T.G.I.F. Yep ready or not
the weekend is almost here. I'm really not ready for it yet as I did get
plenty done yesterday, however I did not finish all of the OAMA stuff... so
it's the nose to the grind stone today. It's going to be a great day today!
The weather here in Central Pennsylvania is a little on the rough side with
freezing rain and snow for today and tomorrow... but you can't have everything....
With our government in the
news a lot lately, here's some real "Old Time" humor to pick up your day!
Will Rogers on the Government and
Politics
* "I don't make jokes. I just watch the government and report the
facts."
* "With Congress, every time they make a joke it's a law, and
every time they make a law it's a joke."
* "Never blame a legislative body for not doing something. When
they do nothing, that don't hurt anybody. When they do something
is when they become dangerous."
* "Be thankful we're not getting all the government we're paying
for."
* "The trouble with practical jokes is that very often they get
elected."
* "The short memories of American voters is what keeps our
politicians in office."
* "The more you read and observe about this Politics thing, you
got to admit that each party is worse than the other. The one
that's out always looks the best."
* "Our public men are speaking every day on something, but they
ain't saying anything."
* "The budget is a mythical bean bag. Congress votes mythical
beans into it, and then tries to reach in and pull real beans out."
* "If you ever injected truth into politics you have no politics."
* "Everything is changing. People are taking the comedians
seriously and the politicians as a joke."
* "The income tax has made liars out of more Americans than golf."
* "The only difference between death and taxes is that death
doesn't get worse every time Congress meets."
* "I don't want to complain, but every time they build a tax
structure, the first thing they nail is me.
For me it's back to the grindstone
here, but YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend! (I'll see you
back here Monday, in February!)

Another beautiful but cold
day here, in Central Pennsylvania at the Blue Bird Cottage. It's cold and
crisp out. I guess that's the best way to describe it here. It's supposed to
warm up a little today near the freezing mark of 32 degrees. Sounds good to
me. The birds and squirrels must already know this as they are out moving
around early here looking for food.
Everything is going smoothly here in my small office on the east side of the
cottage and I'll be working all day today on the
Once A Month Association
writing a Newsletter,
revising the Monthly Member
Benefit Directory, and Revising the Quarterly Dealer Directory. I'm not
sure If I'll get to running the statements and checks today but if I can
finish the rest, I'll be a happy camper.
Here are some more goofy laws that believe it or not, are still on the books
to hopefully brighten your day:
California law forbids
sleeping in the kitchen.. but allows cooking in the bedroom!
It's a felony in Montana
for a wife to open a telegram addressed to her husband. (It's not a crime for
the husband to open telegrams addressed to his wife!)
You can gargle in Louisiana
if you want to, but it's against the law to do it in public!
In Maryland it's against
the law for grandchildren to marry their grandparents!
It's against the law to
anchor your boat to the train tracks in Jefferson City, Missouri!
Mail order friends, don't
miss tomorrow Daily as I'll be putting up an opportunity that if you like it
and take advantage, you can pretty well be assured of success!
That's about it for today
and I'd better get to work on the OAMA stuff so for me I'm back to work, and
for YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

The middle of the week
already and all is fine here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania.
At least I think I'm in central Pennsylvania. It's been hard to tell the last
couple weeks as it's felt like we're living near the North Pole, Weather-wise
that is. It's been colder here than a ............ remember when they
used to ask Johnny Carson how cold it was? Well, it's now that cold here!!!.....
Had a great day here in my small office yesterday.. Got plenty done and
looking forward to a very productive day today. Although it's really cold here
it is really pretty outside as is snowing and everything always looks nice and
clean when it's snowing. The squirrels are out playing in the snow and there
are several birds that I can see from my office door. Wow, this coffee sure
does taste good this morning! Hold on a second I think I'll get another
cup.... Aaah... yes, that's much better...... Nothing beats that morning
coffee for a nice feeling of contentment.
I don't think we'll be trapped here at the cottage too long today because of
the snow as I don't think we are to get that much. In the meantime it will
give me the chance to get plenty done as I'm still working on my
magazine/newsletter and also doing printing for my bulk mailings. It's been a
good month for orders and it doesn't seem to be slacking off at all. I've
received plenty pre-launch entries yesterday and am working on them this
morning.
It's just as it sounds, I'm busy and must get back to work and YOU, YOU have a
GREAT day!

