Rain, rain, rain and then some more rain....  Apparently the hurricane, Katrina didn't let all of it's rain down south... I guess it didn't want to slight us any up here in the north. Hopefully it will be out of here before too long....
We really had a storm here overnight.....  Blowing and the rain came down in sheets.... Lots of limbs and debris to pick up out in the yard but we faired out pretty well compared to some folks that live not that far away who got hit by tornadoes!
Right now I'm waiting on the coal man to get here.... He's supposed to be here by 9:30 and he is usually pretty prompt. Looks like our coal, being unloaded into the garage, will be soaking wet.... (I hate when that happens as it usually takes a week or two until it dries out.) Oh well, I can't do anything about that and I'm sure the coal man would sooner he would not be working in the rain as well.....
*********************************
I'm still working to get all of the
Once A Month Association stuff done in time for it to go out into today's mail.. I did get most of it done yesterday including the Newsletter and the Monthly Member Benefit Directory but I still must run statements and write checks etc... It will be a few hours until it's all ready to go to the post office.....
**********************************
We're still receiving entries for the
Pre-Launch program to go into the Elements business this morning even though today is the last day to get applications back here, so I can assign everyone properly and get them back to the Elements company. I received a couple of FAXED applications this morning so far and I expect there will be more come in before the day is over... So far the sign up rate looks good but I won't know until the "smoke clears" just how many will come in.
If you didn't get yours in yet.... you still have time.... You can always fax it to me.... Just check your application for my FAX number... Don't forget, the higher the autopay you sign up for the more FREE members the company will place into your downline!
***********************************
A lot of folks call and write me to ask where I get my names to build my small downline programs so big....  Well, I get them from a guy named Terry Thomas, TJT Publications.... in California... Terry is a great guy and really knows his business. He is so sure of his name leads that he gives a guarantee of up to 50˘ each for any nixes!
He also CASS certifies them with the USPS Certification CASS disk BEFORE he sends the names to his customers...
A lot of folks don't realize this but he also supplies specialized names. He has 4 different categories, Opportunity Seekers, MLM Participants, Serious Active Mailers, and In-House Buyers. BEFORE you order names from him tell him just what you are promoting so he does NOT give you the same names he has sold to someone else promoting the same program! You can find all the details and order form just by clicking here: TJT Marketing Associates Names. Go for it and tell him that Chuck sent you....
***********************************
It's almost time for the coal man so I'd better rap this up and post it. Then after we get our load of coal, I'm going to get back to work and finish the OAMA stuff and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!!!

Tuesday, August 30, 2005

It's another hazy, cloudy morning here in Central Pennsylvania and I suppose it will pretty much stay that way for awhile as the weather folks are saying by tonight we should start seeing some of the "tail end" of Katrina by this evening. I hope it's not that bad. At least I have my fingers crossed that it won't be.
It's going to be a long, hard haul for the poor folks down in Louisiana over the next few months. They sure have a lot of clean up and rebuilding to do...
According to THIS report, there are a lot of folks who didn't even make it through the catastrophe!
************************************
The end of the month is just about here and things are piling up around here as usual. I called for a load of coal a couple of weeks ago that I told them to deliver at their convenience as we did have several weeks until I would be "firing" up the stoker. Would you believe it? They picked Wednesday at 9:30 AM to deliver it. The last day of the month. Seems like everything always "backs up" at the end of the month!
Coal prices went up again just since the beginning of this year. I don't think it costs them any more money to mine it, I just think, as usual, when gasoline and oil prices rise, they, the coal industry, just jumps right on the "band wagon" and raises their prices too.
Whenever I mention it to the coal man, he say's, "Look at the bright side, how would you like to be heating with oil?" Well, Mr. Coal Man, I wouldn't, that's why I bought a coal furnace that cost twice what an oil furnace would have! I have more work with the coal stoker.... as it must be filled once a day and the ashes need dumped once a day but it IS a heck of a lot cheaper than oil, even with the rise in cost of the coal.
I ordered 3 and a half tons of coal and it will cost $536.00. That should last us about 3/4 of the coming winter. That's not too bad, you might think....  but I remember when coal sold for $8.00 a ton! I know, I know... that was back in the "dark ages".... but the cost of inflation did not raise the price THAT much... It was the cost rise of the "other" fuels that made the coal prices rise...
Everybody wants to screw one another.... (The American Way???)  I sure hope not!
************************************
I'll be working on the working on the end of the month stuff like the
Once A Month Association, the Newsletter, monthly statements, and the OAMA Monthly Member Benefit Directory, and of course the checks etc. today.
We may have to take a break this afternoon for a visit to the hospital as we have a friend in there that's not doing well at all..... I'm afraid we're going to lose him shortly....
I don't look forward to it..... Oh well.....
Other that that and a few orders that came in I'll be able to devote the rest of the day to the end of the month stuff.
I'll have to take some time to get out into the garage and get ready for the coal man tomorrow morning...
Yep, I'm in for another VERY busy day today......
So with that in mind..... it's back to work of me, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!!

