someone stops in
for a few hours a day and helps him! Last evening John started getting all
these ideas of how he could get home, back to Harrisburg, from Philly. All he
needed was some people who would promise to come help him at home.
He called his mom, Betty, at 1:00 AM this morning to ask if she could come
down to his house and help him out 2 or 3 times a week. Of course she said she
could, and would, but she didn't feel he was in good enough health to come
home... Well, John didn't hear that at all.....
I don't know if it's depression or what but he is stirring up a hornet's nest
and has everyone on their toes.
Debbie, his wife is going down on the train tomorrow morning to speak with his
doctors and also someone from the Mechanicsburg, (At town right across the
river from Harrisburg), re-hab center is going down tomorrow to "evaluate"
John's condition for a possible enrollment at their facility.
Right now there's no talking to John so hopefully tomorrow, we'll have more
information on just what they are going to do with him. I think his doctor's
in Philly would sooner he stay where he is for re-hab so they can keep an eye
on him.... I really don't think that is going to happen if John has his way!
Back tomorrow with more on John...
Hang in there John-John..........

U. S. Gas Prices Up 8
Cents Over 2 Weeks..
Every time I leave the house and go anywhere the gas stations have put up
their gas prices from the day before. It seems it's very rare to see the price
stay the same for 2 days in a row.... As long as we put up with it, it's just
going to get worse... We need to boycott our local gas stations to drive
home, to the gasoline companies that we are not going to stand for it any
longer...
We'll have to start "carpooling" with our neighbors again like we did back in
the 70's.... when the large oil companies all lied to us that there was a
gasoline shortage. Back then we had huge lines at the pumps to get some
gasoline. Then they went to "odd" and "even" numbers of your license plates.
Only the folks with "odd" numbered plates could buy on one day and the next
day those with an even number were allowed to buy.. It was a mess.
The price of gasoline literally "flew" up over night from about 35˘ a gallon
to "pushing" a buck a gallon!
About 3 years after this happened the gasoline companies "admitted" that there
had been NO shortage of gasoline at all! It was all a hoax. I don't even
remember them, the oil companies, getting a "slap on the wrist" for their big
hoax.
Incidentally, the high gasoline and heating oil prices NEVER went back down!
This indicates to me that the big oil companies will do ANYTHING to keep
inflating their prices to gouge their fellow Americans out of their money!
Click on the title above for some up dates to the gasoline prices... But
it's hard to find the REAL truth as to why we're paying so darn much. With the
WEB though you just might be able to find out some of the "stuff" I mentioned
above.. If you do find something, email me so I can let others in on it.....

It's a beautiful but hot
Monday here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania to start out a
brand new work week.
I got a ton of "stuff" done around here over the weekend but nothing outdoors
as it was just too darn hot....
I can't take the heat and humidity like I used to.... I guess I just got too
darn old and decrepit.
I'm still taking physical therapy this week for my neck.... It doesn't
seem to be helping yet, but Ralph Fulton from Georgia wrote me over the
weekend, in an email, that his wife Ruby had neck pain set in because of
arthritis, (just like me), before winter last year and had physical therapy 2
times a week and for only a month and it done wonders for her.
I've got my fingers crossed.... I'm going 3 times a week.....

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John's wife, Debbie, made the trip to Philly over the weekend on the train for
a visit with John that lasted over night until Sunday afternoon.
John is feeling so much better that they even disconnected his oxygen tube and
she took him for a "ride" for about a half an hour... That's REAL progress!
Not much news over the weekend what the doctors have planned next for John as
they usually slack off over the weekends so I'll probably have more by
tomorrow morning..
Hang in there John-John........

EBay Losing
Allure for Some Entrepreneurs
By RACHEL KONRAD
SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - With roughly 150 million registered users, eBay Inc.
(EBAY) ranks among the world's most powerful companies, online or otherwise.
It had more than 1.4 billion items listed last year. For every $100 spent
online worldwide, $14 was spent on eBay. But some say eBay's blockbuster
growth has engendered arrogance.
Entrepreneurs grumble that executives pander to big-ticket electronics vendors
and industrial manufacturers - not the teddy bear enthusiasts and numismatists
who were faithful a decade ago, when eBay was founded and enjoyed a kitschy
obscurity. They complain about shoddy customer service, including site crashes
and anti-fraud software that too often mistakes a legitimate business for a
huckster.
If you're "doing" Ebay or thinking about it, even if you're just a buyer
you'll find this complete article very interesting... Just click on the title

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John is getting better by the day and started his first physical therapy
session today. He wasn't happy as he thought they would start him on some
real, solid food BEFORE he started physical therapy. He tires really fast and
is blaming it on the lack of food. They must make sure that his throat is in
good enough shape to handle solid food though. They are afraid that some may
contaminate his trachea, (windpipe), if he doesn't strengthen his throat
muscles first... John told his wife, Debbie, on the phone, that if they don't
give him "real" food he's going to refuse physical therapy. Of course Debbie
told him he'd better do as he's told as everything they do for him is another
step closer to his coming home.. Needless to say, John went to the therapy
session!
John's bitching.... That means he's getting better!

