T.G.I.F.
It's an absolutely beautiful morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central
Pennsylvania. Low humidity, temps only supposed to go into the 80's.... We're
in for a Fantastic day!!!
Yesterday was a GREAT day as well.
Betty and I took off fairly early yesterday morning so we could get to the
bank and get to her son John's for me to have a look at his computer.
John was waiting for us as his computer's been down now for several days and
he REALLY misses it especially now that he's "laid up" and trapped at home
waiting to heal enough to go back to work.
Whatever happened to his computer it put it in a sad shape... Every time
it was booted it went into the dreaded,
"blue screen of
death". Try to "boot" it up in the "safety mode" and there
again was the blue screen.... Try to "boot" it up to a C prompt and the blue
screen again and it just would not go anywhere....
I couldn't get to the CD ROM Drive as it would not let me get to any kind of
prompt to transfer it to there so I could re-install Windows XP.... It seemed
hopeless. Then I got the idea that got us out of the fix. I tried to "re-boot"
again and this time I went to the computer "set up" files... There isn't
a whole lot you can do in there as you can't boot from there but there was one
important thing I COULD do and that was to change the "boot up disk" from
drive C to the CD ROM drive... which I did. I pushed "save and exit" and then
I shut down the computer.
I turned the computer on for a few seconds, just long enough to open the CD
Rom drive and place the Windows XP disk in it and closed it. I then shut the
computer down again and restarted it..... This time when it started it went
right to the CD Rom Drive and booted right into "Windows Set Up". Perfect as
this is what we wanted!!!! I went to re-install Windows XP and it told
me it would have to re-format the C drive. That was also perfect as John
wanted to re-format the drive anyway!
From there on it was just a "waiting game" for Windows to re-format the
drive and to load all of Window's XP files. It would stop once in a while for
information to be typed in but from there on it was pretty much "gravy."
After that was done I re-booted and went back in to basic "computer set-up"
and reset the "boot" drive for C again and that was it.
Of course I knew John would have to spend the afternoon loading all of his
"drivers" and programs back into it. At that time, it was just like the
computer was brand new!
We then decided to go out and eat some lunch. We all went in my Jeep and John
treated. When we got back to his place I commented on how badly his lawn
needed mowed. He said, "I have the mower and gasoline out in the shed." Okay I
said.... this shouldn't take that long.... so while he and Betty went into the
house to chit chat while John was loading drivers, I mowed the lawn. By the
time that was done I was ready to come home and jump into the tub.
Finally, back in the office, I started to get to the mail I had just picked
up.
I really got a lot done yesterday and felt really good about that...
*******************************************
I have a lot to do today before I start my weekend but it really doesn't
matter as most of my weekend I'm afraid I'll be in my office anyway as with
the month is ending on Sunday, I'm in for a lot of work as I must get done the
"end of the month" stuff like the
Once A Month Association, the
Newsletter,
monthly statements, and the
OAMA Monthly Member Benefit
Directory, and of course the checks etc.
Then of course this month also,
the two downline builders are running out on Sunday evening. The
$2=SUCCESS
downline builder, Phase VIII, and the
Pre-Launch
downline builder. I'll be writing newsletters for both and designing "Sign-Up"
Packets for both programs. Then, this coming week, I'll be running downline
statements for both..... Yes, this new month, August, starting Monday is
going to be VERY busy around here!
*******************************************
I'm really, actually looking forward to all of it though as everything is
coming together just fine with the downline builder
$2=SUCCESS
Phase VIII, and also the
Pre-Launch
program for the
Elements business program. Yep, we're going to place a lot of folks into
the downlines of both programs, and there are going to be a lot of
VERY HAPPY home
business people that had enough fore-sight to get into the programs and
promote them! A LOT OF PEOPLE!!!
********************************************
Well, as mentioned above, lots to get done today, so for me, it's time to get
back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Weekend!!!

It's a beautiful sunny
morning here in Central Pennsylvania and the humidity is supposed to go down
as the day progresses. That's just fine as far as I'm concerned. I can use
some cooler days... Looks like we may be in for a GREAT weekend.
This will be a busy weekend as the end of the month is Sunday and I must get
done the "end of the month" stuff like the
Once A Month Association, the
Newsletter,
monthly statements, and the
OAMA Monthly Member Benefit
Directory, and
of course the checks etc. That's a job and a half and I'll be looking forward
to getting all of it done... It will probably me late Sunday until it's
finished. This weekend will find me in the office a lot.
I never did get a chance to check out Betty's son John's computer yesterday as
when we got there he wasn't home! Now that the guy's on his feet it's hard to
keep up with him. I'll try to run down today
if I can get some time to check it out.
Things are starting to back up a bit and I do have two downline builders
running out on the 31st of this month. The
$2=SUCCESS
downline builder, Phase VIII, and the
Pre-Launch
downline builder.
Pretty soon it will be time for newsletters and joining kits to assemble and
mail to all the down-liners in both programs.
************************************
It looks like we need another Supreme Court Justice, (yeah, you bet, like
another hole in the head...) Bush has nominated John G. Roberts Jr. for the
position and right away someone throws up a web site to give us, (you and I),
and chance to sign a petition to confirm him to the job. Of course on the same
site they also want you to click the button that says, "Donate to help us
confirm Judge Roberts".....
Click right here
to see this gem.
I must have missed something here.... The current president, George W. Bush
nominates this dude for the biggest "gravy" job in the United States court
system and they are trying to "squeeze" more money out of us to put him in...
What would they need the money for, to advertise on television or radio? What
better press could he get other than a nod from the current president? These
damn politicians are ALWAYS out for more money! They just never can get their
hands on enough of the green stuff.
Let's face it, once this dude gets appointed, he's there for life!
That's another thing that's bothered me since I was a kid. Most of the time
I've never questioned the intentions of our forefathers as most of the time
they were wise and their writings prove it.
But why in the heck would you appoint someone to a life time position on the
highest court in the land....
Believe me I've seen a lot of 70 - 80 - and 90 year olds that barely knew
where they were at, let alone what was moral dress codes for the beaches these
days...
These folks are actually controlling our lives, all U. S. citizens, and some
are too old to know what's acceptable and what's not for the times we live
in...
What will it take for us to use A LITTLE COMMON SENSE and put some office term
limits on these people? How damn dumb is everyone???? Wait a minute,
better not answer that as you might learn just how severe the Patriot Act is
and end up in the clinker. You know the law they passed in the middle of the
night.......
The law that was meant to protect us after 9-11.... The law that says
now the government can come into your private home anytime they please and
they don't even need a "search warrant"! Yep, that's the one...
Okay, okay.... I'll stop ranting..... It's just that every time I think
of the government getting bigger and bigger and us ending up with less rights,
it upsets me as when the subject does come up in conversation, most people I
talk to don't give a darn. After all, nothing bad will happen to them because
it always happens to the next guy, right?
No one will come into their homes at 3 o'clock in the morning with automatic
weapons tearing their house up looking for income tax records that you may
have "forgotten" to claim, or to take whatever weapons you have to protect
yourself and you family that the constitution guarantees you.... Naw... that
would NEVER happen to you as you are an "upstanding member" of your community.
I sure hope that it never does...... But it just bothers me that it IS
possibility now the way they have passed and manipulated new laws to allow
this sort of action...
*********************************
Oops, there I go, rambling again. I did want to "cover" a couple of other
things but they'll have to wait until tomorrow as I have piles of work on my
desks staring at me and they won't get any smaller by me staring back at 'em.....
soooooooo for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT
Thursday!!!