We're starting out our week here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania with a cloudy very humid morning. It's supposed to rain off and on all day today.
I was sorry to get up to the news this morning that Hurricane Katrina had slammed into New Orleans and is headed north. We usually get the tail end of these hurricanes here in Pennsylvania. Of course we'll get nothing, later in the week, compared to what they're receiving down there right now! There will be a LOT of homeless people down there before the next 24 hours is up.
*********************************
Oil prices have topped out at over $70 a barrel and it looks like they're still on the rise!!!
To give you an idea of how the cost of gasoline is impacting the cost to fill your gas tank here's what it cost in California at $2.70 a gallon to fill your SUV. (Gasoline is not far from that cost here, in Central Pennsylvania right now!)
Pretty soon we're going to have to take out a loan to fill our gas tank!
You can only blow up a balloon so far until it bursts. If this trend continues I think this country is in for some serious "protesting" from it's citizens, and that's putting it mildly!
*********************************
After my "operation" last week, (see Thursday, August 25th, this weekend has been less than enjoyable. I've been able to eat very little other than liquids. Today, however, I'm going to give "real food" a try. I've got my fingers crossed!
I also have an appointment with the doctor, who performed the "job", for this afternoon. Hopefully he'll be bringing me "up-to-date" on my "condition" and why I've been is so much paid since he's done the job.
I wish he would have had the forethought to prescribe some pain pills for me before he left the hospital on Thursday... Oh well, such is life.....
**********************************
Applications are still pouring in for the Pre-Launch program for the Elements business. If you have received your "joining packet" and have not yet joined the program, please think about it again as we WILL have plenty of "over spill!" Don't miss out on this opportunity....  Also, don't forget, if you run into a question that's not covered in your "joining packet", check on line here: The Answer Page
If your question is not covered there, email me. I'll then put your question up on the Answer Page to help others. I know much of the above is a repeat from last week but it is very important that you read it especially if you were a member of our Pre-Launch program.
************************************
I got a lot of circular printing done yesterday and still have a bit more to do. Then I'll be writing, pasting up, and printing a new Chuck's Mail Order News & Opportunities magazine/newsletter for mailing first class and bulk mail. That will take some time. I'm trying to finish that before the end of the month "stuff" for the Once A Month Association is due to be completed. Hopefully we'll make the deadline.
*************************************
Betty's son John is at this moment back down in Philadelphia getting more tests done to see how his new liver is doing...  His recovery since he received his liver has been nothing less than amazing!
At his worst his weight had slipped down to only 126 pounds and he's already back up to 183 pounds! He's really looking good!
They went down to Philadelphia on the train early this morning so Betty & I may have to pick them up at the train station this afternoon.
Talk about a full day!!!!
**************************************
Well, with all of the above "chores" in mind, for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Monday!!!

T.G.I.F.
It's another gorgeous, sunny, cool morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania. Looks like we're blessed with one more wonderful day before the humidity sets back in for over the weekend.
I'm sure you're ready for a nice relaxing weekend. I know I am but I'll probably be working some of mine as I lost a whole day of work yesterday.
**********************************
I mentioned yesterday that I had to go to the hospital for some "out patient" work. I was supposed to get an, are you ready for this, ESOPHAGOGASTRODUODENOSCOPY (EGD) for short). What it actually is the doctor puts a device down my throat into my esophagus and checks to see if there are any blood vessels that are actually varicose veins on it. Yep varicose veins just like some people get on their legs.. Apparently you can get them on the inside of your esophagus and if they get large and burst, you bleed to death.
If the doctor finds any he "bands" them with like a rubber band and within a week or so they just harmlessly fall off.
I've had this procedure done about 5 times and each time he's had to band some. I kind of had my fingers crossed that yesterday he would find none.
Well he did find one and banded it. Then when I came out of the anesthesia I found that I had to get a transfusion of "platelets". These are things in the blood to make blood clot. The normal platelet count is about 125,000 to 300,000 mine was 25. Yep, not 25,000 or even 250 but just 25...  It took about an hour and a half for that procedure and then I got the okay to head home....
When I had this procedure done before I had some pain but could still swallow etc.  I don't know what happened this time but I couldn't even swallow water yesterday without a lot of pain. I'm supposed to eat just liquids for a couple of days and then soft food..  I can swallow some this morning but not without pain....  I'm miserable and hungry....  What a "revoltin'" development!
Oh well......  it's a bitch trying to stay alive...
************************************
Needless to say I didn't get anything done here in the office when I got back home yesterday so things have really backed up....  I'll be working on a lot of "stuff" to get caught up today and must get a lot of printing jobs done for myself and some customers...  Hopefully I'll feel better as the day progresses....  At least that's the plan....
************************************
I'm receiving lots of applications from the Pre-Launch program for the Elements business. If you have received your "joining packet" and have not joined the program please think about it again as we WILL have plenty of "over spill!" Thursday, August 25, 2005