French
Luxury Store Apologizes to Oprah
PARIS (AP) - The luxury store Hermes has apologized to Oprah Winfrey for
turning her away from one of its Paris boutiques last week, saying it was
closed for a public relations event when she came knocking.
The talk-show host and "an entourage" unsuccessfully
tried to enter an Hermes boutique on Paris' posh Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore
at 6:45 p.m. on June 14, Hermes said in a statement.
"People were in the store and they were shopping. Oprah
was at the door and she was not allowed into the store," Gayle King, a friend
of Winfrey who witnessed the incident, told syndicated TV show "Entertainment
Tonight." "Oprah describes it herself as 'one of the most humiliating moments
of her life.'"
Poor Oprah.... If this is one of her most humiliating
moments, her life must have been up until now a living Hell! (NOT!)
I swear most of the "stars" lose their sense of
"reality" after a time of living in their own little cocoon. I'm sorry, but I
can't force myself to cough up any pity for her... I think her biggest
problem is NOT eating too much... I think I can have more pity for plenty of
folks, (and especially young children), in this, our country, who have little
or nothing to eat than Oprah and her entourage being humiliated by missing the
closing time of a "swank" store.
Sorry Oprah..... But you know you'll never be
back to that store again.... that's a "fer sure!"

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
I've got some great news for those of you who are keeping track of John's
recovery. Late yesterday afternoon I received a phone call and this guy said,
"Hey Chuck, what are you doing?" "Working", I said..... I said "Who is
this?" and when he answered John, it took a few seconds to realize that it was
really John-John. When we were down to visit him yesterday he was unable to
talk. This afternoon they place some kind of valve on the tube that is in his
trachea, (windpipe), that allows him to speak. And it allows him to talk
pretty good at that! As soon as I said John-John, Betty ran to pick up the
extension so she could join in our first conversation in over a month. Boy it
really felt great to hear John's voice again..... John is definitely on his
way back.......
Hang in there John-John..............

feel much better this morning than yesterday because with all the work piled
up, it seemed like it was impossible to caught up with anything.....

Married men earn more if wives do the chores?
LONDON (Reuters) - Married men earn more than bachelors so long as their wives
stay at home doing the housework, according to a report Wednesday from
Britain's Institute for Social and Economic Research (ISER).
Academics Elena Bardasi and Mark Taylor found that a
married man whose wife does not go out to work but is primarily responsible
for the cooking and cleaning earns about 3 percent more than comparably
employed single men.
But that wage premium disappears if wives go out to
work themselves or don't do most of the housework.

you remember until next year!

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
Yesterday, Betty and I, John's wife, Debbie and his brother Diz, took a ride
down to Philadelphia to see how John was doing. He's doing MUCH, MUCH better
than the last time I saw him.... He was sitting on his chair most of the day
and we were joking around with him. He still has the tube still in his
trachea, (windpipe), so it does not allow him to speak but between his "air
writing", and paper writing we pretty much had communication with him.
We could tell, now that he's feeling a bit better, than he wants to come home,
but he has a long way to go as he must go through "Re-Hab" and a a lot of
other "stuff" before they even think about sending him home....
It was a nice trip down to Philly and it took most of the day. We left here at
8:30 AM and didn't get back home until 10 minutes after 8 PM..... That's a
long day.. The drive isn't bad on the good 'ole PA turnpike but when you hit
that Schuylkill Expressway into Philly, the traffic is "murder"!
Hang in there John-John...........
************************************
Today is going to be a busy one here, in my home office as I didn't even get a
chance to pick up the mail yesterday. Plenty of work on my desks to last the
entire day without even getting any new mail. Of course I will though.
Sometimes we have to put work aside to take care of the daily problems of
life.. A trip to see John was what we all needed.. (Actually I
think it's what John needed as well.)
So today I'll be playing lots of "catch up" and once in a while maybe walking
outdoors to soak up a little of that "humid free" sunlight! Looks like
I'm in for a GREAT day!

Looks like another warm
sunny morning here in good ole' Central Pennsylvania. We are definitely out of
the cool spell here at the Blue Bird Cottage.... that's for sure! It's
supposed to go up into the mid 80s and be very humid.
I'm not looking forward to the weather but I AM looking forward to the day as
far as getting some work done.... All of a sudden, after yesterday's
mail, (Huge), I'm running behind with just about everything.

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John seems to improving daily as far as getting better goes... Now he's
decided to start calling his wife on the phone all by himself, (which believe
me, is quite an effort if you would have seen John just a week ago).
Apparently it doesn't matter to him that he cant' speak! His wife Debbie, told
Betty the first it happened yesterday morning while she was at work. She
picked up the phone only to hear heaving breathing on the other end. It took a
moment or two for her to realize that it was John.. I said
to Betty, "Looks like John is making obscene phone calls!" (Ha!) Yep, it looks
like the old John-John is starting to return. When Deb called the doctor this
afternoon to see how John was doing, and the doctor said he was looking at
John through the door at that very moment. He said John was sitting on the bed
with his #6 (Mark Martin), cap on with a show of both thumbs up! Yep
John is on his way back all right.
Hang in there John-John........