It's a sunny day here at
the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania but it's still VERY hot and VERY
humid. Our weather forecasters are promising us just one more day of this
ungodly weather and then it's supposed to do some cooling off. Thank
goodness... it's just too darn hot to do anything out doors... at least for
this old codger anyway.. I wanted to get down to the river and stake up
my tomatoes but I'll have to wait 'til it cools a bit. If I try to do it now,
I'll probably just stay down there and burn fast to the stake! Come to think of
it, there are probably a couple of people that wouldn't mind me being burned
at the stake! But that's another story....... Ha!
Enough for wishful thinking!
I received a letter yesterday that my pre-paid monthly dues had run out for
one of my favorite companies that I promote,
Tape Of The Month. This is the company
that I use my small downline builder, the
$2=SUCCESS
downline builder, Phase VIII to promote it.
I usually pay my dues 6 months in advance and that saves me from putting it on
one of my charge calls or paying it monthly. It makes it a lot easier. I'm
sure glad they sent me a reminder when my pre-paid dues are running out as I'd
sure hate to lose a monthly commission check from missing to pay them! The
commission check is a heck of a lot more than 6 months worth of dues, heck
even worth more than a years worth of dues, that's for sure! I like
dealing with the Tape Of The Month
company (ID #14338) as they are VERY professional in everything they do. In
the 3 or so years I've been with them they have NEVER been late with a
commission check, monthly newsletter etc. They have always been true to their
word and provide an 800 toll free number with very nice people at the other
end to answer all my questions... Can't beat it with a stick!
*******************************************
I rented a movie at our library day before yesterday called,
"Hitch", and we watched it
last evening. I normally like
Will Smith any way and I really like
Kevin James, from "King of
Queens", but this movie really out performed my expectations! Whoever did the
casting on this movie could not have chosen two actors who really fit the
roles better than Will and Kevin.... I thought it was a comedy and it
was, but it was also a love story as well. I'm personally NOT "into" love
stories but this is one movie that I must make an exception for! I'm a movie
"freak" and I swear this is the best one I've seen in months. I don't recall
this movie being a "giant" hit at the box office but I think we must have
missed this one for some reason. If you're looking for a great movie for you
and your spouse to watch for fun and drama, then rent this one... You won't be
sorry...
The kids won't like this one unless they're older though so wait 'til you and
your better half can see it together....
*******************************************
It seems that Betty's son John's computer went to the dreaded
"blue screen of
death" day before yesterday and I want to try and get some time to stop
down at his place today and have a look at it.
I think the main problem with his computer is that it has "Dell" written on
the front of it! It's been nothing but a hassle since he bought it and (over
paid for it), as well.
I remember last Fall he wanted to upgrade the memory and he found a good deal
on 500 megs..... He went to install it and found out that only original
Dell memory would fit his computer! He paid about $60 bucks for the stick but
when he checked to see what Dell wanted they had to have almost $400 for the
same amount of memory! Needless to say, John still has the same amount
of RAM in his box as he had last Fall!
******************************************
I still have plenty that I must do before I head out to the Post Office and
some other errands today, so for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU
have a GREAT day!!!

It's another beautiful
sunny, but VERY hot AND humid morning here in Central Pennsylvania. Seems like
almost every day brings thunderstorms here lately.
The rabbits around here must really thrive in this heat as it seems every time
I turn around I see a few more small ones about the same size. (Out of the
same litter.) Also, we have a baby ground hog, (wood chuck) hanging around
right outside my office door. That's what scares me, I sure hope he's
not living under the office or what ever..
They are really a damage prone animal.
I don't know if I ever told you the story of when I was a kid, back on the
farm ... but here it is anyway......
I had just plowed this pretty nice sized field. I'd say about 20 some acres
and went out the next day to run the disc harrows over it. For you city folks,
this machine, the disc harrows breaks up the clumps of soil into fine soil and
prepares it for seeding.
Well, apparently the day before when I plowed the field I had plowed up a
ground hog hole....... Over night mister ground hog decided to open his den
back up....
When you run the harrows you can go pretty fast as you want to break up the
earth chunks as fast and fine as you can. Well, there I was moving up and down
that field at a "pretty good clip" when darned if I didn't hit that ground hog
hole "dead center" with the front "tri-cycle" wheels of the Farmall Model
Super C tractor I was driving and broke off the front wheels completely! There
I sat in the middle of the field with the front of the tractor sitting on the
ground and the two tri-cycle wheels lying beside the tractor.
First of all I had to walk all the way back to the barn and implement shed.
That was the EASY part. When my dad came home that afternoon and saw the
damage he told me that I'd have to fix the tractor right out in the middle of
the field where I broke it.
He took me up to New Bloomfield to the International Harvester store, (as I
was too young to have my driver's license yet), and bought all the parts
I'd need to do the job. So far so good.....
The next day I loaded all the parts and tools onto our pickup truck and headed
out to the field to do the job.
As I started the job I realized that I was getting bitten all over my legs....
I found out that darn ground hog had built his den right in the middle of a
red ant mound!!!!
Not too long after I discovered that I was getting it all over my body...
It took me a hair over 2 days to do that job and I was a mess.... I
looked like one big ant bite and only felt comfortable when I was soaking in a
cool tub of water... For another week I was in bad shape..
That's why, to this day, I don't have any love wasted on ground hogs.... NONE
AT ALL!!!
I don't kill anything anymore but I would like to get rid of this ground hog
that's been hanging around here lately.... I'll just have to wait and
see if I can learn where his den is....