It's another beautiful, sunny, cool morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania. Looks like this is our last "low humidity" day as the weather folks are calling for more humidity to set in by tomorrow and still hang around for the weekend.
*********************************
Betty and I got some yard work done yesterday. Betty did most of it but I did get a small tree cut down by the river that I've been wanting to "whack" down for about 3 years... This is the first time the river actually got low enough to be able to get to it with a chain saw.
**********************************
We went out and ate at our favorite Chinese Restaurant, PA Grand Buffet, yesterday as today I must go to the hospital for some "out patient" work on my esophagus and I probably will not be able to eat anything other than fluids for several days. I thought I'd get a good meal in to last me until I can get back on solid food!
Boy it's tough trying to stay alive!
**********************************
Did you ever notice that the weirder people look the more you must look at them? Say you're eating in a restaurant and the weird person is within sight of you. You keep finding yourself looking at them. Then you consciously move your eyes to something else because you don't want to be caught "in the act." Caught in the act of doing what? It's not your fault they look weird... No, you can't help that not only are they weird looking, but they even wear weird clothing drawing attention to their weirdness! What's the matter with them? Do you suppose that's why you just can't stop "staring" at them. Finally then if you are caught, and caught by them, they may say, "What's your problem buddy?" Heck I don't have a problem you're the one that's weird looking. That's why I'm staring at you, I just can't believe the way you look! No, I wouldn't say that, but you know if you think of it, that is the truth...
I don't know what got me started on that..... Just one of my observations gone awry, that's all.
***********************************
I won't get much done here in the office until this afternoon when I get back home and it all depends how I feel just how much I'll be able to get done. I will print circulars most of tomorrow as I am running a few days behind on that....  That's one thing we don't lack around here, things that need to be done!
***********************************
With the above in mind, it's back to work for me.... at least for a little while anyway, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Wednesday, August 24, 2005

It's another beautiful, sunny, cool morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania. It's supposed to stay nice, like this, until Thursday when some more humidity will set back in. Right now, I'm going to enjoy it.
Last night I took the time to tie up my tomato plants up to the stakes. Betty decided yesterday afternoon instead of trimming the hedge that she would go to the laundry in Dauphin and do our laundry. I guess that was more important than the hedge. I think she may get to the hedge job today.
I did get plenty done yesterday but I didn't get any printing done at all so that's my priority today.
I had a nice conversation with Jeff Charlton, owner of my favorite MLM program, Elements, yesterday morning. I called to let him know how I was doing with our sign-ups from the Pre-Launch program for the Elements business.
We had quite a few applications show up in my mail box and several that was faxed to me so far and we still have over a week left. I'm still looking forward to a LARGE sign-up from the program. There will be plenty of overspill as the program starts at only 2 wide.  The Elements compensation and the matrix structure  are explained more thoroughly right here. This will give you an idea just how a matrix system works and why I get so excited when I talk about it. Especially when I'm promoting a program that has one of the best! You'll see that once I have 2 in my first level, which I already have, EVERYONE else that signs up under me will be "overspill" for someone in my downline. They will receive a "paying" member from my efforts that THEY will receive commissions from! Yes, I'll get commissions also but so will they and I signed them! That's about the neatest way to "grow" a monthly income that I can even think of.  The conception is wonderful, but being in the actual system and making a monthly check is almost impossible to describe. Working the program and interesting others in a monthly check of their own is all I do to make my check grow each and every month! I don't have to stock any products, write any kind of monthly newsletter, develop new promotional material, or do any kind of monthly mailings as my company, Elements, does all that for me. All I have to do is keep getting more people to sign up and build THEIR own monthly commission checks! Talk about a GREAT business!
Even if I have a month where I sign up no one usually my check still gets larger because someone or several people in my downline will sign up new "associates" and I will begin to receive commissions from their efforts.
Yep, this is just about the greatest way to "hustle a buck" that I've ever been exposed to.
Go to this site, Elements, and check out everything on the site.  See if it gets you at least a little bit excited......  It just may instill you to get into my downline and begin your own journey to a nice monthly income. Just email me for any information that you may want or any kind of applications, brochures or what ever.
Even if don't you'll realize how a good MLM company operates right now, or think it's just not "your cup of tea", it may interest you some day to get involved in another similar business. There are quite a few to choose from..
The main thing that you must be careful to do is associate yourself with a company that is on the "up & up, and one that will be around for a long time. You don't want to promote one and then later find that they went out of business.
The monthly purchase is usually a mere pittance compared to the money that you can invest in promoting the company!
You'll want to take the advice of someone who not only will give you the honest "dope" on a program, and doing well themselves, but also you'll want to join under somebody who will help YOU build YOUR own business!!!
With the cost of gasoline these days, I think we should all have an extra income check coming in!
****************************************
I don't know about where you live but most all the gas stations around here are getting around $2.50 a gallon.
It's getting so bad more people are stealing gasoline. Some asshole in Montgomery, Alabama left the gas pumps without paying and ran over and killed the poor guy that owned the station in the process! Check here for the story. Gasoline Pumps Killing!
I don't know what it's coming to but I do think our government should address the problem BEFORE it gets out of hand anymore than it already is...
I still say that the oil companies should be "regulated" just like the Electric and Utility companies are.
The price of gas varies too much from place to place to blame it all on a "false" oil shortage... It just doesn't make sense...  More about this on a later post...
******************************************
Time is marching on and that means I'd better get my butt back to work, so for me it's back to the "old grindstone", and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Wednesday!!!