It's a nice sunny morning
here in Central Pennsylvania and it's supposed to get quite warm here today.
Yesterday it barely got above 70 degrees... The middle of our nation is
sweltering and it was like a nice Spring day here for us yesterday. No, I'm
not complaining, that's for sure! All of that will change now with the
warmer weather pattern setting in. Can't have it perfect all of the time!
We,
Betty and I didn't get much time to spend out on the deck over the weekend but
we did get a lot of outdoor work done. The weather was so nice it was hard to
resist diving into some things that had to be done regardless of the weather.
Finally I have all of the grass mowed and the lawn looking pretty good. Betty
washed the front of the house and did some trimming of here flower bushes
etc.. You can see the end result on the picture on the left....
This is a shot directly in front of my office. The sliding glass door you see
leads right into my office. If you like real close, you can see my large Duplo
printing machine right inside the large glass on the right.....
You can see that it's quite colorful around here this time of the year....
Oh,
I almost forgot.... I finally got my tomato plants in the ground last week. I
know it's late... I usually am... Now all I must do is try to keep the
geese from them.. I'm not sure they eat them but they like pulling them out
and stomping on them for some odd reason.

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
Although John can't talk yet because of the tube still in his trachea,
(windpipe), he DEFINITELY getting much better. On Saturday evening he "called"
his mom Betty, on the phone, well actually his nurse called, because he wanted
to hear her voice, and mine, I guess, before he went to bed. Do you know it's
really hard talking to someone on the phone that can't talk back. You find
yourself asking questions and then telling him not to try and answer as you
know it will hurt him. It's quite a situation, and I imagine that if you're
not, in on it, a little amusing.
John got his wife to bring his camera along when she went down to see him on
Saturday with his sister, Tammy. John was taking pictures of everything. I'll
have to stop down at his house to download them so she can take the camera
back to John.
He also told her, Debbie to bring along a set of his sweat pants and shirt for
physical therapy. Also his #6 Martin Martin cap. This is all from a guy that a
week ago was "out of it" and hardly knew where he was. Yes, I would say that
John is feeling much better. They want him to go to therapy down where he is
because all of his doctors are there, rather than come back home and go
elsewhere for physical therapy.
Hopefully Betty and I will get down to see him this week sometime...
Hang in there John-John..........

Mail order, MLM, and Home Business Workers...........
On Saturday I received a circular that was filled in with a guy's ID number,
name address etc. However on the coupon was no address of where he was
supposed to send his order. I have no idea why yet, but he sent me the filled
in coupon along with a check made out to me for $100.00 even... You
know, I love to get $100 orders, but not these kind. Now, I'm going to search
the WEB for his phone number and If no luck, I'll have to mail it back to him
along a letter trying to explain to him that I have no idea what it's all
about...
Hint...... If you design your own circulars, ALWAYS put the name and
address of the person or company on the coupon to who it's supposed to be
retuned to! Getting the order is hard enough..... WE are supposed to make it
as easy as possible for the customer to order.... I think we should at least
have our names and addresses in a prominent spot on the order form!

Darwin Awardees of 2005
Yes, it's that magical time of the year again when the Darwin Awards >> are
bestowed, honoring the least evolved among us. Here are the glorious winners.
Darwin Award Winner:
1. When his 38-caliber revolver failed to fire at his
intended victim during a hold-up in Long Beach, California, would-be robber
James >> Elliot did something that can only inspire wonder. He peered down the
barrel and tried the trigger again. This time it worked.
And now, the honorable mentions:
2. The chef at a hotel in Switzerland lost a finger in
a meat-cutting machine and, after a little hopping around, submitted a claim
to his insurance company. Expecting negligence, the company sent out one of
its men to have a look for himself. He tried the machine and lost a finger.
The chef's claim was approved.
3. A man who shoveled snow for an hour to clear a space
for his car during a blizzard in Chicago returned with his vehicle to find a
woman had taken the space. Understandably, he shot her.
4. After stopping for drinks at an illegal bar, a
Zimbabwean bus >> driver found that the 20 mental patients he was supposed to
be transporting from Harareto Bulawayo had escaped.
Not wanting to admit his incompetence, the driver went to a nearby bus stop
and offered everyone waiting there a free ride. He then delivered the
passengers to the mental hospital, telling the staff that the patients were
very excitable and prone to bizarre fantasies. The deception wasn't discovered
for 3 days.
5. An American teenager was in the hospital recovering
from serious >> head wounds received from an oncoming train. When asked how he
received >> the injuries, the lad told police that he was simply trying to see
how >> close he could get his head to a moving train before he was hit.
6. A man walked into a Louisiana Circle-K, put a $20
bill on the counter, and asked for change. When the clerk opened the cash
drawer, the man pulled a gun and asked for all the cash in the register, which
the clerk promptly provided. The man took the cash from the clerk and fled,
leaving the $20 bill on the counter.
The total amount of cash >> he got from the drawer was $15. (If someone points
a gun at you and >> gives you money, is a crime committed?)
7. Evidently, an Arkansas guy wanted some beer pretty
badly.
He >> decided that he'd just throw a cinderblock through a liquor store
window, grab some booze, and run. So, he lifted the cinderblock and heaved it
over his head at the window. The cinderblock bounced back and hit the would-be
thief on the head, knocking him unconscious. The liquor >> store window was
made of Plexiglas. The whole event was caught on videotape.
8. As a female shopper exited a New York convenience
store, a man grabbed her purse and ran. The clerk called 911 immediately, and
the woman was able to give them a detailed description of the snatcher.
Within minutes, the police apprehended the snatcher. They put him in the car
and drove back to the store.
The thief was then taken out of the car and told to stand there for a positive
ID, to which he replied, "Yes, officer, that's her. That's the lady I stole
the purse from."
9. The Ann Arbor News crime column reported that a man
walked into a Burger King in Ypsilanti, Michigan, at 5 a.m., flashed a gun,
and demanded cash. The clerk turned him down because he said he couldn't open
the cash register without a food order. When the man ordered >> onion rings,
the clerk said they weren't available for breakfast. >> Frustrated, the man
walked away.
10. When a man attempted to siphon gasoline from a
motor home parked >> on a Seattle street, he got much more than he bargained
for.
Police arrived at the scene to find a very sick man curled up next to a motor
home near spilled sewage. A police spokesman said that the man >> admitted to
trying to steal gasoline and plugged his siphon hose into the motor home's
sewage tank by mistake. The owner of the vehicle declined to press charges,
saying that it was the best laugh he'd ever had.