The Beginning of a brand
new week!
It's a beautiful, sunny morning here in Central Pennsylvania. We had massive
thunderstorms over night here that woke me up at least 4 times. I haven't had
a chance to walk through the yard as of yet to see how many tons of limbs were
knocked out of the trees, but I'm sure it will take a while to clean up.
This after the humidity dropped over the weekend and I did get time to finally
mow the yard. I have
a small piece yet to mow right down at the river and I
didn't get to that as it just never gets shady there and I must wait until
just before dark to mow that.
They, the weather folks are calling for it to get very humid, AGAIN, today
with the highs in the 90s so it looks like we're headed back to a remake of
last week.
Betty and her son John's birthday was yesterday so I guess I should say their
birthday weekend was fine. As both were born on the same birthday, they never
have JUST a birthday it's always a Birthday Week or a Birthday Weekend...
It did turn out GREAT this year, more so than usual because we were so
relieved that John came through his liver transplant.
We all met at a reunion over in West Fairview across the river from where
Betty and I live and John and Betty had a great time and received plenty of
gifts.
Then
yesterday, on Betty's actual birthday her son Diz bought her and I both a nice
dinner down at our favorite Chinese Restaurant for her birthday.
Even the young folks at the Chinese Restaurant got in on the fun. Take a look
at the birthday "platter" that one of the young ladies made up for Betty and
several of them sang "happy birthday" to her. She was REALLY pleased with
that!!
Yes, I'd say the two Birthday people, Betty and John had yet another wonderful
birthday this year, as always!!!!
*************************************
As I mentioned, I got a lot of yard work done and so did Betty over the
weekend. Also, right at the end of last week I took time to "scrub" our back
deck and re-water proof it. I don't like the new waterproofing "stuff" and am
seriously thinking of doing it all over again. I hate to do it as it's sure "a
job and a half" but maybe I'll wait 'til next summer as I have so much to get
done here before FALL...
I should have known better... when you use something that you like the
results, DON'T change the MO, (method of operation), to something different! I
just DOESN'T pay!
****************************************
This is going to be a GREAT day for some work here in my office because, as I
mentioned, it's going to be hotter than heck outdoors...
I still have plenty to do before my trip to the post office as this, being
Monday, there should be a ton of mail waiting on me....
More tips tomorrow for Home workers, and home business owners.... In the
meantime it's back to work for me and YOU, YOU have a GREAT
day!!!

T.G.I.F.
WE had a drenching, torrential downpour here yesterday evening for about 2
hours.. Local flooding all over the place. Small streams and creeks... I don't
think it will affect the mighty Susquehanna River that runs through out back
yard that much, just the smaller streams that go up and down real fast.
We were out driving in it some and it was hard to see "your hand in front of
your face!" We received a phone call from Betty's son John around noontime
yesterday to let us know they were headed back home by train and needed
someone to pick 'em up at the train station in Harrisburg about 3:45 PM and
take them home... So we rapped things up here at the house and my office
and headed down to get them. We no sooner got them home and got the
Jeep unloaded of John's wheel chair and bags and got them in his house when we got back
into the Jeep it started pouring "cats & dogs!"
Incidentally John and Debbie finally received his test results yesterday
morning and he is NOT rejecting his new liver! They just needed to adjust his
"rejection" medicine to some extent. That's why he got to come home with
Debbie.... We, Betty and I are so glad for them.... Looks like John's luck is
still holding out for him!
After we dropped them off it seemed so late and we were hungry so we headed
for our favorite Chinese Restaurant, The PA Grand Buffet
down below Harrisburg.
Betty treated and we had a wonderful dinner. We then had to stop at Costco's
and pick up some things for Saturday. We weren't going to go out until today
but now, since we had to go out yesterday, we can stay home and get some work done
today.
I have tons of "stuff" that need to be "addressed" here in the office and
Betty wants to give her self a permanent today.
Looks like things may work out pretty well here today. I hope your day
is going well also.