We're still in a deep
freeze here at the Blue Bird Cottage. It went down to 9 degrees above last
night and believe me it felt like it! We've got some extra heaters going and take
my word for it we need them. It is supposed to be a little warmer than
yesterday, (I think they are calling for it to get all the way up to 27
degrees. We didn't even get to 20 degrees yesterday! Yes, it's a VERY cold
winter here in Central Pennsylvania.
Actually it's a little colder here than it is a most places around our area as
we are living right beside a huge ice cube! I must get a picture up here for
you to see it..
As yesterday was Monday, (a very big day for a lot of mail), I received plenty
of entries into
Mark
Smith & My New Pre-Launch For International Coin Liquidators.
I received so many of them I just could not get them all done last night so
I'm trying to finish them before my trip to the post office.
I thought I'd pick your day up with a couple more Crazy Laws that are still on
the books:
"In Hartford, Connecticut, transporting a cadaver by taxi is punishable by a
$5 fine!"
"In Michigan, it's illegal
for a woman to cut her own hair without her husband's permission!"
"You can ride your bike on
main streets in Forgan, Oklahoma, but it's against the law to ride it
backwards!"
"If you tie an elephant to
a parking meter in Orlando, Florida, you have to feed the meter just as if the
elephant were a car!"
On that note.... it's back
to work for me and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Wow! What a weekend! We
even warmed up a little here, at the Blue Bird Cottage! Yesterday we went up
to 31 degrees... It's been 14 days since we were above freezing here in
Central Pennsylvania. Today our high is predicted at 19 degrees above zero!
Yep we're still in the deep freeze here at the Blue Bird Cottage. I bought
some wild bird seed on Friday and the birds are enjoying some good stuff.....
The squirrels are still munching on the stuff I picked up last week for them
and our "wild"
rabbit is still enjoying his favorite food, stale wheat bread, carrots,
and rabbit mix from the feed store... So..... looks like all the animals
and birds will make it through this "extreme" winter around our place. Over
the weekend I've worked pretty hard. Even last night during the super bowl, (I
do have a TV on my desktop), so I was watching the super bowl while I
was working, but the main point is that I got caught up pretty good over the
weekend. I now must concentrate on getting out another edition of my
Chuck's Mail Order News & Opportunities the first part of this week as the
end of the month is drawing near and that's when I must get out all of the
Once A Month Association statements,
newsletter, and
monthly member benefit
directory, and this month the quarterly dealer directory. So it's going to
be a full week around this small office. Also our
Pre-launch is running out at the
end of this week so I expect a surge in member sign ups for that! Wow! Looks
like we're in for a GREAT week here at my small office at the Blue Bird
Cottage!
The Florida Buccaneers sure did surprise me last night as I really thought the
Raiders would sweep them.. It turned out that Florida were the ones doing the
sweeping! 48 to 21 ..... Wow! Almost sounds like a basketball
score! Good for them... They sure did work for it! It's always nice to
see the underdog win, isn't it?
Well, I'd better get my butt back to work and you're probably tired reading my
bull so it's back to work for me, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT
day!!!

T.G.I.F Ready or not the
weekend has almost arrived. I don't think it's going to help warm us up here,
in Central Pennsylvania but the Super Bowl just might keep us moving around
some from
rooting and provide a little more warmth for us.
My trip to the heart doctor yesterday was a little disappointing as he wants
me to take another Stress test for my heart to make sure one of the stents he
put in my heart is still open as far as it should be. That is scheduled for
the 3rd week of next month. I don't look forward to it but I do want to know
that all is okay inside my heart. Hopefully this will tell us if it is,
although the last stress test gave him no idea that I had 3 clogged arteries!
The only way they were caught was my bitching to him that something seemed
wrong until he finally decided to do a Heart Catheter procedure. Oh well,
we'll have to wait and see what this one does.. I sure do hope all turns out
alright as I'm getting the craps of going to the doctor and hospital.
It was so cold yesterday that I didn't even see one of the squirrels out and
about let along our
"wild" rabbit.
I've never seen our coal bin diminish so fast plus the extra cost for kerosene
and propane. That's bad enough but at least we're keeping warm. I wonder how
these "homeless" folks are doing. I'm talking about the ones that are homeless
by choice. On local TV last night it showed some people who work at a local
shelter trying to talk some of them into coming into a shelter. Most said no
way they were staying in their cardboard huts. Wow, still makes me wander how
the heck they stay warm in those things?
The entries are still coming in for our pre-launch so it's back to work for me
and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!!!