Tuesday, August 23, 2005

It's another beautiful, sunny, chilly morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania! The humidity has taken a "nose dive" and it really is a lot more comfortable. Nice and warm during the days and nice and cool at night... The perfect weather. At least for me that is.
It sure it a beautiful day to get some out side work done and I think that Betty is going out to trim the hedge today some time. Maybe later on I can grab some time to go out and get a few things done that I've been putting off.
I'll be doing a lot of circular printing today as I've been getting quite a few Print & Mail orders lately. As soon as I get the printing done I'll be working on writing and editing another 4 to 8 pages or so for my Small magazine/newsletter, Chuck's Mail Order News & Opportunities.
That along with all of the applications coming in for the $2 Bucks for Success downline builder for the Tape Of The Month program, and the Pre-Launch
program for the Elements business program. Also, over the weekend, I received several applications by FAX for the Pre-Launch program for the Elements business program, we'll be "super" busy around here for most of this week.
Come to think of it I guess I'll get a break on Thursday as I have an appointment at the hospital for an out patient procedure. If you want to call that (a break). It's called, are you ready for this, Esophagogastroduodenoscopy or (EGD), an Upper Endoscopy Examination.) It's where they put some kind of apparatus, (a big apparatus), down your throat to have a look at the inside of your esophagus. If there are any large blood vessels in there that shouldn't be, they place a "band" around them. Then after a while they just "fall off".... I've had it done about 4 or 5 times so far and every time the doctor had to "band" some. When they band them, you are only allowed to subsist on liquid food for several days until they heal up some.
Oh, I forgot to mention it hurts like heck for a few days as well. I'm hoping, (at least I have my fingers crossed), that this time he won't find any that need banded.  It may be too much to hope but I've got to look at the bright side.
Still that shouldn't keep me from getting ANY work done on Thursday. Like I said it's an "out patient" deal. Although when I usually get home from one of them, I'm not that peppy, but I do manage to get some "stuff" done...
That gives me plenty of time, two days here, to get a "bunch" of work done.... and believe me I have plenty of that plus what I mentioned above about getting the magazine done and all of the printing done. After that we'll be able to assemble a bulk mail and get out some checking copies as well....
*************************************
In the meantime, maybe I can do some of my work out on the back deck today to take advantage of this beautiful weather..  It's not too often that we get perfect weather like this, that's for sure. I know at least I can take my laptop out there to write some articles for my magazine/newsletter..... Chuck's Mail Order News & Opportunities.
The river is so calm now that it's pretty low on water flow. Just by watching it, it's so soothing that it can put you right to sleep. I'll have to keep moving out there as it wouldn't take much to put me to sleep. I didn't sleep that well last night....
************************************
With everything in mind, for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

Monday, August 22, 2005

It's a beautiful, sunny, cool morning here in Central Pennsylvania. We had a very hot and humid weekend but now it seems overnight we lost a lot of the humidity. Although it's supposed to go to 84 degrees today it's going to be a pleasant one.
I know I got my tomatoes planted very late this year but I did think that I'd have some tomatoes long before this. Heck today is the 22 of August already and although I have lots and lots of green tomatoes, and some pretty big, not one has begun to turn red as of yet..  They'd better soon start coming in as Fall begins next month and the whole tomato patch will be gone for this summer... I've got my fingers crossed that this week will be the charm and we'll be eating some good, home grown tomatoes before the end of this week.  (I guess I'd better cross my legs too!)
The giant Susquehanna river that flows through our back yard is down pretty low lately and a lot of rocks are showing through...  Very few fishing boats were out on the river over the weekend but that may have been because of the heat as well. It WAS really hot and I can only imagine being out on the river without any shade, it must have been brutal.. We did see some kayak and canoe trips going down the river... I guess it never gets too low for the "people powered" craft.
**********************************
I'm really looking forward to going to the post office today. Entries started to arrive on Saturday for both of our downline builders, the $2 Bucks for Success downline builder for the Tape Of The Month program, and the Pre-Launch
program for the Elements business program. Also, over the weekend, I received several applications by FAX for the Pre-Launch program for the Elements business program. Today's mail, being a Monday, is always big, but coupled with the applications coming in, it should be a "Jim Dandy!"
I'm REALLY looking forward to the end of this month to see just how many folks joined both of the programs.
**********************************
If you have an Apple computer I'm sure you have heard of the Widgets programs that run on your computer. They are just small programs, hundreds of them that you can use to spruce up your computer to make it easier on you. Well now they have the same thing for Windows computers!
Konfabulator will bring widgets to your desktop. So whether you use Mac or Windows, there’s a download here for you.
First, download the free software, then choose your widgets. There are more than 1,000. Some are serious, while others are whimsical like the typing speedometer! I zoom!
***********************************
I didn't get everything caught up over the weekend like I'd hoped I would, so for me, right now, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