In the home mail order business you must advertise to sell anything.
You just can't hang a sign on the door that says, "Hi, I'm in the mail order
business, please stop in and buy something from me."
One of the best advertising methods is still promotional direct mailing. To
have any kind of success with our direct mailings, we need the best mailing
list that we can find....
If you are looking for a new category of mailing lists or a specific target
market, Listfinder allows you to
stay up-to-date on available lists and find the sources for the lists you
need. You get free access to over 50,000 list data cards. Click this link to
check it out: Listfinder
Now, if like me, you "work" the "inner circle" of mail order and just need a
good opportunity seekers list, then check out my names here:
Chuck's Mailing Lists
My lists are from folks who mail their inquires and orders directly to me.
They do not contain names from any other source. I also
CASS Certify each list
before it's mailed and send each list order by 2 day priority mail at no extra cost to
you! These are people who are working in mail order either full time or part
time and lots of them are beginners who need your help and perhaps your
programs and products for their new businesses.
Now, here's one more place to get your opportunity names and buyers.....
This is where I get mine when I run out of my own names doing a special
mailing or whatever. Just Click here for all the information and don't forget
to note that Terry, (Terry
Thomas List Owner), guarantees his names to the point that he will refund
you up to 50˘ each for nixie!!! Now you can't beat a guarantee like that one!
I also wanted to remind you that I've started up my
Short Run Print & Mail Service again. I can't guarantee you that I post
the cheapest prices for P&M but I can guarantee that every circular you order
WILL get printed and mailed to buyers that will be interested in your offer!!!
And/or would you like your circular "up on the WEB" with your own Unique URL
address so you can advertise it in "cheap" classifieds, etc. Check here to get
yours up on our "well traveled" site for

It's an absolutely
beautiful sunny morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage this morning but the
weather folks are calling for the high humidity to set back in today. Oh
well, it's better than rain, I suppose.
I went for the abdominal scan yesterday at the Cardiologist's and it went
quite well. All must be okee-dookie as I don't even have a follow-up
appointment with him until December. Unless, of course I have any heart
problems arise.
We did some grocery shopping after the doctor's appointment but still got home
pretty early.
(Hot dog! It looks like the gasoline prices are dropping at least a little
again.) I sure hope that trend continues.
Yesterday afternoon turned out to be pretty nice with the humidity dropping to
some extent. I still couldn't mow the "lower 40" down along the river where it
REALLY needs mowed bad, but the lower humidity did give me a chance to work on
the back deck. I scrubbed it 3 times, and then waterproofed it with some new
stuff. Most waterproofing chemicals make you wait at least 5 days for it to
dry. (If you can get 5 days around there without rain), before you can put it
on.
This new stuff that I'm trying out, you can put on even while the deck is
still wet from the cleaning! Of course it all sounds good but I won't know for
awhile until it all dries out and we get a rain or something, then I'll be
able to see if it is actually protecting the wood.
Boy, I certainly hope so as that's a job and a half, (our deck is pretty big,)
and I'd hate to do all of that work for nothing!
After looking at it this morning, the wood looks too light. I think I like the
way the old type of water proofing looks... (Well, cut corners and the job
just doesn't turn out as nice.) At any rate, if it does the job of
waterproofing, it will have to do for this year.... Maybe I'll go back to the
old way again, next year....
It's still not completely dry yet so it could STILL turn a better looking
shade.

Betty's son John and his wife Debbie are still down in Philadelphia. They
didn't get any news last night as to how the liver biopsy had turned out, so
they had to take another hotel room until they are sure if John must stay down
there or can come home. Betty just called down and they haven't heard anything
as of yet... I hope the test turns out well and they can just come home.
We'll just have to wait and see.....

I got a call from my bank yesterday that one of my customers had "bounced" a
check on me for $5 Bucks! Actually it didn't "bounce" for lack of funds, the
check was written on a closed account!!! Nice guy, right? They, my bank, told
me that I had to write them a "letter of permission" for them to deduct the $5
from my checking account as at that moment MY account was "frozen." I couldn't
just tell them over the phone. I had to type up a letter and sign it and fax
it to them.... All for a lousy $5 check that the person knew would
"bounce" as HE KNEW his account was closed. What the heck is wrong with
people? What goes through their minds when they decide to screw someone out of
5 bucks.... Which incidentally never ends up being the amount on the check as
you know the bank charges us an EXTRA charge for their time and trouble.
Now, I must try and locate this idiot and tell him that he now owes much more
than he originally wrote the check for. Of course he won't care as he already
knew it would "bounce" when he wrote it.. What he doesn't know is that
if he doesn't take care of it, he will get a year of FREE advertising from me.
That means that I will advertise his name and address and any other
information I can find out about him on the WEB, in my Newsletter/Magazine,
Chuck's Mail Order News &
Opportunities and several national tabloids. He will be in a
special column of his own titled, "The Dead Beat Of The Year!"
Maybe after a year of that, he'll have a problem with ANYONE excepting his bad
checks!
Good for him!

It's still a very hot
morning but the humidity is a bit lower than it's been the last several
days... It's also bright and sunny though and should be a nice day. Hopefully it will, as they're calling for it to be a bit more
"livable" over this coming weekend... I just would like to get caught up some
over the next few days with my lawn mowing... I sure hope so as it's getting
to look like a Jungle around here.
*********************************
We took John and his wife Deb down to the train station for a 2:40 PM
departure to Philadelphia yesterday. Everything went pretty smooth and they
called last evening to tell us all had gone well and they were in the hotel
that's connected right to the hospital. He'll be going for his liver biopsy
this morning and should know by 6 this evening the results of that. If he must
stay for a few days for "steroid" treatment, Deb will be coming back home by
herself so she can go to work. Looks like they took enough "stuff" along to
stay there for quite awhile. Betty and I are anxious to find out the results
as well..... We're all hoping of course that John's blood "readings" that were
high last week were that way from something other than his liver being
rejected by his body. We'll know for sure by this time tomorrow.
***********************************
I ordered Betty's birthday present on line yesterday. (Her birthday is the
Sunday as well as her son John's.) Yep, John was born on his mother's
birthday! Pretty neat right? At any rate I almost always buy most birthday
gifts online as it's really the best place where you can get the most "bang"
for your buck! I checked locally and what I ordered for Betty would cost me
over 3 times what it did on the web. I can't tell you what I ordered, as once
in a while she decides to read these posts and I don't want to "let the cat
out of the bag." We ordered John's main gift from the web as well. John's like
me, he's into electronic "stuff" so he's easy to buy for... I sure hope
he's home by Sunday, for his birthday.. For the last 23 years we've
celebrated John and Betty's birthday mostly at his house. I'd hate to break
that tradition this year... I'll just have to wait and see what happens.
************************************
I did get caught up with all my mail yesterday and most of the orders and
inquiries. I still have a few things to get done plus, I'd like to get out a
nice sized first class promotional mailing today. I need to upload some
articles to my online edition of
Chuck's Mail Order News &
Opportunities too.
Also, I forgot I had a heart doctor's appointment for an abdominal sonar scan
this morning before noon. I can't eat until it's over.... and I can't have my
morning coffee... Even with the diabetes, I can do without the eating without
too much problem. However, doing without the coffee, that's another matter.
Even though I only drink de-caffeinated, I STILL need my morning Java! I know
I'm going to be one miserable camper until after the scan is over and I can
have my coffee... All of these darn "tests" drive me nuts, but I guess I can't
bitch too much as they DO keep my ass alive...... at least so far anyway......