T.G.I.F.
It's another nice, sunny morning here in Central Pennsylvania.
A nice day to end the week. I'm really looking forward to a nice weekend.
I went to a Physical Therapist yesterday for the first time with sore neck
problems that began over a month ago. At first I just thought that I had
"slept wrong" and that it would go away. Well, it didn't. I had x-rays at my
G.P. Doctor and he recommended the therapy after he said he thought the pain
was all because of arthritis in my neck. After the therapist examined me he
agreed that was the problem. The cure, none, but the therapy is supposed to
help clear up the pain. We'll see....

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John is improving daily. Yesterday he started to do more and more for himself.
He now understands much more about what is going on. He's even getting mobile
enough to use the rest room. That's quite an improvement since Betty and
I saw him last.
This is good news for us all.. Boy, there for awhile we all tried to keep an
optimistic attitude but we all knew, deep down that it was touch and go.
Now, with the recent improvements in John's condition, we all have a better
outlook and things are actually looking
up.
Hang in there John-John........

Workers keep right to flirt

If that's the biggest beef that their workers have, I'd say they're just not
busy enough. I say keep it out of the work. There's plenty of time after work

watch the employees flirt with each other. Heck it's hard enough now to get
anyone to help you. If they allow that, and it sure looks like they are, at

It's another sunny, VERY
warm morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania and looks
like we're in for a GREAT day!
I had to make a trip yesterday to my heart doctor's complex for a "stress"
test. It's one of those tests that if you weren't stressed, you will be the
day of the test as you are preparing for it for 2 days in advance. Don't drink
or eat this or that 3 days, 2 days, 24 hours, 12 hours and finally the day of
the test! I had to cut out a lot of my heart medicine 2 days before and that
worried me more than the test did! Worry, worry, worry before I took the
"stress" test... No wonder they call the darn thing a "stress" test! You're
REALLY "stressed" out by the time you take it. I won't know how it turned out
until my follow up appointment with my heart doctor..
Now that I'm back on my regular medicine, I feel much better already!
************************************
Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John had visitors yesterday as his wife Debbie and brother Diz went down to
see him. Of course I didn't go as I had the heart test and Betty didn't go as
she wanted to be with me......
At any rate, yesterday afternoon Debbie called us from John's room and Betty
and I both had a chance to say hello to John as Debbie held up the receiver to
John's ear.
Debbie said he was very aware that we were talking to him but, of course he
couldn't answer as he still has that darned tube in his trachea, (windpipe).
They stayed there the entire day and promised John, that Debbie would be back
to see him on Saturday. I'll be glad when John gets transferred closer to home
as anyone who had driven on the Schuylkill Expressway down Philly way, knows
it's a real experience. Also, from where we live it's about a 2˝ hour drive...
(Debbie got home last night at 9:05 PM.)
Debbie said they were almost constantly "pumping" and clearing John's lungs.
This sounds great because that means he will recover much faster.
Hang in there John-John.......
***********************************
Mail order, MLM, and Home Business Workers...........
When sending any kind of order to any to your fellow home workers, or anyone
else, for gosh sakes take the time to fill out and Print your information on
the order form so it's legible. I received an application for entry into our Pre-Launch
downline builder for the
Elements
program, just yesterday. I could decipher the guy's name and address but his
credit card information was beyond recognition! I tried several numbers which
the string of numbers could have been and all came back declined. I finally
through up my hands and decided to give him a phone call. He had supplied me
with a phone number and I could read it.... I called and a lady answered
the phone to inform me that he was not home. "When will he be home?", I asked,
and I'll give him a call back. She wasn't sure and told me that it wasn't
worth my time or effort to call him back as he was deaf. I explained to her
that all I needed was confirmation of his credit card number. She said she had
no idea what his number was and didn't offer to ask him for it either......
Sooo.... you guessed it, I had to take time to write him a letter to tell him
the situation and ask him again to re-send his information and take the time
to write more clearly. (Yeah, I know, that's going to sit like a "lead balloon
with him.") All of this which ended up being well over an hour as
Betty and I spent almost a half hour trying to figure out the numbers and
calling them into the Merchant Service office, etc.
So, tip of the day..... Take time to fill out any kind of order, etc.,
properly before mailing it off for fulfillment. Just place your self in the
other person place who will be opening that order.
************************************
In the news..........
Michael Jackson walks FREE!
Did you ever expect anything else? I think Fred Willard summed it up pretty
good night before last, on the Jay Leno Show..
When asked by Leno how it was possible that Jackson escaped all the charges
against him, Willard replied, "Come on Jay, if we locked up all the
celebrities in California that did things they should be jailed for, the jails
in California would be overflowing!" (That's probably true.)
At any rate, against all odds..... the 14 week, wasted, so called trial, is
over and Jackson is FREE again to rebuild his fortune. Let's face it, he's
actually better off. Being in the news that long could do nothing more than
boost his name and popularity. I've heard some "scuttlebutt" that Donald Trump
was having talks with him. Probably setting up for him to entertain at Trump's
casinos....
Oh well, what's that old saying, "Those that have get and those that don't,
don't!" (Of course that means they get more things, and money etc., NO, they
don't always get what's coming to them!)
I just hope that he's done "sleeping" with little boys now........ But
with his "record", who knows for sure!