Whoa, we're living beside a
big GIANT ice cube here in Central Pennsylvania at the Blue Bird cottage....
Wow! the ice on the river has stopped moving and we are in the middle of the
freeze of the century here in Dauphin, PA... It's not supposed to get warmer
than 16 today! Ouch! Baby that's cold! Too darn cold for me..
It's early here at the moment as I must go for another doctor's appointment at
the cardiologist this morning at 9:30AM. It's so darn cold I hate to go
outside and get into the car... We'll have to shut off our extra heaters
and just let the stoker stove take over until we get back home. I just don't
trust letting the heaters on without someone keeping an eye on them. So it
will be afternoon 'til we return, probably. Unless we get done at the doctor's
earlier than expected. No big deal, just a follow up from the operation of the
3 stents I had put in my heart back at the end of November. Maybe an
adjustment in medication or whatever. At least as far as I know...
Still getting plenty of entries in for
Mark
Smith & My New Pre-Launch For International Coin Liquidators
so that's still going on strong. Also, plenty of mail and inquiries and
orders. This is a good time of the year for this business. I hate to take most
of the day off as I can use some extra time here in the office but that's the
way it goes.
Well as you surmised time is short so it's back to getting ready for a
doctor's visit and for YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

The freeze is still on
here, in Central Pennsylvania and if anything it's getting colder. Last night
it went down to 8 degrees and tonight it's supposed to get even colder. Not cold for some areas of the country but for
here, it's darn cold.
The squirrels really enjoyed themselves yesterday when they found some of the
new food I put out for them. The squirrel mixture is pretty neat and even has
unshelled peanuts mixed in with it. Of course it also has finely ground grains
in it and the birds got their share of that. That's okay, this year all of the
animals in our neighborhood are just trying to get enough to survive.
As yesterday was the first day for mail since Saturday I received quite a pile
of it. I also received 23 more entries for
Mark
Smith & My New Pre-Launch For International Coin Liquidators.
Wow that alone was a pile of work that took a little over three hours to finish!
I also received numerous inquiries that must be answered and about 9 small
orders that must be finished. Even working until 11PM last night I got done
all of the entries and just a couple of the inquiries so they are all saved
for today's pile of work. That should keep me out of trouble until I make a
trip to the post office this afternoon. Well all this is building up to "I
must get back to work", and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!! Oh, I almost
forgot to mention that our river that runs behind our cottage, the mighty
Susquehanna, has been covered with ice the last couple of weeks but over night
the ice stopped moving. Now it looks like a frozen wasteland! I'll try and get
a picture of it today to put up here so you can see it.

We're STILL in a
cold spell here in Central Pennsylvania. I really miss going for my daily
walks but I'm not allowed to walk unless the temperature is above 40 degrees.
It hasn't been above the freezing mark in over a week! Nothing much we can do
about it just ride it out I suppose.
We had a pretty good weekend and I did get some work done here in the office.
We had to go pick up kerosene yesterday so we stopped and ate out for lunch. I
also stopped at the Feed Store and bought some squirrel food. The poor
squirrels have been having rough time trying to find food here lately. I watch
out the office sliding glass door and every day there is at least 4 or 5 of
them all over the front yard foraging for food. OH! I've got to tell you I saw
something yesterday that I've NEVER seen in my life. Our
"Wild Rabbit"
was looking for his daily meal so I set a plate out on the front step right
outside my door as I like to watch him while he's eating. He was there
munching away for about 10 minutes when one of the squirrels took a dive for
the step where the rabbit was eating trying to steal some food. The Rabbit and
the squirrel were actually biting at each other for a few seconds and then the
Rabbit ran off. The squirrel had won and grabbed a nice size piece of stale
Wheat bread and ran for the big pine tree and up he went with the bread. The
Rabbit was really shaken and was hiding over under the Jeep so I took his
plate over to him and set it under the Jeep with him where he
munched on it
for the next half hour. That's one of the reasons I thought I'd better buy
something for the squirrels something for themselves to eat.
Mark
Smith & My New Pre-Launch For International Coin Liquidators
is still going full blast as we
now have over 330 people in it! Beyond my expectations! If you're not in you
still have some time left to join and get some under you.. Check it out!
It's time for me to get back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

