The middle of the week already and all is well and HOT here, in Central Pennsylvania. Looking forward to a productive day here, in my office. I'm about half way through with my end of the month chores for the Once A Month Association. Hopefully I'll finish that all today and it will be in the mail.
I read something this morning that I just have to "pass on" to you. Did you ever hear the old adage, "Never argue about religion!" Well, I think whoever came up with that one was right. Take a look at the following story: (and this is true by the way)
MAN SHOT DEAD OVER HEAVEN AND HELL ARGUMENT
July 30, 9:50 AM ET

  GODLEY,
Texas (Reuters) - An argument over who was going to heaven and who was  going to hell ended with one Texas man shooting another to death with a shotgun, police said on Monday. Johnny Joslin, 20 was allegedly shot by Clayton Frank Stoker, 21, on Sunday.  The two had spent Saturday with two other men night bar hopping in Fort Worth, about 40 miles northeast of Godley. Johnson County Sheriff Bob Alford said a witness who was the designated driver for the group told police the four men were sitting at a table outside a trailer park after their night on the town and entered into an argument about religion.  The talk became heated when the subject turned to who would go to heaven and who would go to hell. Stoker said he would settle the argument and went into a house and returned with a shotgun, which he loaded and placed in his mouth, Alford said the witness reported. "The victim Joslin then took the gun out of Stokers mouth, saying, 'If you have to shoot somebody, shoot me,"' Alford said, citing the witness report. The shotgun went off, hitting Joslin in the chest and killing him. Stoker, a Johnson County corrections officer, has been arrested and charged with first-degree murder, Alford said.

Is that something else? A couple of "good ole boys".....
We've been kind of hibernating because of the heat. I think when I get the rest of what I must do to finish out the month done, tomorrow we'll go out for Lunch and maybe some goofing off. In the meantime, I'd better get back to work. You have a GREAT day!!!

We're still in the grasp of a heat wave here in Central Pennsylvania. It's supposed to go to about 95 today but feel like over 100 with the humidity. I know our light bill is going to be out of sight this month with the 2 air conditioners running almost constantly. Oh well, it's either that or roast to death. We may get a break by the weekend. I sure hope so. I'm ready for the Fall weather already. That's my favorite time of the year!
I had to go pick up copy paper for my printing machine yesterday down at Sam's Club. That's the cheapest place I can find for white paper. I picked up Norton AntiVirus for 2002 while there as they have a good deal on it. This software will work in the new Windows XP operating system. It's priced at $44.95 less a mail in rebate of $15.00 for a "real" cost of only $29.95. Not bad for Norton AntiVirus software. If you need some good anti virus software you might want to check out the Sam's Club near you.
To my mail order friends. No, I didn't forget about the pre-launch program I mentioned in Friday's post. Just click here on the Pre-Launch to see the circular, print it out, fill it in, and mail in along with a buck. I'm really pushing this one for the $25 fast start bonuses! When you join, send me 3 stamps and let me know that you've joined under me along with your name, address and phone, (optional), and I'll design you a custom cover letter to send along with your circular, or on the back of it, for promoting the program. I will print it out on my laser printer and send it to you, unfolded, in a 9 X 12" envelope. Have some fun and make some extra money for Christmas.
Okay, I'm still working on all of the end of the month stuff, plus other orders so I'd better get my butt back to work. You have a GREAT day!

We had a real nice weekend. On Saturday I had to pick up some propane for our grill. I went down to the "Feed Store" on the east side of Harrisburg on the Old Johnstown Road. The guy that owns it keeps a little menagerie out side of his business. I just had to take a few pictures to show you. As the Chuck's Daily Photo Gallery 2 in the column at the left of this page, didn't have that many pictures I put these in that gallery. Take a look you'll love the pot belly!
This office of mine will be nuts over the next few days as we are at the end of the month again. I must get out all the mailings for the Once A Month Association, (OAMA) for this month. Witch includes the newsletter, monthly Member Benefit Directory, and statements. Also, this month I must do a new quarterly Dealer Directory and print it. Lot's to do by the end of this month. With that in mind, you have a GREAT day and I'll get back to work.....