It's another beautiful,
sunny, but very hot morning here in Central Pennsylvania. I'm looking forward
to another productive day here in my Home Office.
***********************************
The river that runs through our back yard is sinking farther and farther back
into it's banks. Even with the rains we've received this week it seems like
the big river is shrinking. We're supposed to have a nice weekend. I
can always tell how the river is by watching the activity on it. As the river
shrinks, so do the size of the water craft and the fast boats either get
slower, (because of the rocks), or they disappear to the deeper parts of the
river and the small bass boats, canoes, and kayaks take over. It's still fun
to watch all that's going on in the river and I think this heats going to let
up some, so maybe Betty and I can cook out on the deck and just do some
watching. I'd also like to get some mowing done as it's just been too darn hot
to work in the yard. At least that's the plan. For the moment anyway.
*************************************
Update on John-John, Betty's son...
It seems now that John has been moved to a "regular" room at the hospital,
he's becoming more responsive. Yesterday he took an interest in the TV and
actually watched it off and on for awhile. He still can't speak with that darn tube
in his trachea, (windpipe), so I guess no one actually knows for sure just how
he feels. With the tube in, they say it enables them to help clear his lungs, (pumping out
the mucus), off and on throughout the day and that can only mean that his
pneumonia will clear up, and as Martha would say, "That's a good thing."
Hang in there John-John.....

It's a beautiful day in the
neighborhood.... (Wait a minute, I think I've heard that before, on TV.)
............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
It's nice an sunny out and it's supposed to get VERY hot and VERY humid today.
Sounds like a good day to hole up in my office with the air conditioners.
*********************************
Betty's roses have started blooming and they are putting on quite a show.
Here's a beautiful reddish/pink one that just opened this morning. Wow! It
sure stands out in the garden. (I just took the picture about 10 minutes ago!)
This particular garden is right out in front of the sliding glass door to my
office. Talk about having a GREAT view!
Talking about plants my tomatoes are ready to transplant. I'm going to put
them down along the river as usual so they get a full day of sunshine... I
know I'm running late getting them in but when have you ever heard of me
getting anything done on time... Heck that's been so long ago I even
forget!
It would be much easier if I could just go to the store and buy seedlings, but
the tomatoes we've come to really like, I must start from seeds... With
this "weird" weather we've been having the last few years it's hard to tell
anymore when to plant the seeds... I planted 10 seeds and 9 of the 10
germinated so I'll have 9 good plants, assuming I don't get them into the soil
too late to give them time to mature.. These are the tomatoes that we
literally get over a hundred tomatoes from each plant.. They don't get
real big.... maybe about a 3 inches diameter, much bigger than a plum tomato
and are they ever tasty! I wouldn't trade them for any brand. Last year
I put in a couple of Burpee's Big Girls and Big Boys.... I was lucky to get 4
or 5 tomatoes from each.... Big deal... That's okay if I was
planting an acre of them. However, I only have room for a few plants and I
must get top production from anything I plant... At any rate I hope to get
them transplanted in the next couple of days.
************************************
Update on John-John, Betty's son...
Last night John FINALLY got moved out of the ICU Unit and into a regular room
on the "transplant floor." Yipee!!! He now has a window! There, of course, are
no windows in the ICU and he was in there for 2 weeks. When he could speak, he
would look at the clock and ask the nurses if it was daytime or nighttime.
Yes, I would imagine after being sedated most of the time, it would get
confusing.
Now he has a TV but the nurses said the John is not interested in watching it.
He can sit up some in a chair but still cannot speak as he still has the tube
in his trachea, (windpipe).
At least being moved to a regular room indicates that John is on his way to
recovery.
Hang in there John-John.....
************************************
We, Betty and I, have a bulk mail ready to go to the post office today. All I
must do yet is weigh it, do the paperwork, and write the check. Now, we can
start to get ready for another one. I'd like to get out an extra one this
month, if we can... At least that's what I'm shooting for.
As yesterday was Monday I received quite a pile of mail... I've been though it
and have it all sorted but that's about as far as I've gotten with it... Lot's
of orders and inquiries to do as well.....
With all of the work in mind I'd better get back to work, and YOU,
YOU have a GREAT Tuesday!!!