It's another stinking hot
day here in Central Pennsylvania. That's enough about the weather.... "bah,
humbug"
*********************************
We were supposed to take Betty's son John and his wife Deb down to the train
station in Harrisburg for their trip to Philadelphia yesterday afternoon but
the hospital called them yesterday morning and rescheduled the appointment for
Wednesday morning so we'll have to take them down this afternoon... I know
John was all "keyed" up about going but he's taking it pretty good. Poor Deb
will have to take tomorrow off from her job as well.. Boy is she ever lucky to
work for her boss. He has been bending over backwards with her time off to
help John over the last few months...
I'm sure she's really looking forward to everything calming down and getting
back to normal....
**********************************
Well, it seems now, here in Pennsylvania, since our legislators have voted
themselves record raises and have made themselves the second highest paid
legislators in the United States only to California, they came up with a way
to make some extra money to cover their shenanigans! Oh sure they say they are
going to have our Pennsylvania sales tax cover stuff that up-till-now has been
tax exempt. Yep, finally, they've gotten around to taxing necessary items like
food and clothing! Yep, unbelievable!
They claim they will use the money to lower or "wipe out" property taxes. Yeah
right, believe that and I have a bridge or two that I can give you a GREAT
deal on!
Have you EVER seen a tax increased or created that EVER wiped out another tax?
I think they should all be ashamed of themselves, not for just
increasing their already bloated salaries, and ignoring the state constitution
and allowing themselves to get the raise immediately instead of waiting until
their current term is up, but for even thinking about taxing necessities!
You know we started a Revolutionary War over a simple tax on tea! Yes, tea, for
god's sake.... Where will all of these taxes stop? Aren't you tired of
working more than a half of a year to pay all of your taxes or maybe it sounds
lousier if I say HALF OF YOU LIVES for taxes??????
If your state has no such tax don't think you'll always be without it......
Whenever one gets away with stuff like this, the others seem to follow before
too long......

The Beginning of a brand
new week!
Nothing to report about the weather here in Central Pennsylvania as it's still
hazy, hot, and humid and that's in between the thunder storms.... It's
like a freekin' Jungle here! we've had the "tail end" of the hurricane Dennis....
now I hope he soon gets out of here!
The only work Betty and I got done over this past weekend was indoor work. We
didn't even venture out at all yesterday except to get the Sunday paper.
The humidity around here lately is stifling! Just plain unbearable.... at
least for us "golden oldies." Our air conditioners have been working
overtime... and our light bill for this month will certainly reflect that
extra labor!
If it's a choice between roasting to death and a high electric bill I'm afraid
we've both "voted" for the high juice bill....
Seems like Summer is getting shorter around here... Heck another month and a
half and September will be here... along with cooler days it will be time to
clean the furnace and get it ready for the long cold winter... Geez.... I'm
about ready for it already... I know... complain, complain, and complain
some more.... I can hear you now, is he ever satisfied???? Heck, I'm
starting to wonder that myself... The river has been staying in it's
banks where it belongs but there was not much activity on it over the
weekend.. Between the rain drops and the unbearable humidity not many braved
the weather to enjoy themselves on the river... There were a few "die hards"
as there always are... (I've seen folks fishing in December and
January!) Yep, as long as there was no ice on the river they were out there
all bundled up with about 10 layers of clothing on, fishing there little
hearts out.... and probably lovin' every minute of it. Yep, river rat die
hards.... Die hards at least for sure!
Betty and I are headed down to her son John's this afternoon to give him and
his wife a lift to the train station to leave for Philadelphia so he can be at
the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, where he got his new liver, for
tests early Tuesday morning. Hopefully by Tuesday evening, we'll have more
news as to his test results and we'll know if he is rejecting the transplant
or not... Of course we're all hoping not, but only time will tell.
John told me that he's not going to worry about it even if he must stay there
for awhile or even if something bad happens as he figures he's been very lucky
just to receive the transplant and he's had his "go at it", and gave it his
best shot. He really has a good optimistic attitude about the whole
situation.... Hang in there John-John.....