T.G.I.F.
It's raining here in Central Pennsylvania and it's supposed to continue to rain throughout the day.
That's okay with me as I took last evening and finished mowing the yard. They've been calling for rain today for the last few days so I thought I'd better get it done while I could.
We do need the rain as it's been pretty dry and hot around here for the last several weeks. I knew we needed it, so just to make sure that it did rain today, I carried water down to the lower 40 last night and watered my tomato plants..  I knew that if I watered them it would surely rain. Betty said she got up about 4 AM for a trip to the bathroom and it was pouring outside. Bingo! It never fails...... if you want it to rain, either wash the car or water the grass or garden, result, instant rain!
We had FREE passes for a movie preview last evening in Harrisburg and had planned to go until all these problems with our Jeep. We were running around most of the week trying to get the Jeep worked on etc. You can call the Garage all you want, and they'll just ignore you, but if you go see them "face to face" they get tired of seeing you and actually do something to fix your car.
So we figured we'd better stay home last evening. If I wouldn't have stayed home I never would have finished mowing the grass so maybe it's good that we missed the preview.
**************************************
I've been printing a lot of circulars lately for customers who have ordered Print & Mail because I'm trying to get another bulk mail together. Hopefully by early to mid next week we should have one ready to go.
Preparing a bulk mailing takes a lot of time and thank goodness I have Betty here to help prepare them. If I had to do it all myself I'd never get any sleep as I'd have to work around the clock.
This is the time of the year that my type of business picks up and I can see it by the orders already. Folks are done with their vacations and are starting to concentrate on their home business "money makers."
Boy, this year we'd all better start concentrating on making extra money from home if we want to keep our vehicles on the road! The gasoline prices are outrageous!!!  And that's an understatement!!!
I'm half afraid NOT to buy gas when we go anywhere because until we get out again the prices are probably going to be even higher!!
The last spurt was about 20˘ a gallon in about a 2 week period! So lately I've been keeping our tank full.
I remember a few years ago, (at least it doesn't seem that long ago), I was sure that I would NEVER see gasoline prices in the one dollar range in my lifetime. Geez, now they're between $2 and $3 a gallon! Wow! You have to pinch yourself from time to time... Personally, I've been hoping that this is all a dream and I'm going to wake up pretty soon and just have a good laugh......  At least I've got my fingers crossed.

Now that we're approaching September, entries have picked up considerably for the 3 - Bucks for Success downline builder for the Tape Of The Month program.  I received 4 more new members just yesterday. Plus, a re-enlist for Phase IX from a regular member. I think this is going to be our best Phase of this year for building downlines in the program.
*************************************
Well, I have a "ton" of "stuff" to get done before my weekend begins, so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

It's another beautiful, sunny, cool morning here in Central Pennsylvania. I think this will be our last real nice day for awhile as they, the weather folks, are calling for hot, humid weather to set back in by tomorrow for this weekend.... Sooooo I guess we'll just have to enjoy it today, while we have it.
**********************************
We have our Jeep back home! Finally!!!!  They finally finished it yesterday afternoon and thanks to Betty's son, John, we picked it up about 4 PM.
Thank goodness as I was afraid to let it there any longer. Monday they said it needed a fuel pump, (which it didn't), and the bill would be approximately $350. Tuesday they said it needed a computer and the bill would be approximately $530, and yesterday they then said that in addition to the computer, it needed a "crankshaft" sensor, (I don't know what it is either), and the bill finally ended up being $842.73!!! Another day or two and I think we'd end up taking out a loan on the house!!!
At any rate it's back in our driveway and it actually does run. We are now, officially, not a burden on Betty's son John anymore. All this week we had the poor guy running us everywhere including the car dealership. He told me yesterday he was worn out....  I guess so.....  (John's still recovering from a liver transplant of just a couple of months ago!)
Now that the Jeep's running again, it needs serviced, oil change, lube, etc., and I think I'll have to get a set of tires for it before winter...
Talk about big bills.... It's that time of the year again that we must order coal for the winter. With the rise in gas prices, I'm half afraid to call the coal man to see how much coal is because it seems every time that gas and oil prices go up, they raise the price of coal as well....
Looks like with all of these expenses lately, I'm going to have to expand my home business and work a little harder to cover them....  At least I have that option. A lot of folks, those on fixed incomes from retirement and Social Security, and those even working regular jobs must live within of their weekly or monthly wages... They have no choice. So when gasoline jumps from $1.75 a gallon to over $2.50 a gallon in just a couple of months they are really hurting just buying gas to get to work!
Maybe you should start thinking of building a "residual" income so when "stuff" happens that you have absolutely no control over, you'll have a "money cushion" to "tide" you through times such as these.
Look around this site and you'll find several "work at home" plans that you can use to build an extra monthly income with just a few hours of "part time" work each week right from your own home... Also check out my home site, www.homebucks.com for even more.
**************************************
Although we did get pretty much done this week, I have been letting some "stuff" slide, you know, orders and inquiries, some pages to up load to the WEB because I've been worried about our Jeep and trying to get things done with a chauffeur.
I have several "piles" of things on my desks to get caught up with that I'm hoping I'll get done today...  Sooooooo.... for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Thursday!!!