T.G.I.F. Here we are again,
at the threshold of a new weekend. Yep just a few more hours and we get a
chance to enjoy another GREAT weekend. Football games, beer, movies, and beer,
and our ladies get a chance to hone their cooking skills in the kitchen.
Oops... what am I saying? Ouch! Don't hit your computer screen, I felt that, I
didn't mean it, I was just kidding, honest! Honest Injun!!!! We will
enjoy it very much if you join us on the couch to watch a nice movie, maybe
even a great musical. Oops... now I'm going the other way... Just enjoy
YOUR weekend. You don't need any suggestions from me. I'll probably end
up working most of mine anyway. I do hope to get a little time off though to
enjoy at least one movie and one football game..
We're still in the deep freeze here, in Central Pennsylvania and looks like
we'll stay there until at least next week.
Our "Wild Rabbit"
isn't enjoying this cold weather much. I least I don't think he is as he's
always hungry. Guess he needs more food to keep warm. He's been shoveling it
down here lately. About 4 days ago we hadn't seen him. We were really pitying
him as we thought for some reason he got lost or what ever. We had to leave to
go grocery shopping and when we went out to get in the Jeep the neighbor lady
shouted for us to look under her porch, yep there he was, stuffing himself
with lettuce the little beggar had conned the neighbors out of. Yeah, he
is sure NOT starving!
Well my day as well as yours is moving along quite rapidly and I have quite a
few things to get done before my weekend starts. As for YOU, YOU
have a GREAT weekend and the Computer and I will see you, right back
here, on Monday morning...

We're still in a deep
freeze here, in Central Pennsylvania. Looks like we're going to be in this
very cold stage until at least Monday of next week. Hopefully it will start
warming up a bit. It's good I just put that feed motor in our stoker stove as
it's running full time lately with this extremely cold weather!
Spent most of yesterday afternoon and evening shopping for groceries and
business supplies. Got some paper at Sam's Club and one of the stops on the
way home was a discount outfit called, "Ollie's" and there I found the best
buy I've been able to take advantage of in some time.... I needed some 9" X
12" envelopes and I picked up a box at Sam's Club, but they weren't exactly
what I was looking for. I was looking for 9" X 12" catalog envelopes. So when
we stopped at Ollie's I looked to see if they had any. They make buy outs of
business closures etc. and you never know what they'll have in stock. I looked
around and couldn't find any envelopes except regular size ones. Then I
started browsing through the computer stuff and my eyes just wandered off to
the left to this pile of boxes that had a small sticker on them that read
"Catalog Envelopes" amount 250. Yep, you guessed it, exactly what I was
looking for and they were packed 250 to the box! Now are you ready for the
price, $7.95! I bought 5 boxes. There were still 2 left but I think the 5
boxes will hold me for awhile even as fast as my small business eats them up!
The last I bought catalog envelopes, (about 3 weeks ago was at "Staples" and
they ran me $13.95 for a box of hundred. Talk about saving some bucks! Wow! I
sure does pay to shop around, doesn't it? I can't wait for the yard sales to
start again. I always find a lot of bargains at them to save money at home and
for my small business. It makes you feel good when you get a bargain that you
can really use! You just can't beat that feeling.
Talk about a feeling, I feel I'd better get back to work as I didn't get
anything done, here in the office, yesterday afternoon and evening so I'd
better get back to work right now..... and YOU, YOU have a
GREAT day!!!