T.G.I.F.
It's another VERY hot
morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage. We had a lot of thunder storms last
night. I haven't made a trip through our yard to see how much damage there is and as of
yet... Hopefully I'll just have plenty of limbs to clean up.
Betty and I went out to eat last evening at our favorite Chinese Restaurant,
The PA Grand Buffet down below
Harrisburg. If you live in my area click on the above site and then click
again to find a
10% off coupon!
We
met Betty's sons, John and Diz and John's wife Debbie there to have a meal
with them. That's us to the left. The closest to the camera on the left is
John, then John's wife Deb and then Diz. On the right is Betty and that's me,
peeking out from behind her.
Since John was in the hospital in Philadelphia all he
could talk about was that he couldn't wait to go the Chinese Restaurant
to eat Crab Legs! We were there about an hour and a half and REALLY had a good
time... John ate more than the other 4 of us put together! I asked him where
the heck he was putting all the food and he said in his right leg that he
hadn't even started on his left leg yet.... Hmmmmm..... just what I
figured, a Hollow leg!
John is going back down to the hospital, as I mentioned in yesterday's post,
but it sure hasn't dampened his "sense of humor."
John used his wheel chair to get into the place and sat in it to eat....
although he has been walking with a cane.... I'm sure at the rate he's
going, he'll be tossing the wheel chair in another week.
********************************************
Mail order, MLM, and Home Business Owners or just wanna-bees ...........
I had a GREAT mail day yesterday with plenty of orders, inquiries and promo
mailings to me. I just LOVE opening up envelopes to find checks, money orders,
and cash! Yep, a lot of folks still send cash in the mail. I've already
received an order with over $200 in cash to pay for it! Unbelievable right?
I, personally would never send cash but as I said many do. In all the years
I've been in this business, since 1983 I've only ever had ONE person write and
tell me they sent cash and never received their order. Turns out that over a
year later they received a mailing from the postal service. It was a plastic
bag with their torn envelope in it AND the $2 cash that they had sent me over
a year ago!
There was a note with it that explained that they, (the postal workers), had
disassembled an old sorting machine only to find their letter along with a few
more caught in the bottom of the machine under some gears. They apologized and
sent it back to them rather than forward it to the mailing address they had
written on the piece.
So actually in all that time I've never had a piece of mail lost with cash coming to
me in it. (Knock on wood!)
I still don't trust sending cash however and when I must make a refund on
anything, I always write a check for it. I feel much safer by doing it that
way.
Talk about orders yesterday..... The deal I got on for scanning an 8 X
11" circular and putting up on our OAMA Website for just $20 for an entire
year is really going over GREAT! I received 3 more orders just yesterday! I'll
get all of them up over the weekend, maybe even today. You can see that deal
by clicking here:
YOUR CIRCULAR 8˝ x 11" SHOULD BE UP ON THE WEB with your own unique personal
URL address only $20!!! We'll keep it up there and maintain it for an entire
year!!! -- Use small classified ads to advertise your product or opportunity
and send them to your WEB page circular for all the information! Get it up
there now just click here!
If you need the service just print out the circular and mail me your order. If
you have an email address, please include it with your order and I'll email
your URL address as soon as I upload it to the WEB.
Our
Pre-Launch
program for
Elements business program is winding down to the end of this month. I'll
then be sending out "joining packages" with downline reports, newsletters etc.
It's sure NOT too late to join. We are putting in a bunch of folks and there
WILL BE overspill as it's only a 2 wide matrix... I've personally
sponsored over 50 members myself so you can see I'll be providing much
overspill for quite a few levels! My two top people, Ralph Fulton and John
Nikoden have also signed in many, many folks into their downlines which will
run from my 2nd level down so there are many more that will be "spilling
over".... It's going to be quite a "ride" next month when we start to enter
folks into the main
Elements business program. We're all looking forward to it..
So, if you'd like a "head start" on a GREAT paying home business, go here,
Pre-Launch,
print out the circular, fill it in and send along to me with proper payment
and I'll get you in the data base and have your custom promotional kit on it's
way back to you within 24 hours! Plenty of time yet with over a half of a
month!
******************************************
I do have a lot of "stuff" to finish up before my weekend even begins, so for
me, it's back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT
Weekend!!!!

It's a cloudy, hazy morning
here in Central Pennsylvania.... What can I say it's a replica of
yesterday, except without the sun.... Hazy, Hot & Humid!
There are no more cool breezes left around here this time of the year... I
love to work, out on the deck with my laptop, (I have it networked to the
other 2 desktop computers here in the office), but it's just too darn hot for
even that here lately. Until this heat spell breaks, I'm afraid I'm trapped
here in the air conditioned office... A bummer..... right? NO! I'm darn
lucky to have a nice cool place to work... It doesn't seem that long
ago, (but it is), when I used to do REAL work in my automobile repair garage.
It sure wouldn't take long to "work up a sweat" on a day like today in my
garage.
*******************************************
Betty's son John-John received bad news yesterday........
I mentioned that John had to go down to the hospital in Philly were he
received his liver transplant for an "evaluation" of his recovery on
Tuesday. While he was there
they took blood for various "tests" and apparently one of those tests was to
see if his body was rejecting the new organ in any way.
They called John's wife Debbie, yesterday afternoon to tell her that John's
"numbers" were too high, (whatever that means...), his body may be
rejecting the new liver he received. He will have to make a
trip back down to the hospital, probably the beginning of next week for a
liver biopsy. He and Deb will have to go down and stay in a Hotel overnight so
he can be there first thing in the morning at 7AM for the biopsy and then
they'll have to wait until about 6 PM in the evening to see if the liver is
rejecting or not. If it is, they will keep John at the hospital and give him
steroids and monitor him to see if they can "turn the situation around."
Of course John's feeling pretty low..... I really feel bad for him...
but we're all hoping that it's just a "false alarm."
I'll post an update, here, later on John.....
Hang in there John-John................