It's a sunny morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania and it's starting out nice and cool.  A very nice change from what we've been having.
I got my computers squared away, finally by about 8 PM last night. Other than the time I was on my way down to get our Jeep I thought was finished, I spent all of yesterday working on them..
I found out it all "stemmed" from my putting Norton Anti Virus into one of them day before yesterday.  My subscription had run out and I WAS going to change to McAfee because I'm "sick & tired" of Norton "taking over" my computers. John, Betty's son, had bought a copy of the new Norton and it had one more install left on it. (You can install it on 3 computers and then it shuts down.) So the subscription ran out on Sunday and Monday John brought it up and I put it in and forgot about it.
It went in just fine and updated itself, etc. Then last evening I realized that I couldn't access the hard drive on that computer with either of the other two that are networked to it. At first I thought the problem was with my main computer that I was using and began checking everything on it but later found out I couldn't access it with my laptop either.
After a lot of checking I found out that the computer that I couldn't access would "hook up" with the other two and it could read their "shared" drives but the other two could not "connect" with it. That's when I realized that the problem was actually with that computer. So I tried to "reload" an earlier date on it when it was working properly.. I tried that with 5 different dates. I wouldn't "take" any of them. (I didn't know it at the time but the Norton program was preventing the operation from being a success.)
After I came back in the afternoon I "played" with it another hour or so it finally hit me that all the trouble started since I installed the new version of Norton!  By then, I had it, and just took Norton off the computer. I then reloaded a back up date, (without Norton), the reload was a success and everything was as it was BEFORE I put the new version of Norton in it! What a waste of time!!!!!
If any of your computers start to act "funny", (and I don't mean ha ha funny), check your virus program...  Or just sit down and think if you've put any new programs into your computer lately.  It could save you a lot of time!!!!  That's for sure....
****************************************
I went down to pick up the Jeep that's been at the dealership since Saturday.. Yesterday they said it was a bad fuel pump and would cost about $350.... Today they changed their minds and said it was a computer that would cost over $700 without labor!  They said they'd have to order it from a place in New Jersey and they wouldn't have it until Friday! I asked the Service Man if he every heard of UPS overnight service..  He said he'd check and called me back to say that they'd have it tomorrow, (which of course is today), and hopefully it would be done today!  I've got my fingers crossed.... You don't realize how lost you are without your car until you don't have it anymore....
Thank goodness Betty's son John is well enough to chauffer us around as he took us yesterday for medicine etc...  and if the Jeep's done, he'll take us today to pick it up...
I hope they don't call again today to tell me it needs something else even more expensive!!!! Or that it won't be finished again.....  I'll be glad to get it back...
When your health's as bad as mine, the car's kind of an insurance policy... it's out there if I must go to the doctor or hospital...  Now that it's not here, I kind of have an uncomfortable feeling!  Or well, this too shall pass.....
*****************************************
Betty and I worked on Monday until about 11 PM to get all the sign-up packages put together and stamped to mail out and yesterday, thanks to John, I got to the post office and mailed them all..  Some went out on Monday morning and the rest yesterday. These are the "sign-up" packages for our Pre-Launch
program for the Elements business program. So if you're a member, you should see your package within a couple of days.
*******************************************
I have a ton of "stuff" to get done before I can pick up the Jeep today and get to the post office so, for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!!

It's a cloudy, rainy, but cooler day here in Central Pennsylvania today.
What a day! Yesterday we got a ride down to the garage that's had our Jeep since Saturday to see if it was ready for pick up and they hadn't even looked at it yet..  They finally got it in and said it was the fuel pump and wouldn't be done until today. They just called and said that now it may be something else and it might not be done today either. If it's the computer he said he'd have to order it as they don't have it in stock.
I got up this morning and have nothing but problems with my computers..  All will network with each other except I can't access the computer that holds most of the information with either of the other two..
I've been working on these computers most of the day and it's now afternoon.
I did find a way to pull this page down from the site to edit so that's how I'm getting this up to the Internet..
However, now time is out as John is here and he's going to take us out to pick up medicine etc.... So.... this is going to be a shot post today. Sorry about that...
At any rate, I didn't even get a joke sheet done for today. Hopefully by tomorrow I'll have things back in shape including this post....
Sorry again.....  As of now I'll have to close so YOU have a GREAT Tuesday....