The middle of the week so
far and we're still in a freeze here, in Central Pennsylvania, with no sign
that it's going to change any time soon. Yep, it's definitely winter time!
I spend so much time in front of my computers I think their getting some of my
personality imbedded into their hard drives. I swear at times these darn
things are alive. No they're not talking to me and getting me to do their
bidding but just little things...... oh well I'd better not touch that
or you'll be calling the guys in the white coats on me.
Seems like lately there are a lot of great sales going on at the office supply
and electronic stores lately. Maybe they're trying to build some cash flow, after the Christmas season. I've seen quite a few items that I think
I'll check out before the end of this week. Might pay for you to take a look
at your office stores near you as they are probably doing the same thing this
time of the year. Ben Franklin was right when he said, "A penny saved, is a
penny earned." Only trouble is you have to bring that up to date with "A
dollar saved, is a dollar earned." Same thing..... If you're thinking
about upgrading your computer, RAM memory is at it's lowest! I've been
involved with computers long enough to remember when one meg of RAM cost $40.
Yep $40 bucks a meg. I up-graded one of my first computers from 4 megs of RAM
to 8 megs of RAM and it ran me well over $160 with tax! Boy I really thought I
was really on the cutting edge with 8 megs of RAM! It really did speed up
things but now days it would seem as slow as molasses in January. I was happy
though and I was running my entire business with it and it was doing
everything that was necessary. Now that same computer would seem archaic and
it would be. However at the time I was happy as a clam with it.
These days you can buy the latest thing and by the end of the week most of the
stuff in it is already half outdated! Oh well the trick is to buy something
that will do everything you want it to and then just don't read the computer
ads for the next 3 years at least. As long as you don't know that everything
out there is bigger, more streamlined, and faster, you'll stay satisfied with
your computer and equipment.
Well, I have lots to get done, here in my small office today, for for me it's
back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!

Super cold outside last
night and this morning and it's supposed to stay that way for the next several
days here, in Central Pennsylvania.
I delivered the Computer yesterday afternoon and got it set up with no
problems. Finally everything just went fine and it was downloading from the
Internet when I left.
I received another 24 entries into
Mark & Chuck's New Pre-Launch For
International Coin Liquidators
yesterday. We are at this moment just a few shy of 300 folks in the downline
and that's after only about 6 weeks! It's actually doing better than I
originally expected! You mail order friends, if you haven't joined as of yet,
you still have time!
I ran into a couple of weird, odd items that I thought you may like;
"Annette Montoya, 11, of
Belen, New Mexico, and her parents were arrested for forgery after Annette, in
the company of her father, attempted to open a bank account with a $900,000
check. The girl told sheriff's deputies that she earned the money doing 'some
yard work.' During the interrogation, she crossed her heart and said, 'Hope to
die if I'm lying.'"
From the BRI files: Lagos,
Nigeria -- Two small buses collided when their drivers tried to slap each
others' hands in greeting, the News Agency of Nigeria reported. Seven people
died; the two drivers were among them.
In Kentucky, it's against
the law to throw eggs at a public speaker!
In Shawnee, Oklahoma, it's
illegal for three or more dogs to "meet" on private property without the
consent of the owner.
On that note, it's back to
work for me, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!

The beginning of a brand
new week and all is well! It sure does seem that way anyway. How is your day
going so far? Isn't it great just to be alive!!! It sure is for me.... I just
love it! I'll be headed up to a friends house today to deliver a
computer I sold him.. I spent about 7 hours yesterday preparing it for
him. Believe me I was not prepared to spend all of this time getting it ready
for him.... It turned out to be quite a project. At any rate I think the
guy will really be impressed with it. I loaded some nice programs into
it and also some extra programs that he will not be expecting.. That
will really make it a fun visit... As you can surmise I will not get much work
done, here in the office this morning... I sure hope I'll be able to catch up
this afternoon. We'll just have to wait and see. Other people will be
happy today so maybe that will make up for my small inconvenience. I
have a few things to get done before I go so for me it's back to work and
YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