T.G.I.F. Ready or not Friday is here again! Wow! What a week we had here in Central Pennsylvania! Lot's went on here, at our house... birthdays, parties, and lots of fun. The biggest news is that our "wild" rabbit is back! Thumper showed up yesterday afternoon and sure "nuff" was very hungry. This morning when I opened up the office, there was Thumper looking at me as if to say, "Where have you been, I'm hungry!" He sure was, he ate almost 2 slices of stale wheat bread, (don't worry that's the way he likes it), and almost a third of a carrot. I'll say he was hungry!
I'm looking forward to this weekend as we'll be heading for John's, (Betty's son), house tomorrow for a nice dinner that his wife, Debbie, (a BIG Martha Stewart fan), will be cooking for Betty and John's birthday week. (This girl is a VERY good cook!) So it looks like we'll have a real good time tomorrow. Sunday weather permitting I'll be cooking out on the deck and probably working here, in the office, most of the day. Too much goofing off this past week I'll have to use Sunday for "catch up" day.
To my Mail Order friends, I'll be putting up an application over the week end for a program I just joined yesterday. It's in the "pre-launch" stage until October and only cost a one dollar bill to register and begin building your downline. Each person you sign who joins in October will be worth a $25 bonus each!!! Talk about a nice Christmas fund! At any rate stop back here Monday for the link to the information. You'll want to get in early and get your downline in gear!
Now, let's all get whatever it is that we need to get done, so we can begin a nice weekend.

The birthday get together for Betty and her son John is now over all that's left are some things on the deck that needs cleaned up. We had a GREAT time yesterday after John showed up from his fishing trip down the river. I put up a few pictures of John and Diz and you can see the giant fish John caught. Just click here on Chuck's Daily Photo Gallery 4 or click Photo Gallery 4 in the column on the left. So Betty and John are now officially 1 year older. (Funny, they don't look any older.) Well I guess you can't argue with Father Time.
We haven't seen our "wild" rabbit for 3 days. I hope he found some other bunnies and didn't get as far as the highway that's near our house. We can only hope. We keep looking out front for him 3 or 4 times a day. He was so trusting we hope someone didn't decide to pick him up and take him home for supper!
After we get a few things done, we'll be taking the bulk mail to the post office and then I'll take Betty out for Chinese. We'll have to do some shopping today but should still get home in time to get some more work done. In the meantime YOU have a GREAT day!

Looks like we have a break in the heat wave that has cooked us here in Central Pennsylvania for the last several days. "Whew!"
Today is not only my partner Betty's birthday, but also her son John's birthday is today also! What a birthday present when she had John. Oh well that's another story. This morning John and his brother, "Diz" put John's boat in up the river at Duncannon and are at this moment floating down the river while fishing. They will come down as far as our place and arrive at our back yard. We'll have a little good times and then Diz will take John  back up the river for his vehicle. John will then come back and ready his boat to stay docked at our house the rest of this summer. So we'll have quite a day today. Betty and John will be celebrating some tomorrow but then this Saturday we'll head to John's house for dinner and more celebrating. They like to keep the birthday spirit for a few days. After all it only shows up once a year.
We finished assembling the bulk mail for this week yesterday and today I will be taking that down to the post office to get it on it's way. Probably toward evening I'll be back in the office to get a little work done for today so it won't be a complete loss for my work today. Drive safely....  I'll see you back here tomorrow morning.... Have a GOOD one!

Everything went well yesterday at the Chinese restaurant. We enjoyed our meal and no one got sick. We did not expect anyone to take ill though, but I thought I'd mention it anyway. A wonderful choice of things and a very reasonable price. That's the best way to describe the Chinese Buffet we visit here, in our area. These people, at least at this restaurant never cease to amaze me. They actually seem to care about you and your feelings. They treat you with respect and expect nothing in return. They actually act surprised if you decide to let them a buck or two for a tip for keeping your table free of used plates etc.  In my restaurant guide, I'll have to give the a AAA rating as one of our most appreciated places to eat. Jeez, I hate to place them above our own American restaurants but I have no choice... Sorry!  What do you think? I'd love to post your opinions... please email in the left hand column or just click here: Email Chuck.  Let me know your opinion....  I'm really looking forward to it.. I think between you and I we can solve all of these darn problems...  (Yeah right, I'm only joking, but we can at least express our views......)  Let's all stay in peace today. Let's all try to exude all the love we can for our fellow human beings....