It's a beautiful, sunny morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania and it's actually very nice out as the humidity has dropped a good deal since yesterday! I think they, the weather folks, call it a cold front moving in from Canada.. Apparently the "cold front" wasn't supposed to show up until tomorrow, but arriving today is just fine with me!
It's been so darn hot and humid around here for the last couple of weeks we've been staying in the the air conditioned office and house. We've got nothing done in the yard for a couple of weeks, and it sure does look it!
Hopefully I'll get some time later today to get some mowing done.
On Friday afternoon long after I put up Friday's post here, I went out to the Jeep to go to the post office and apparently the Jeep wanted a break as it wouldn't start! After I did some checking, I determined that it was not getting fuel..  That's about my extent. Although I was an auto mechanic for years, the Jeep has "fuel injection" which I know nothing about. Also, something really weird is that when I turned on the key, the fuel tank gauge never moved even though on the way home Thursday I had filled the tank. Actually, I keep track of the mileage by setting the trip meter every time I fill up so it actually had only 15 miles on it since the fill up...
After all that I came in to call the dealer to see if they could "check it out" for me. Apparently I had waited too long as they closed at 5PM and by then it was 5 of 5. I got up early on Saturday morning and checked a couple of more things that I had thought of over night and then called the dealer. Of course, being Saturday and as they were only open until 1PM on Saturday, they were really swamped. I asked them when they thought they could make a "service call" to see if they could determine just what was wrong with my Jeep. Apparently since I had car trouble before, (quite a few years), they had "stopped" making Service Calls! They just have your car towed in to their garage and they only work on it in their shop!
Wow! Now the car dealers don't come to your home anymore... First the doctors quit making house calls and now the automobile mechanics? I was really surprised! Oh well....  The guy in the service department said the wreaker service they used was usually "tied up" in the morning so I suggested that I call a wrecker service, here in Dauphin, to have it towed to their garage in Harrisburg.  That suited him just fine, he said, so I raced to get in touch with the wrecker service. They had to call a man from home to go to their garage and pick up a wrecker to come and get our Jeep...  Wow, I thought, this is going to cost me a fortune as I have no towing service insurance...
The man showed up in about 45 minutes after calling me from his cell phone for directions. I had asked the lady who took the call approximately how much it would cost to have it towed and she said the man would let me know and I'd have to pay, up front, after he hooked up to it. Now, I just knew it would cost an "arm and a leg"....
He was picking it up here and the dealership is in Harrisburg about 15 to 20 miles from here and he had come from another town to even get here...
I helped him get the Jeep up on a "roll back" wrecker and he then told me the cost he'd need to take it away.
You'll never be able to guess the cost! ONLY 40 bucks!  I almost had another heart attack! The young fellow, Byron, was his name, must have felt pretty good to give me such a low price.  I remember about 15 years ago a truck we owned broke down about 1 mile from our house and the guy only came from Dauphin, a different towing service, about a mile from here to pick up it and bring it here and he charged over 60 bucks so you can imagine how surprised I was when Byron told me $40!!!  Heck with the cost of gasoline these days it must have cost him $10 or $15 just for that!!!
Anyway that's the up side....  I can't believe the Jeep. I filled it with gas and stopped and started it 4 times on the way home, shut off the engine and everything was working and running just fine and the next day it just wouldn't start. I called down to the Dealership this morning and the guy in Service said they never got to it on Saturday but would probably get it in the shop within the next 2 hours to determine just what was wrong with it...
I've got my fingers crossed....  Thank goodness Betty's son John, who received the new liver just a couple of months ago, is well enough to take me to the post office on Saturday and will come today to drive us around and hopefully take us to pick up the Jeep!
******************************************
As we, Betty and I, were kind of "trapped" here over the weekend we did get a lot done..  We got all of the "joining packets" for the $
2=SUCCESS downline builder for the Tape Of The Month business done and ready to drop in the mail today.
I got all of the "stuff" designed and printed for the Pre-Launch
program for the Elements business and even got all of the "downline statements" printed for it. We still must assemble all of the packets today. It will probably take all of today as there are several hundred of them... (A lot!)
I should be mailing those tomorrow!  Some may go out this afternoon.... actually it all depends on how soon our Jeep gets done...
******************************************
Well, with everything that's happening and all that must be done in my small home office today, for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Monday!!!!