It's another Hot, Humid,
Hazy morning here in the "heart" of Pennsylvania at the Blue Bird Cottage...
It's supposed to cool down some today for a little relief but I think the
humidity is still going to be very high..... so much for the comfort
level.....
Betty and I have been staying indoors in the air conditioning the last few
days... Oh we seek out once in awhile to get the paper, or to go to the post
office etc.... but no work outdoors that's for sure. I must get some yard work
done, especially down at the river, but I'm just going to have to wait until
it cools down a bit around here...
Some of the heart medicine I take just won't allow for too much sun exposure
anymore. The doctor says, "Stay out of the sun", and he doesn't have to twist
my arm for me to comply. It seems like it's affecting the animals and birds
around here as well.. The only time I see anything moving around is early
morning or late evening... and I don't blame them either..
***************************************
Betty's son John went down to Philadelphia yesterday to the hospital that
transplanted the liver he received for him to get "evaluated"... Whatever that
means... I suppose they check his general health and to see how all is healing
etc.... I haven't had a chance to talk to him to see how he made out as when
he got home yesterday evening, he was pretty beat. His sister, Tammy, drove
him and his wife Debbie down to the hospital.
As fast as John's healing, I give him about a month and he'll be driving
himself down for his evaluations. I think he must visit them once every couple
of weeks for awhile...
As I mentioned before John lost over a hundred pounds through this ordeal and
was down to 137 pounds... He's now eating and the doctor's have told him to
also drink "Ensure Plus", which contains 350 calories in each small can...
He's now up to 163 pounds and putting on weight fast.. He still looks
like "skin and bones" as he's a big man, but I think at this rate he'll be
back to his 'ole self in a few months... He's allowed to eat anything he
wants now except he must cut back on the salt as his feet, ankles and legs are
swollen. They, "his nurses that come to visit him at home", say that it's
normal for that to happen though and not to worry about it....
John-Johns on his way back!
*****************************************
Mail order, MLM, and Home Business Owners...........
I do get some "funny" letters in the mail and some that are actually sad as
people have an entire misconception of what a home business consists of. They
are more interested in getting an extra check from someplace and they think
that they can just "buy into" a company or program and sit back and collect a
commission for doing nothing.
Actually they don't want a check or money order, they want cash so Uncle Sam
can't "trace" it..
They apparently don't realize that any "legit" business must pay by check.
Only scams and "fly by nights" will pay cash as it don't matter to them, after
all they'll be GONE before it's time to pay taxes on anything.
Then, it seems like it's always these poor "dumb" folks will be the first to complain "how they got
scammed." They are actually the ones who set themselves up! They are
writing on paper that they want to "scam" the government, but they do not want
scammed themselves.... What do they expect?
Want to read this masterpiece? Just click here:
Dumb Letter No, I'd
NEVER list his name... I folded that back over before I scanned it....
I could never figure out about people not wanting to get involved in any kind
of money making project that they HAD to report it to Uncle Sam... They would
sooner NOT help themselves make a better income to enjoy than to do something
to help themselves.
They act like EVERYTHING they make is going to taxes... It's not THAT bad
yet.. I would sooner make $20,000 and pay some for taxes than NOT make
the $20,000 to begin with....That makes more sense.
At the end of the letter he wants to know if "this program will work for him?"
I've never heard of any program "doing any kind of work"... it's just a
vehicle.
PEOPLE do the work!
Oh well, it takes all kinds........
******************************************
Lot's of "stuff" to get done today....
I received a call last night from someone who ordered an OAMA membership. It
usually takes about an hour and a half to two hours to get that package
together... Plus, the little work that's left over from Monday's mail
and what came in yesterday, it looks like I'm in for a busy day here at my
home office.
Sooooooooooooooo..... with all that in mind, for me it's back to work, and
YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!

It's another beautiful
morning here in Central Pennsylvania at our Blue Bird Cottage and it's
supposed to go into the 90s again today and be VERY humid.. I've turned the
air conditioners on early to give them a head start on the coming heat. Even
though we have two window air conditioners it's hard for them to keep up on
days like today.
There's a baby groundhog, (woodchuck), just a few feet from the sliding glass
door where I sit typing this post looking right at me.... I know darn well if
I get the camera as soon as I move a muscle he'll be on his way. They are like
all the other animals... when they're babies, they sure are cute but when
they, the groundhogs, become adults, they are a pain in the "you-know-what!" I
finally got rid of the one that was inside our yard shed and had the floor all
torn up.. It took the flood last September to finally "run him off".......
After the flood I filled in his hole and fixed the floor and STILL have my
fingers crossed.
The squirrels, rabbits and birds are not too bad at all when it comes to
destroying property, and the snakes and turtles aren't around enough to be a bother. I
usually run into them, the turtles when they are on their way to the river and
our yard gets in the way.. Once in a while I'll have a snake "take up
residence" in our yard but so far in over the last 20 years I've only had one
poisonous one do that. That was a good 'ole nice sized
Copper Head. Believe me, one of them living at the same place as me, in 20
years, is plenty!
There are lots of snakes that are GOOD snakes... I know, a lot of folks say
the only good snake is a dead snake, but that's not true by a long shot!
If I could find a snake that likes to eat moles and voles, I'd build him his own house
to patrol my yard. Yep, I'd sooner have a snake around that those darn
little varmints! Oh, and those instruments they sell that you stick in the
ground to "run 'em off", well they don't work. Matter of fact I think the darn
thing might draw them!
Uh oh! There I go again, off on one of my tangents!!!

The beginning of a
Brand New Week!
It's a nice sunny morning here in Central Pennsylvania and it's supposed to go
into the 90s today so it will be a warm one!
We had a real good weekend and the weather was nice as well... Yesterday
Betty and I spent most of the day indoors as we've been working on another
bulk mail. I had a lot of printing to get finished and Betty had tons of
folding, sorting and assembling to do as well.
We don't have the bulk mailing quite done but it will be done before today is
over.
I also prepared 50 First Class promotional mailings and they will hit the mail today.
************************************
We stopped down to see John, Betty's son on Saturday.... Yes, John is finally
home and it sure looks like, now, he's getting well, REAL FAST. He's still
using a walker to some extent and a cane.
He was up and around and apparently couldn't get enough to eat! Every time I
turned around he was eating.. Well, John originally lost over 100 pounds
through this ordeal, and was down to a mere 137 pounds, but already he's back
up to 153! Yep John's coming back fast.... "At a boy John-John......
************************************
The
river saw a lot of action over the weekend and we even had a swimmer down in
our back yard..... Betty's granddaughter's husband, Matt. Looks like
Matt was staying cool... Just check out the picture to the left.
The back yard looks like I need to mow it again... seems like I just did that.. hmmmmmmm.... The grass never dries out down at the river.....
That's just fine though as that's where I have my tomatoes plants as well..
As I mention last week something had eaten some of my plants....
I still have 6 left though and they are really starting to grow... I was late again
planting them however, and I'll be lucky to get tomatoes before the frost
hits.... Oh well, "better late than never."