T.G.I.F. Yep, it's almost
here... the weekend that is. I know I'm ready for a break. Don't mind working
this weekend but I'd like to do a different kind of work. Something to get me
out of this office for awhile. It will be a good weekend... I can feel it in
my bones. We had a beautiful sunny day yesterday in the mid 50s... Just enough
to remind me what spring is like. I'm now looking forward to Spring. I do
realize at the moment, it's a long way off though and it will be much colder
here in Central Pennsylvania in the next 12 hours. Oh well, it was nice
while it lasted though.
To start your weekend off
with a chuckle, or maybe not. (Might make you a little angry but don't let it.
After all there's nothing we can do about it.) Here's a few more of the same
as yesterday with Your Government At Work;
*Sociology. "$84,000 [was] approved by Congress for a project to
discover why people fall in love." (Great Government Goofs)
*Fighting Poverty. $5 million was approved by Congress as an
interest-free loan to Sears, Roebuck under the federal "antipoverty" funds
program. (Great Government Goofs)
*Space travel. "The National Aeronautics and Space Administration
spent $23 million to build a prototype toilet for the space shuttle - a 900%
increase over the original estimate. Why the overrun? The astronauts wanted a
manual flush rather than an automatic one." (From Goofy Government Grants &
Wacky Waste)
*National history. "$107,000 was appropriated by Congress for a
project to study the sex life of the Japanese quail." (Great Government
Goofs)
*Medical research. "In 1993 the Physicians Committee for
Responsible Medicine termed 'outlandish' a $3 million federally funded
research project to determine whether marijuana will make rabbits more
susceptible to syphilis and mice more prone to contract Legionnaires'
disease." (Stupid Government Tricks)
*On-the-spot research. "More than $7 million is spent each year by
politicians on junkets to popular vacation spots around the world. It's called
'business travel.' As a matter of fact, when the government's fiscal year is
about to run out, there's an estimated 48% increase in government business
travel." (Goofy Government Grants & Wacky Waste)
What's going on lately?
Here's one I learned about from our local newspaper.
With
U.S. joblessness now at 5.8 percent, employed Americans are clinging to their
positions for dear life. Layoff notices — such as the recent announcements of
3,000 workers sacked at GE Capital and 9,400 fired at Motorola — have become
as integral to the evening news as weather reports. Against this wartime
backdrop, America's insatiable Congress has behaved disgracefully by hiking
its annual pay from $145,100 to $150,000
That's about a 5 Grand raise. That's about a 3.5% increase. After all they
need it. They must be starving at those salaries.. However in contrast, the raise
for our elderly and infirm that are on Social Security the increase for "cost
of living" was a mere 1.4%.
In other words if your Social Security check is $600 a month, your increase
for this year is a whopping $8.40 more a month!!! $8.40 as opposed to
$5,000 for congress, that's about fair, isn't it?
For the way the money is being spent, (above), or should I say wasted, it's good
April 14th is coming near as they must be running out of money pretty soon.
It's the time of the year for them to "stock up" again!! Think about that
awhile.... Make's you head hurt, doesn't it???? HA!
I have a lot to finish here
in my small office, so it's time for me to get back to work... and YOU,
YOU have a GREAT Weekend!!!

It's supposed to be a
pretty nice day here in Central Pennsylvania with temperatures going into the
mid 50's. Not bad compared to the last week or so.
The river is back down into it's banks where it belongs and the drought
measures have been lifted by most of the counties in Central Pennsylvania
after nearly a year.
I was reading an article today titled: Your Government At Work; Here
are a few of excerpts from it;
*Real Estate "In 1986 the National Park Service bought a half
acre of land in southwest Washington, C. C., for $230,000. In 1988 someone
discovered that the Park Service already owned the land--they bought it in
1914! (Great Government Goofs)
*Streamlining the Pentagon. "During the 1980 Department of Defense
efficiency experts saved between $27 million and $136 million each year!
However, the efficiency experts cost between $150 million and $300 million
each year." (Stupid Government Tricks)
*Reimbursement. "According to a 1989 report by the State Department
Watch, a private watchdog organization, the Department of State issued
eighteen thousand travel expense checks without getting corroborating evidence
for the expenses. One check for $9,000 was issued to 'Ludwig van Beethoven,'
whose Social Security number was listed as 123-45-6789." (Stupid Government
Tricks)
Now don't that make you
feel much better that April 15th is on it's way and you'll be able to help
your government even more with your hard earned money? Kind of makes you feel
all warm and fuzzy inside, doesn't it? -- I'll bring you some more of
these "funny" reports in the near future.
Now, today I have an
appointment down at Hershey Medical Center and I have a few things I must get
done before I leave for that so it's back to work for me and YOU,
YOU have a GREAT day!!!