It's a bright, sunny
morning here in Central Pennsylvania.
Wow, what a weekend..... Saturday wasn't too bad as I did get a lot done.
Printing being one of my major activities on Saturday. However, Sunday was a
complete bust! I booted my computers up yesterday to start work and found out
immediately that I was NOT on the WEB! My high speed Internet service had quit
working. In a few hours after I had exhausted everything I knew that could be
wrong with my equipment I decided to call Comcast. Like all the companies now
days it takes 10 minutes on the phone, (at least), until you are finally able
to speak with a "real live person!"
On the first call I reached a lady. I tried to explain that all was fine when
I shut down all of my equipment on Saturday evening. I told her how my cable
modem was working... The first 3 lights, the Power, PC Link, and Cable
lights were flashing but it would not connect and the 4 activity light
wouldn't do anything. Right away, she knew the answer. It was not enough
electricity getting to the modem! I said to her, "What are you talking about",
it's not like it runs on 220 amps or something... If it had no "juice" nothing
would light up.. She kept insisting so I finally gave up, thanked her, and
told her that I would check that problem..
On my second call back, I got some guy. I asked him if he could check somehow
to see if there was any problem where I lived with the Internet cable... He
asked my how our TV reception was and I told him fine. He said hold on....
which I did for about 5 minutes... He came back and said the only problem he
could find was that my modem was NOT hooked to to cable.... "Hey, wait a
minute, isn't that why I was calling in the first place?" He said he had no
one available to look at it until Tuesday evening between 5PM and 7PM...
I told him I'd make sure I was here.
Last evening I left the modem hooked up and turned on.... The light
continually flashed trying to make a connection with the cable. Betty even
woke me around 3AM to tell me that lights were flashing in the office which I
explained was the cable modem..
Would you believe it when I awoke this morning and came out to turn on my
computers, the modem was connected. I fired up the computers and sure enough
they were back up and working on the WEB... Both the woman and the guy
indicated that the problem was with my equipment or the cable in my
office..... Hmmmmmm..... looks to me like the problem was with THEIR
cable! At any rate, after that HELL yesterday of trying to get on the WEB with
netzero just to get my email is over and all is back to normal this morning.
Thank goodness!

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
According to John's care tenders at the hospital in Philly, John did a bit
better yesterday and was even sitting in a chair yesterday for several hours.
Although he was dozing off once in a while this is a definite improvement for
John.
We spoke with his wife Debbie this morning and John had a rough night last
night with little sleep.
The Doctor is still talking about moving him out of ICU on onto the regular
transplant floor sometime today or tomorrow however and that will definitely
be a sign that John IS getting better... We sure hope so....
Hang in there John-John......

Well our close Chinese friend, Jason is working his last day today at our
favorite restaurant and we will be making a trip down to say goodbye..
It's sad as Betty and I have really become close with him and Betty AND him
call each other grandmother and grandson... At any rate I'm putting the
finishing touches on our Bulk Mailing that Betty did get assembled yesterday
and I have a few things to get done before we take off to the post office
etc.... so for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a
GREAT day!

T.G.I.F
It's a dreary, cloudy day
here in Central Pennsylvania. Boy, did we ever get the
Thunder Storms last evening! They're calling for more of that crap this
afternoon and evening all over again.
Summer has arrived that's for sure as Betty's posies are blooming all over the
place. This picture, on the left, is one of two huge pots, one on each side of
the sliding glass door of my office.
It's really getting colorful around here lately. Everything was pretty well
soaked when I snapped this picture last evening after the last thunder storm
went through.
I didn't even get a chance yet to walk around the yard to see how much damage
this one left as it barreled through our quiet little part of heaven, here
above the small town of Dauphin along the mighty Susquehanna River.....
Maybe after I upload this post, I'll grab my cup of coffee and do a
"walk-around" the yard to see what I'm in for if it cools down a bit over the
weekend. It's just too darn hot to even think about working in the yard right
now... Maybe when I was younger, (when was that anyway), was I EVER
younger.....????? hmmmm..... sometimes it's been so long ago I can't
remember then...... At any rate, these days, the weather rules my schedule
much more than my ambition does... and that's a "fer sure!"
************************************
Update on John-John, Betty's son...
I'm afraid that for poor John yesterday wasn't a GREAT day as his doctor
decided it was best to finally put a tube in John's trachea, (windpipe), to
help him breathe and get the breathing tube out of his throat and maybe allow
him to eat solid foods, etc... He's not eaten or taken a drink in almost
two weeks! Poor John, he's really having a tough time. The doctor claims
this will get John out of the ICU faster and onto the regular transplant floor
faster.. I sure hope so for John's sake. I'm not sure just how much punishment
the human body can take but it looks like John is trying to find out!
Hang in there John-John.......