The beginning of the week here in Central Pennsylvania and all it fine. It's getting to be a real menagerie around here. I went for a heart walk this morning which is about a mile round trip and I saw 2 groundhogs, (woodchucks), 1 cat and believe it or not a weasel! That was the first wild weasel I've seen close up in years. He stepped right out in front of me about 15 feet away. Very sleek beautiful animal. He actually fooled around a few moments as he didn't see me right away. He looked up the road and across the road and then right at me. He did an about face and back into the brush he went. Although a bit humid it was a refreshing walk. I won't be getting too much done, here in the office, probably until this evening. Betty has a birthday on Wednesday and our neighbor lady, Jane, is taking her out to lunch. Actually she's taking both of us. I get to drive though. So after a couple more hours of work I'll pick up Jane and make my daily trek to the post office and then will be off to the Chinese restaurant.
Another huge company, World Com files for bankruptcy. Very scary. A couple in Texas had invested almost 50 thousand in World Com stock that is now worth about 54 bucks. Again I really pity the regular folks who are losing a lot if not all of their savings. As I write thousands of good hard working folks are being laid off. Of course this set back hardly affected the top brass as most of them will come out smelling like a rose. (As usual) We can keep an eye on this one too but I doubt will see much more happen other than a replay of the Enron fiasco. I hope you didn't invest in either of these two losers. Well, I have some things to get done that must go in the mail today so I guess it's time to say, "I'll see you tomorrow." Have a good one today.

T.G.I.F. Yep, the end of another great week has arrived and the beginning of a wonderful week end is about to begin. Ready or not it's almost here. I don't know about you but this has been a stressful week and I'm ready for some R&R this weekend. We're supposed to have a hot and humid one here in Central Pennsylvania but that's okay. The only time I plan to be in the heat that much is on the back deck cooking on the "Barbee".....  Other than that I'll be in the river swimming or in the house in the air conditioning watching movies or doing crosswords etc. Yep Betty and I are both "hooked" on crosswords. We do 'em together and if we can get the entire puzzle with just our knowledge we get out the books and start looking things up. I know it sounds very boring to a lot of folks but it's one of our things.... I've learned a lot of new words and meanings doing crosswords and even a few foreign words. Whatever.....  Haven't seen hide nor hair of the big snapper turtle since I snapped a picture of him night before last. They can make good time moving around when they want to so he could be long gone from this area by now. (See Photo Gallery 2 in the left hand column of this page).
Lot's to get done here in the office before I can "knock off" for the weekend including some circular folding for the next bulk mail so I'd better get back to work. You have a GREAT weekend!
Oh, I almost forgot, Happy birthday to one of my "Chuck's Daily" readers, Joanna Cain! Joanna was born today in 1964 so she's practically just a kid yet. Have a wonderful birthday Joanna and many, many more!!!