The middle of the week
already!
I was glancing through my old Farmer's Almanac, (year - 1900) and for January
I found some wonderful tips. Here, have a look for yourself I think you'll
enjoy them too:
The farmer's as well as the
mechanic's home, is made more attractive by having a few pot plants in the
sitting room during the winter months. Geraniums are hard and easily cared
for, and, what is important, will blossom at all seasons of the year; some
hardy pinks are desirable; a small orange tree with its ripening fruit is
always interesting; and a few pots of strawberries are very attractive. The
green leaves, the white blossoms and the ripening fruit in mid-winter, afford
an attraction not only to the members of the home, but to all visitors.
Here's another: Winter
apples should be kept in a temperature about eight degrees above that which
will freeze water; and they should not be disturbed until wanted for the
market, or for use. the old practice of picking over apples every week to get
the partially decayed to use in the family, was a very bad one, and has been
abandoned by modern farmers as very wasteful. (Don't forget this is from the
1900 edition of The Old Farmer's Almanac!) Pretty neat!
The new motor for our
stoker stove did arrive yesterday via UPS however it got here a bit too late
for me to disassemble the stove and install it. I figured it would be warmer
today anyway so I'm going to take the time today and install it.
I got pretty well caught up yesterday with most of my orders and inquiries at
least until I picked up the mail. It was a good mail day and I'm still working
on the stuff from yesterday. So...... for me it's back to work, and YOU,
YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Looks like the snows are over
here in Central Pennsylvania, at least for a little while. Lately it seems
like not a day goes by that we don't get some snow.
Apparently our feeder motor is going bad in our stoker stove so yesterday I
call the factory up in Bloomsburg Pennsylvania and ordered a new one. It's so
small it fits in the palm of your hand and the cost is $110.00. I guess you
can't go by the size of things. The other one is still working but you can
sure hear the bearings going out on it. So I'll have to shut it down and off
today to disassemble and put in the new motor.. (This is if UPS gets here in
time with the new motor today.) Shouldn't take more than a
couple of hours but then I'll have to give it a quick cleaning and build
another fire. Apparently according to my records these little motors have a
life span of about 4 years. I bought the last 2 about 4 years apart and now
this one is about 4 years since I replaced it.
I have a few small orders to
get out this afternoon plus what the mail brings. I've also got to clean the
hard drive and reinstall Windows 98 on a computer that I just sold. I'll have
to take it and set it up for the guy before the end of this week. I hope to
get that done this afternoon too.
Yesterday I had 21 entries into
Mark Smith & My New Pre-Launch For
International Coin Liquidators
! That program is really going nuts. It's going to be great when these
pre-launchers join the main program, International Coin
Liquidators. Yep, this year is going to be a very profitable year.
Yesterday I received a full page of questions from someone who indicates that
they would like to try my
Print & Mail Service. I guess about 10 questions. The only problem is
that he or she never put their name and address on the envelope or inside on
the question sheet. I can picture this person after about 1 week or two thinking I
couldn't even take the time to answer their questions and I know they'll be
angry with me because they will never think that they forgot to send their
name and address. Ah, another day in the life of a mail order dealer...
It's back to work for me and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!

The beginning of a brand
new week and all is well. At least I think it is. I'm feeling a WHOLE lot
better. My cold is well on it's way out and good riddens! I even got a great
nights sleep last night and I'm raring to go here this morning! It's about
time too. I have never had a cold hang on that long. Now, just maybe, even
though it's late, I can enjoy Christmas and the New Years.. I know I'm
late, but we still have our tree up and it's now time to visit our family one
by one, and exchange gifts. Because of my cold we missed out on the yearly
family get-together but better late than never to at least exchange gifts....
I hope you had a wonderful weekend. Here, in central Pennsylvania our weather
has been less than calm. The River was up to over 10 feet on Saturday. It's at
flood stage at 12˝ feet. We've had snow storms, ice storms, and just plain
rain and that's within the last 4 days! What a mixture, never a dull moment.
You sure can't plan for anything as you don't know if you'll be able to drive
there or not!
I did get out all the paperwork for the
Once a Month Association an
although it's a few days late, members should receive it at the beginning of
this week. I was going to take Sunday off but never made it as I still had a
lot of entries coming in that must go out today for
Mark Smith & My New Pre-Launch For
International Coin Liquidators.
Holy cats... it's actually exploding as of now we have 212 members in it and
that's only after 4 weeks! We still have almost 4 weeks to go!
Well, looks like I'm in for a bunch of work today. I sure don't mind as I'm
feeling much better, so it's back to work for me, and YOU, YOU
have a GREAT day!!!