T.G.I.F.
It's raining this morning, here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central
Pennsylvania. We are receiving the tail of the hurricane, Cindy and have been
since yesterday afternoon. Local flooding is expected but with any kind of
luck, the mighty Susquehanna River that runs through are back yard will not be
affected that much to cause flooding. Oh I'm sure it will rise some, but
hopefully stay within it's banks.
It could have been worse I suppose as it can ALWAYS be worse. We needed the
rain, but we could do without the storm that comes with it!
I seem to have a "Bumble Bees" problem in my office. Every morning for the past 3
weeks, when I open things up there are always a few bees, on the inside of the
glass, on the large pane and sliding glass door at the front of my office.
The first morning it was one very large one...
The next day by noon time I had to kill 7 more of them. Then each day since
then it's been 2 to 4 each and every morning... I've searched everywhere I can
think and I can't find where the heck they are coming from.
I checked on the Internet and I found where
Bumble Bees like to nest, in sheds, houses and maybe under my office floor!
It also says that the best way to get rid of them is to find their nest and
destroy it. Better said than done! I built this office from an old porch that
used to be at the end of our cottage.. Of course we built it from the
floor up but that was about 20 years ago... Cinder block surrounds it on
the outside at the bottom and even though I have "breather" ducts built into
it there is no access large enough to crawl in. No way to get in there and destroy any kind of nest.
I know that normally
Bumble Bees don't bother humans but they are hair raising when you have 4
to 5 flying around a small room like my office, believe me.
The only thing I know to do is to kill them off one at a time as they appear
each day. After 3 weeks, I sure hope they are soon running out of members of
the colony as I really do NOT enjoy killing them...
It's weird but it's only in the morning when they appear. After I kill
whatever number shows up for the day, the rest of the day I'm okay, at least
until the next morning when it starts all over again...
If you have any ideas, I'd appreciate an Email.. My address is at the end of
this post for today... Thanks in advance......

Mail order, MLM, and Home Business Workers...........
Last evening a friend of mine from Texas that's in my downline in a program or
so called and we talked about my
Pre-Launch
program for
Elements business program. Also, we got on the subject of commission
programs and circulars. He wanted to know about a few that he could try and
actually "trust" the "monitor" to send him commissions from his efforts..
There are a few that I promote that I have complete faith in owner/monitor to
promptly fill orders and also promptly forward commissions.
First of all, we all should be mailing some "blind" promotional packages to
opportunity seekers, and then of course there's the packages we mail to our
inquiries from smaller ads. I was never an advocate sending just one offer in
an envelope. Unless of course your offer fills 4 pages both sides... At any
rate, I think we should all have a good stamp program to go as a nice "ride
along" in your mailing. Perhaps if your prospect doesn't like any of your
other offers he/she may go for your stamp offer.. Or of course I've had
them order one or two of my offers and the stamp program as well..
Here's a stamp program that's been working pretty well for me:
Abundant Postage PLUS CASH. This requires no work
on your part other than promoting it. The money and the stamps go directly to
the monitor and he then sends you "your cut". (This one pays you $5.00 checks
and one book of 37˘ stamps per order! Plus it pays you the same commission
when the person you sold the program to makes a sale. So you not only make
money and stamps from your own efforts but also your customer's efforts!
I also have a couple of more commission circulars that doesn't cost an "arm
and a leg" to join and pulls in several orders each week.. My favorite
one is: BEGINNING A MAIL ORDER
BUSINESS OF YOUR OWN!! This one also requires no work or follow up of
your own, just the promotion. However, the monitor always sends you the order
form with the customer's name and address to you can add their name to your
data base for future "follow-ups." This commission circular pays you $5.00 per
order.. As above, you will make $5 bills also every time your customer
makes a sale as well.
Now, last but not least, is a commission circular that the money comes
directly back to you. You make $10 per order. To fill the order you keep the
$10 and send the entire circular to the "monitor" along with 2 First Class
stamps and he fills the order for you!!!! So, except for the cost of the
stamps, you make almost 100% profit! This commission circular is called:
BUILD YOUR NEST EGG THE EASY
WAY.
Check out all three of the above commission circulars and if you like any or
all, just print them out, fill them in, and forward them to the monitor or as
with the last one, BUILD YOUR
NEST EGG THE EASY WAY, that one comes back to me... Just fill in the
order blanks and follow the instructions....
All of the commission circulars make a nice "ride along" for you main
program(s). If the program doesn't pull a sign-up maybe one of your commission
circulars will. These "ride alongs" are what help with my cash flow to help
cover my printing and mailing expenses.. Every little bit helps...

It's another beautiful
sunny morning here in Central Pennsylvania.
I went out on my back deck facing the river with a cup of coffee this morning
to check out the morning wildlife. Near as I could see from one spot there
were about 76 geese on the river... They were having a ball... I least they
seemed to be. I almost never hear them honking unless they're flying. I've
already had over 50 of them in our back yard, and had the back door open and never knew
they were there
until I looked outside.
Sometimes if I clap my hands to run them off they'll honk a little. I never
run 'em off when they have very small, young ones, but as they mature, I'm
afraid they make too much of a mess in the yard. If I try to walk to the river
I'm doing the old "slip and slide" routine!
It doesn't look like the Canada Goose is good for much of anything, but they do
look pretty. I've only ever eaten goose one time and that was a farm goose,
not a wild Canada Goose and I really didn't like it that well.
But as with anything else, I'm sure if I got hungry enough, I would develop a
taste for them.
I'm sure our forefathers ate a lot of "stuff" that we wouldn't even consider
as a food. Yes, I'm sure our attitudes would soon grow a lot different if our
bellies began growling and wild food is all that's
available.
You must be sure of what's edible and what isn't though before you head for
the wilds to survive. There are still folks dying from eating wild vegetables,
etc. Click here for a
short
story.
I was reading some about
Henry Thoreau
yesterday and I just wonder how many of us could do what he did. You know,
build a cabin all by ourselves, and live there practically off the land for a few years... Sure,
it really sounds exciting, but it would take a lot of guts! Especially back
then when Thoreau
did it!