Well we're past the hump for this week. The mighty Susquehanna river here at our place is shrinking fast. We need some rain. The rocks are starting to peek through right here at the house. This makes for bad boating as you spend most of your time negotiating around them. The fishing has been good though just the boating is getting worse by the day. A little rain up state would sure help out. The humidity is extremely high here today in Central Pennsylvania. Good news is the sun's out but they are calling for thunder boomers by this evening. Hopefully that will bring in a cooler front for a nice weekend.
I was working last evening at my desk and happened to look out the front door to see this dark object moving on the other side of our lane. At first I thought it to be a ground hog, (woodchuck), but it was just poking around. I grabbed my camera and went to have a look. It was almost dark and I found my sighting in the underbrush. Here is was a large snapping turtle. It was almost dark and my pictures did not turn out the best but you can still see him if you want to. I put up 2 pictures in Chuck's Daily Photo Gallery 2 in the left column of this page. I wish I had a light colored ruler to lay beside him to give you a better idea of his size but let's just say he would have made a huge bowl of soup!!!
Of course I left him go as I think he was trying to get to the river. He probably needed a drink and the Erie canal on the other side of the lane is dried up for the want of rain. Snappers usually hang out in there but must find other "stomping grounds" because of dry weather.
Plenty to get done, here in my office today. I didn't get everything done I wanted to finish last evening. I just keep getting caught up in important things like the turtle, etc.  (Ha Ha) I also had to re-do a customer's mini-web last evening. Worked 'til about 11:15 PM.  Now it's back to the regular stuff. You have a good day!

A VERY hot but nice day here, in Central Pennsylvania. Thumper our "wild" rabbit was outside my office again earlier this morning. Betty sat out on the step and fed him for about 20 minutes or so. The other day when we were out shopping we stopped at the pet store and bought some rabbit food with "treats" mixed in with it. We thought Thumper would be pleased that we had thought enough of him to buy "his kind" of food. Well, apparently wild rabbits do not necessarily like the same food as "tame" rabbits. Thumper likes dried wheat bread and carrots but every time Betty tries to feed him "his kind" of food and treats he turns his nose up and walks out into the yard to munch on some clover. It looks like we have a bag of rabbit food that will go to waste...
I read somewhere the other day, "probably here on the WEB" that President Bush has designated 8 million dollars to help with the education of children in Africa. That's nice that we can afford with our taxes to help the world educate themselves. However, yesterday when I received my monthly statement from Children International, I received a pamphlet with it that states, "One out of every six children in America lives in poverty!" I can't understand, if this is true how we can even think about donating money to other countries. (And incidentally the 8 million I mentioned above is just a drop in the bucket of what we dole out to other countries in a year.) Just something to think about it. If you want to see more on the subject just click the above Children International link.
Plenty to get done around here in my office today. I picked up a couple of print & mail jobs yesterday plus a few small orders and inquiries that I must get done. Plus, I've got to take some time to send out some of my own advertising orders. Soooooo..... You have a GREAT day!!!