I received another box of 1,000 circulars yesterday from a customer to mail
for him. Those of you who are in my business, Mail Order/MLM etc., who need
your preprinted circulars mailed for a reasonable cost, don't forget I've
started to mail again. 4˘ each for 8" X 10" circulars with a 200 minimum.
Actually there is no maximum, but I can only mail about 800 of them a month...
so if you send several thousand, please take that into account. Rest assured
that each and every circular will be mailed to a good prospect for your
offer... If you need them printed as well as mailed, Print &
Mail, check out my
Print & Mail Service, just click
here. This is going to be a very productive summer
for our kind of business with a lot of people trying to "hustle an extra buck"
to help pay bills and the high cost of gasoline etc. Keep mailing!!!
*************************************
I'm going to be working a lot over the weekend preparing both first class
mailings and bulk mailings. Remember with this business nothing happens unless
you advertise.... If you're in the mail order or MLM business, it won't
do you any good to tack a sign on your door that reads, "I'm in the mail order
business, please stop in and give me an order." I know it sounds stupid
to even write that but you'd be surprised how many folks join an MLM program
and then sit back and wait to get rich. How they ever expect to make a nickel
without promoting their opportunity, I'll never figure out... and I'm pretty
sure that they won't as well..
*************************************
Well, the weekend is almost here and I've got plenty to do before mine starts,
so for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT
weekend!!!

The sun's out now, here in
Central Pennsylvania but we may see "thunder boomers" around here before the
day is over... Boy, it's been REALLY hot around here the last few days and
it's supposed to stay that way for awhile. Heck over the weekend there were a
couple of nights we had to turn the heater on to stay warm. Talk about a quick
change in the weather....
I know I'm sure not used to the warm weather as of yet... Either that, or I've
gotten awful lazy the last couple of days... (I guess that's possible...
hmmmmmmm....)
*************************************************************
Welcome
to Dauphin.....
I took the picture of the Dauphin sign, on the left, a couple of months ago.
If you look close you can still see some snow on the ground. Since the state
built the new highway around Dauphin there is very little traffic through the
main street of town. This center piece of the road was installed, with old
fashion street lights, after the new highway opened. You can see one of
the old street lights right in the center of the sign at the top. At night,
when they're lit up, they look like the old gas street lights. Really
cool..... Now it DOES look like an old fashion "one-horse" town! Now the
most exciting parts of Dauphin's day is when the Pizza shop and the post
office open each day! Wow!

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John's wife and brother went down to Philly to see him yesterday. Although
John is STILL in the ICU, they say he is looking much, much better and has
lost his "Yellow Jaundice" color, and has returned to his natural color. He
still has some lung "issues" but the doctor was talking about moving him to
the "transplant floor" from the ICU which would indicate a DEFINITE
improvement on John's recovery status.
Also, even though John is still confused somewhat, he, for the first time in
the last month was communicating legibly with his wife Debbie and his brother,
Diz. He was even joking some which REALLY sounds like a BIG improvement.
Hang in there John-John........

I've had a merchant's credit card account with my bank for over 10 years. Now
they have decided to change "carriers", whatever that means and I must take my
time to go to the bank and sign the papers etc., to make the change. I was
happy with the other carrier but apparently the bank isn't anymore. I swear
sometimes people like these do idiotic, dumb, worthless changes just to make
it look like they are necessary for their job.
Now, whomever thought this "change" up, is probably patting himself/herself on
the back for thinking of it... Yeah...... right.......
That's means I'll have to waste about 2 hours of my time to make it happen....
Oh well, if I want to continue to accept credit cards, I'll have to do it no
matter how much I bitch.....
************************************
We, Betty and I, almost have another bulk mailing ready to assemble and get
out of here. Hopefully we'll have it out by Saturday...
Yes, I'm getting back into the bulk mail business. I've started publishing my
print edition of Chuck's Mail
Order News & Opportunities and have also started my
Print & Mail Service and my Mailing Service up
again..
I'm looking forward to mailing a lot again.... It's actually fun.... and
a lot of work... at the same time!

I do have a bunch of "stuff" to get done before my trip to the post office and
the bank, so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a

It's a sunny morning here
at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania, and it's supposed to stay
really nice and HOT all day!
Look like we're in for a very productive day, here in my home office. Boy, did
it ever get hot again yesterday. We did not get any storms last night though
like we did on Monday evening.
The storm on Monday evening "got" us more than I thought it did. Besides all
of the fallen limbs all over the yard, Betty's phone was "knocked out" and one
of my phones, here in the office was "put out of order" as well. Mine is a
different phone company than Betty has. I got my phone back in working order
last evening but I don't think Betty's is working even this morning. I'll have
to call the repair service again.
Oh well, with all of the damage, I'm sure the telephone repair men had more
than their share of work the last couple of days.