T.G.I.F. Yep here we are at
the end of a short work week for some of us. Here in Central Pennsylvania
we're having another snow storm. Don't know how much accumulation we'll get
yet but it may be substantial. Oh well, it is wintertime.
I'm still fighting this darn cold. I've NEVER had one hang on this long. I was
talking to a lady we know yesterday and she said that most of the people she knows
that have had a cold lately also said that they've had a heck of a time
shaking it. Must be a new strain. Maybe the common cold will be the end of us
after all.
I'm running late this month with my
Once a Month Association
Newsletter, Monthly Member Benefit Directory, statements, checks, etc. Partly
because of the holidays and partly because I've been feeling like crap and
it's hard to put in my usual 12 to 14 hours a day. I'm working on it now and I
should have it out by tomorrow. Things tend to get behind when you can't put
in the work hours. Hopefully I'll be able to shake this darn thing in the next
few days.
Looks like we won't have our regular Family Christmas get-together this year.
We postponed it for last Sunday because of my cold and now we not only
postponed if for this Sunday but thought we'd better let the family off the
hook. So we've decided that as soon as I'm feeling better and not so
contagious we'll go around to each home to take the kids, grandkids, etc.
their presents and maybe even collect a few ourselves. Just one of those
things. The only thing that perturbs me is that we'll miss seeing their
Christmas trees and decorations. Heck 'til we get around they'll have taken
everything down. Oh well I'll just be glad to shake this darn cold.
Mark Smith and My Pre-Launch for
the International Coin
Liquidators is really exploding. As of this morning we have 198 members!
We are growing daily!!! If you haven't joined yet there is still time. Click
on the above and get the information. Only 2 bucks to join the pre-launch to
begin to build your downline!
The weekend is almost here and I must get some more work done, (a lot), until
I can enjoy my weekend, so for me it's back to work. YOU, well YOU
have a GREAT weekend!!!

I'm back...... We're
starting the new year off here, in central Pennsylvania with rain, rain, and
more rain.. Yes, I can go so far as to say we are wet here. Now, we have
finally caught up from our drought that we've had over the last two years. I'm
really glad to hear it but I would like to see some dry weather.
I still can't shake the bad cold I've been carrying around for almost 2 weeks.
Coughing and hacking though half the night, every night, gets to be tiring
after awhile. Plus, blowing my nose, (thank goodness for Puffs!), and just
leaking mucus from just about every orifice. It gets not only tiring but my
nose is so sore it's pitiful. I've never had a cold that was this darn
intense. Must be a new strain. Betty and I have been trying to stay apart,
like sleeping etc., but I'm still surprised that Betty hasn't caught it yet. I
sure hope I can shake it before she does get it. I hate to see someone else in
misery and know that I was the cause of it.. What a bummer......
Did you make any resolutions for the new year? I didn't. I think I'm past that
stage. I think any time is a good time to make them. If you think they will
help your health, welfare, and general well being then you don't have to wait
'til New Year's Day to make them. Make them and follow though any time of the
year.
I just tore the last page off of my "Life's Little Instruction Calendar
Volume VII" that Betty's son and Daughter-in-law bought for me for
last Christmas and the last tip is "Never be too busy to meet someone new."
Now that's good advice at any time of the year.. I'm going to miss that
little calendar. All I can hope is that John and Debbie got me a new one for
this year. I don't know yet as I have been ill we still have not met to
exchange gifts. Hopefully this darn cold will let up and we'll get
together this weekend. I sure hope so. I must buy some more food for our
outside animals as they are having a tough time this year finding some. Each
day I have at least five squirrels outside my front glass door, here at the
office, searching for food and of course our
"wild rabbit"
stops in at least every other day for his fill. Well, as usual and some
because of this darn cold, I'm running behind with just about everything so
for me it's back to work, and YOU,
YOU have a Wonderful Day!!!!!!

The first day of the year
and all is well and good!! Let's keep it that way the rest of the year.
Remember, no matter how bad you have it, physically, emotionally, or money
wise, there is always someone who has it worse! Let's think of them on this
first day of our future. Have a wonderful, safe, happy, and prosperous
New Year!!!!!