Looks like we made it through Monday just fine. Betty found a small item in the paper that someone sent to them. I thought you'd get a kick out of it, especially those of you who are a little "long in the tooth"..  Here it is:
"Good old days...
How old am I? I can remember when the ink did not rub off of the newspapers; when Hershey Park was free and the children's rides were 5 and 10 cents; when new compact cars were $2,400; when you took a Sunday night drive on a back road and never saw another vehicle; when a takeout cup of coffee was 12 cents; when gasoline was 25 cents a gallon. That is why we wish for the good old days."
Yes, I remember those days. I miss them too. But then I also remember when a Hershey bar was 5˘ and a coke was a nickel but if you wanted to take the bottle home you had to let a 2˘ deposit for the bottle! I remember BB's for our BB guns were a penny a pack! When I was a youngster I don't know what mom and dad paid for cigarettes but when I was in my 20's I remember when I had my garage I had a cigarette machine and when they went from 30˘ a pack to 35˘ my coin mechanism in the machine would not go higher than 30˘ and I had to get an "over the counter" license! When I opened my first service station I was about 22 years old and my regular gas was 28˘ a gallon and my high test was 32˘ a gallon. I made 3˘ a gallon on regular and 5˘ a gallon on high test. Yep those were the days. Not that I'd give up today though. I just love all of today's technology. Especially these darn computers. I liked it back then, very much, but I also like it today.
Betty and I did get out the bulk mail yesterday and I worked 'til after midnight last night designing and printing 5 label orders. Now all must do is package and mail them. I do have some other orders and inquiries that must go out today. Also, I received my check from SFI yesterday. It's building every month. The beginning of the week and a GREAT one at that! We had a good weekend here along the mighty Susquehanna River. Plenty of activity out on the river over the weekend. We had real nice weather and a lot of folks took advantage of it.
I found out we have something living in our shed or should I say under it. The entrance hole comes up into the shed. I must be a groundhog, (woodchuck), as the hole is pretty big. Actually it even looks bigger than a groundhog hole. When I go in the shed to get the lawn mower or whatever it must be enough noise to scare it back under ground as I've never seen what it is. I first found the hole about 2 weeks ago and you can see there has been activity around it. If I get a chance I'll get a picture and post it up here to look at. The new cigarette tax goes into effect here in Pennsylvania today. It went up 63˘ to make the State tax on Cigarettes a dollar! Ridiculous! I'm not a smoker but I see no reason to punish people especially when the government has let the tobacco industry addict all they could. I believe an average pack of smokes will now cost at least $4.00 now! I really pity the poor smokers. Don't forget today when the elections come again!!!  The governor says the tax will help alleviate the tax deficit. Number one I can even understand why we have a tax deficit to start with as we are taxed to death here, in Pennsylvania! What are they doing with all of the money???? That's what I want to know. Also, I can not see singling out a certain class of folks to get the deficit out of trouble. Next it might be that the government will need help again for their inability to handle money and they may decide to have the people who like to swim do the bailout honors. Yes, they may put a 50% tax on swim suits. (What a bunch of vultures!) Democrat or Republican doesn't matter, maybe we should replace the whole darn bunch!!!
Plenty to do around the office today. I did a lot of printing on Saturday afternoon and evening and I did folding yesterday afternoon and Betty is assembling the bulk mail as we speak. So we should have it at the post office today. I'll have to get used to writing these larger checks to mail out the bulk mail. No sense bitching as it will never go down again. Well I'm sure you have a mess to get done today also... You have a GOOD one!

T.G.I.F. Are you glad it's the end of the week? It's nice but I wish we had one more day. I thought I'd get more done this week. Oh well, it's always nice when the weekend gets here. They, the weather people, say that the humidity is coming back in over this weekend here in Central Pennsylvania. That will determine just what we do around here for the weekend. Although I'm sure Sunday afternoon will find me grilling on the deck. Seems like it's getting to be a habit this summer. When I'm out there cooking I like to listen to my "digital goddess", Kim Kommando. She's on our local radio station WHP 580 AM. I think I learn more from listening to that show that just about anything I read or see on the WEB. If you'd like to see when she's on in your area check out her web site at www.kimkommando.com She also sends out a nifty informative newsletter each week. You can sign up for that on her web site also.
Lots to do around the office here today plus Betty and I have an appointment in the big city this morning so that will eat up most of the day 'til we get back home and back to work. Received some print & mail orders in yesterday. That will keep me busy for a few hours too. YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

Another beautiful day here, in Central Pennsylvania! Very low humidity and very cool for this time of the year. It's actually supposed to go down into the low 50's tonight! Whoa.... Do you believe that? It's okay with me I'm tired of the VERY hot humid weather we've been having here lately already.
Big news here at my office this morning. Thumper our "wild rabbit" is back. I sat outside my office on the step and fed him this morning for about 15 minutes. New photos I took this morning are uploaded to Chuck's Daily Photo Gallery #1 in the column on the left. This morning pictures are the last five in the album..  I've dated the first one 7-11-02. Yep he ate a lot of wheat bread and carrots and then went into the hole under my office to take a nap.... He's probably still there.
Lots to get done here in the office today. I did get that web page done yesterday. I have some smaller orders to finish and some camera/ready ads to design. So you have a GREAT day!!!