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John was out of bed and sitting on a chair for awhile yesterday. That's the
first time he's been out of his bed since he received his new liver last
Sunday. Thank goodness he's showing some improvement. He also seems a bit more
aware of what's happening around him and asked when his wife, Debbie, was
coming down to see him. His doctor says he still has trouble with his lungs
and wishes that John was stronger and could "cough up" some of the mucus in
his lungs. He, the doctor, is still "up in the air" about whether he is going
to put a tube in John's trachea, (windpipe). He says he could "pump" out the
stuff in John's lungs if he does that, but he would sooner have John expel it
on his own....
Hang in there John-John......
**********************************
I am sending out some more ads for the our Pre-Launch
downline builder for the
Elements
program today. I've also printed some circulars and am sending them to some
mailers to help get "the word" out. Also, I'm going to take some time and run
some camera/ready circulars to send to some "first class" print and mailers as
well. This in addition to my own "first class" and "bulk" mailings. I've been
signing up a lot of new members this way and I want to keep that flow
strong... Remember, the more I sign up, the more overspill I'll be able to
give everyone. Of course the same goes for any member of the Pre-Launch.
This program is growing by leaps and bounds and I don't want to quit, or even
slow up, my "Advertising drive" for it.
************************************
Well, with all of that in mind, for me, I'd better get my butt back to work,
and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!!!

It's a beautiful sunny
morning here in Central Pennsylvania.
I had a great day yesterday and really got caught up with a lot of work and
new orders etc. Also, being a Monday I had a large pile of mail. I actually
have processed all the mail and am now working on the orders and inquiries...
Things are definitely looking up!
*********************************
Update on John-John, Betty's son...
Things are looking up for John as well. Yesterday they took out his
breathing tube that was down his throat and he is now out of the sedation
enough to actually talk! That's really got Betty and I excited as we have not
heard John actually talk for over a month! The nurse asked his name and the
name of his wife which he answered properly. Then she congratulated him on his
new liver which he was surprised to find out that he had already received the
transplant.
His lungs are still foggy, (on the x-ray), but the doctors can't seem to agree
if the pneumonia has improved or not. They will be doing more checking on that
today. Such wonderful good news today!
Hang in there John-John......
**********************************
We had some really bad thunderstorms here at the Blue Bird Cottage yesterday
afternoon and evening with some damage but not as much as there could have
been... Limbs and debris all over the yard to clean up and burn. If it
isn't one thing it's another... it seems... Oh well I guess we'd better count
our blessings that it wasn't worse as by the looks of the local news on the
television, it seems that everyone in the area did not fare out as good as we
did!

For My Home Business Friends
If you are promoting any kind of program or product, you probably have 8˝ X
11" circulars that you are using. Now you can have them "uploaded" to the WEB
at our High Traffic OAMA web site for a song! Your circular will be scanned,
uploaded, and assigned a special, one of a kind, URL internet address that
you'll be able to use in your advertising.
I think the best reason to place your circular on the WEB is for the cheap way
open for you to advertise your product or opportunity. You'll be able to place
"small" classified ads and just refer your prospects directly to your circular
for "all the information" and a coupon for them to print, fill out and mail
in! It's great and a heck of a lot better than using a fax to promote with.
With a fax, you or your prospect must pay for the phone call and then print
with THEIR fax machine and THEIR paper and THEN read it to see if they're
interested. This way they can check it out and read your offer for "nothing"
to see if they are interested and then print it on their printer only if they
want to act on it.
How much to scan your circular, upload it, and supply you with a unique URL
address? Only $20 each, and we will keep it up and maintain it for an
entire year!!! Then if you decide to keep it up for another year... the rate
will be half price or only $10!!!
You can't "beat it with a stick" for prime advertising!!!!! Click
right HERE for more
information!!! YOUR Circular on
the WEB!!!
************************************
I still have a bunch to get done before my daily trip to the post office, so
for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT
Tuesday!!!

It's a nice sunny morning
here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania but the weather folks are
calling for rain off and on, especially this afternoon. Oh well we had a VERY
nice weekend and I did get plenty done. Mostly outside though, I'm afraid, not
much done in the office.
I finished mowing the yard and Betty and I got the air conditioners ready for
the Summer. As a matter of fact, we turned them on for a few hours yesterday
as it went into the low 80s and was very humid.. It seems like one day
we have the heaters on and the next day the air conditioners... It's a
crazy time of the year....
I have an appointment at the heart doctors this morning. It's for an
electrocardiogram so it won't take that long... Just enough time to screw up
most of the morning... No big deal just a regular check up... Far as I
know my ticker's doing the best job it can....

Update on John-John, Betty's son...
John's still hanging in there and has improved a little over the
weekend.
They took an x-ray to check the pneumonia in his lungs yesterday but as of
now, we've not heard the results of that test. His "main" doctor, the one that
actually preformed the liver transplant, said he may replace John's breathing
tube down his throat and place a breathing tube directly into his trachea.
Although this is another site for infection the d |