The middle of the week already. A let up in humidity here in Central Pennsylvania makes it a very pleasant warm day! Thumper, our "wild" rabbit, (see Chuck's Daily Photo Gallery #1 in the left column), finally showed up yesterday. Betty went outside and sat on the step here at the office and fed and petted him for about 10 minutes until he got tired of that and just hopped off down the lane. He is still wild, I think??? I've got to go down to the big city, Harrisburg, today and pick up some office supplies and also get a couple of propane tanks filled up. That is if I want to keep barbequing on the deck. Looks like the Feed Store out near Linglestown has a special on propane refills until the 15th.
Here in the office I'm far from caught up but I will be working on that WEB site today that has been sold and must go up now. Hopefully I'll have that done by this evening. I have several things that I must get done before we take off for the city so I'd better get to them..  Oops I goofed.. I wanted to wish a Chuck's Daily reader and good friend, Kathy Fouse a Happy Birthday. Happy birthday, Kathy, even though I am two days late. We wish you many, many more healthy birthdays for the future!!!!
Now, it's back to work! You have a GREAT day!

A beautiful but hot & humid day here, in Central Pennsylvania. I already have one air conditioner on and will be turning the other on shortly. I picked up a brand new 2002 edition of Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia at Sam's Club for only $14.95! I have no idea why they are so cheap this year as usually they are somewhere around $40 to $60! It's not abridged or anything as it comes with 3 disks! So if you're looking for a good Encyclopedia for yourself or your kids, check it out. I couldn't find it on Sam's web site but it should probably be in your local Sam's Club. It's one of the best software reference and research tools I've ever used.
No sign of our "wild" rabbit, Thumper, now for 3 days... I still haven't lost hope yet.  I've seen plenty of his "buddies" around but no Thump.
This must be the year of the "Ant" around our cottage this year. Big black ants just about everywhere. Not a whole lot but I see one walking around just about anywhere very often. I don't think ant traps work. I've put a couple out on the deck and watched them for quite awhile. Oh the ants see 'em all right but they just walk around them. I've never seen one actually walk into any of them. The only thing I've seen that really works is to spray them with insect spray directly but who has the time to sit around with a spray can all day. With the cost of the spray when you get that close I may as well just stomp on 'em. The black flies, (gnats) are back in force here, along the river. However, I heard this morning on the local news that they were supposed to begin another helicopter campaign today to eradicate them. That's okay with me. They don't bother us on the deck out back but boy when I mow the yard or go for a walk they attack with a vengeance.
Here in my office it's the same old - same old here today. Working on my name lists and filling a few orders although I'm hoping I get enough time today to build a web page advertisement today for a customer. It's back to work for me..... YOU have a GREAT day!

Back to work. I hope you had a 4 day weekend. We were hazed in here in Central Pennsylvania yesterday from the smoke of forest fires in Canada. It was so bad we couldn't even see the mountain on the other side of the river! As it was nice as far as the temperature goes and low in humidity, I decided to barbeque out on the deck and we ate out there also. We still have some of the smoke around today but the weather folks say it should move out today. Canada lost about a quarter of a million acres so far though. That's a shame. All from lightning strikes.
On our "heart" walk yesterday morning Betty and I had a Deer cross the road right in front of us. A beautiful almost sorrel (reddish) coat of hair on it. I sure hope it doesn't get near the highway which is only several hundred yards from our place. We haven't seen our "wild" rabbit, Thumper in over two days. Our neighbor about 2 city blocks up the street said he was up at her place day before yesterday and her grandson was playing with him. He even picked him up and petted him. Then he told his grandmother, Jane, that he was going to take him home! His dad and grandmother fortunately talked him out of it. I don't think Thumper would be happy all cooped up in a small cage. He'd better get his butt back here before someone else decides that he might make a good meal. Rabbit pot pie.... hmmmmmm.... (Where is that wily wabbit?)
I must work on my name lists today, here in the office and I have a couple of small orders to get out so......  YOU have a GREAT day!!!

T.G.I.F. I'm glad it's Friday that's for sure. I have to get some stuff done today and then I'm in for a great weekend. The humidity has went down some and made the heat much more bearable here in Central Pennsylvania. I know a lot of folks have a 4 day weekend and that's great, unfortunately I didn't. When you work for yourself you usually get less days off than most. Just the nature of the game I guess. Course I get to goof off some like posting this note daily. We're getting more and more visits from the River geese lately. I think as their "kids" grow they need more and more food. Apparently our back yard is loaded with grub for them!
I haven't seen our "wild" rabbit, Thumper for a couple of days. Each time this happens I think to myself that maybe he found a mate. Maybe we'll see little "Thumpers" running around here shortly.  Thank goodness we live in a region that is NOT hunted. Thumper is so friendly that if you wanted to kill him, you could pick him up and hit him with a hammer. Poor guy is just too friendly.
Well, I must do a lot of circular folding if we're going to get out the bulk mailing tomorrow.... So you have a GREAT Weekend!!!

Still steaming hot here, in Central Pennsylvania. Feels just like a sauna when you walk outside. Tomorrow is Independence Day. Only today yet to go. Most of us are taking off on July 4th. If I can get done what I'd like to get done I'll be taking off tomorrow too. Opps... me and the Computer... So I probably won't post here again until Friday. Betty and I would like to go out and eat lunch and pick up a few things we need but it's really hot. We do have air conditioning in the Jeep so it should be that bad. The heart medicine I'm on causes sensitivity to sunlight and these hot, humid days are even worse. It's miserable sometimes, getting old that is. But my bright side is, I feel I'm pretty darn lucky to have the opportunity to gain some age. So many folks we know have been dying off lately. Oh well, such is life.
Happy birthday to a "Chuck's Daily" reader, Angela Mesaric, born July 4th 1964, she is at that special age. Enjoy your 4th and your birthday Angela and we wish you many, many more! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
Whatever you have planned for the 4th please be careful. Drive safely if you must go out onto the highways and get home in one piece! Have a wonderful holiday. If you don't live in the U.S. stop tomorrow, after work of course, and drink a cold one for us here, the the good old U.S.A.!!!

We're still sweltering in the heat here, in Central Pennsylvania. According to the weather map this morning on TV looks like we have a lot of company over the U.S. I don't know which is worse the bill for the heat, or the bill for the Air Conditioners? Oh well it could always be worse. Betty and I decided to go out for lunch yesterday and went to the Chinese Buffet. I really like that restaurant. Heck even if you only get a tiny bit of everything to taste it you're full! They really have quite a selection. That and the fact that it's reasonably priced makes it my kind of place! We were going to pick up a few things we needed but decided to come back home as it was so darn hot. I think if I get time this afternoon, I'm going to try out the river for a swim for the first time this year. I saw a bunch of kids floating down the river on inner tubes and they looked pretty comfortable. That was on Sunday.
Betty's going to start assembling another mailing of my small magazine and I have quite a few small orders and inquiries to take care of. That should take care of the rest of the day even before I go to the Post Office and get today's mail. You have a GREAT day!

The lazy, hazy, crazy days of Summer. Yep they're here, in Central Pennsylvania. We're in for some very hot, humid weather here for the next few days. (Near 100 degrees tomorrow!) For around here, that's hot! We did have a Beautiful weekend here though. I fired up the barbeque out on the deck yesterday and I finally got some pictures of the geese and their "kids" although the "kids" are almost as big as mom and dad are already. The pictures aren't fantastic but you can see the geese. They wouldn't let me get too close. I swear the next digital camera I buy will have a telescopic lens. You can check the pictures out by clicking on "Chuck's Daily Photo Gallery 3" in the left hand column of this page. Our "wild" rabbit is back. Has been all weekend and Betty's been feeding him a couple of times a day. Betty has been gathering him up and bringing him back into the yard from the lane that goes by our house. We're afraid that he may get run over. I keep telling her we can't watch him all the time. I did see the rabbit go out on the lane yesterday afternoon and when Betty didn't go after him in about 5 minutes he came back himself and came up to the sliding glass door of the office and looked in as if to say, "Hey why didn't you come and get me?" We've officially named him "Thumper".
Our friend Kathy Fouse got through her operation just fine on Thursday and is home recuperating. Take care kid....
We did do some work yesterday afternoon and into the evening as we had to finish the OAMA stuff and get the mailings and statements ready to go into the mail today. There's where I'm heading now.... to the post office.   Have a GREAT day!