T.G.I.F.
It's another sunny but VERY humid morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania. I went out to get the paper and bring in the garbage cans and the air is so full of moisture that it seems almost like I was "swimming" through the air! It's going to be a VERY uncomfortable day and according to the weather folks a very uncomfortable weekend as well!
Looks like I'll be here in the office most of this weekend not just because of the weather but also I'm running behind getting my "sign-up" packages together for the 2 downline building programs that ended on July 31st. Kits for the $
2=SUCCESS downline builder for the Tape Of The Month business and also for our Pre-Launch program for the Elements business. It takes a lot of time designing applications, writing newsletters and of course running statements. I hope to have better news on Monday morning. I must get this "stuff' out so folks have time to sign up into the main programs BEFORE the end of this month. I have "hammered" out some great offers from Jeff Charlton, owner of the Elements program for the folks that will be joining through the Pre-Launch program that will make a lot of folks happy. I wish I would have had these benefits when I first joined...  Oh well, I'll have to wait and see how many folks have the good sense to take advantage of them.
***********************************
I'm still fighting to get all of the grass mowed. Last week I did get the grass mowed on the "lower forty" down by the river and thought that I would finish the rest of the yard in a few days. I've been waiting on some cooler weather, but the cooler weather never came and now it needs mowed yet AGAIN down my the river...
I have no idea when this heat spell will break here in Central Pennsylvania, but I sure hope it's pretty darn soon. It's just too darn hot to get out doors to do anything.
I saw two squirrels when I went out to get the paper this morning. That's the first squirrels I've seen in the last 2 months. There's been plenty of rabbits around, lot's of them, but the squirrels kind of disappeared for awhile. Makes me wonder where the heck they've been hanging out. I've never hear of squirrels "holding up" in the Summer time....  If you've got any ideas, Email me...
**********************************
As the picture shows, that I posted on yesterday, the river is getting lower and lower.. It looks even lower this morning than it did yesterday.  I doubt we'll see much action on the river over this weekend.. Probably some canoe and kayak trips as this is a good time for that kind of craft. There has been a couple of air boats going up and down the river lately and one of them looks like it might be a "home made" job. Not that it's not nice looking as it really is but I've just never seen one quite like it before. For an air boat it's really quiet as well. But the unusual thing is how fast it goes... I've never seen a boat around here go that fast..  When it goes by I'd swear it's doing at least 60mph. It makes me wonder how they are maneuvering around all of the rocks that are starting to show though the river.
(Maybe they're just "sailing over" them!) It sure is a sight. I tried to get a picture of it a couple of times that I had my camera with me out on the deck, but till I pick up the camera and take the lens cap off, the darn boat has already went by and is way up, or down, the river!!!
If the driver ever slows up enough or stops near us to fish, I'll get that picture and put it up here..
**********************************
This is going to be one busy weekend around here in my home office, so for me I'd better get back to work and YOU, YOU have a GREAT weekend!!!

It's yet another summer day that I can truly say has the 3 H's again, hazy, hot, and humid, here again in Central Pennsylvania. It's supposed to be another uncomfortable day here at the Blue Bird Cottage with temperatures soaring once again into the 90s! As I mentioned yesterday, the Susquehanna River, that runs through our back yard, is getting shallower and shallower...  and lots of rocks jutting up out of the water.
I went out this morning in our back yard and snapped a couple of pictures of it and posted the one to the left.
As you can see from this shot, not only are the rocks showing themselves, but the mountain in the background is a bit blurry. No, this isn't the camera's fault, it's just so darn humid with so much moisture in the air, it shows as "hazy" when you look at a distance...  Like I said, hazy, hot & humid!
Even though the water is low, and the speed of the flow is really slow and quite calm, the mighty river is far from a trickle!
Even with all of my complaining, I wouldn't want to live anywhere else, that's for sure...
Not even on a bet!
Section for Mail order, MLM, and Home Business Owners or just wanna-bees ......
As I've been mentioning since the 1st of this month, in this post that I've been working on "sign-up" kits for the $
2=SUCCESS downline builder for the Tape Of The Month business and also for our Pre-Launch program for the Elements business. I've just about got them both to the point where I can start "running" statements.
I've also finally finished the new circular for the $
2=SUCCESS downline builder. I have re-designed the circular and turned it into a $3 program as I wanted to make the promotional package better and give our members more "stuff" to work with when promoting the Opportunity. It's now called 3 Bucks = Success!
It's literally the same program with the only difference being that the promotional kit I mail out with the program circular will contain more and be, in general, a much better kit. It will now contain, in addition to a custom 8˝ X 11" circular with their name and ID number already typeset on it, smaller customized ads, and even have 30 leads on labels to get them off to a good start!
I'll be working on the "sign-up" kits today along with the usual "work" coming in the mail. So for me, it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Thursday!!!

Wednesday, August 10, 2005

It's a beautiful, sunny morning here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania and the weather people say we're in for another hot and humid day. (So what's new?)
The mighty Susquehanna River, that runs through our back yard, is getting shallower and shallower...  Lot's of rocks jutting up out of the water...
It won't stop ALL of the activity on the river but it will curtail the use of the larger water craft. We'll sure not see any pontoon boats for quite awhile out there. It's still fun to watch all of the wildlife on the river... It's like another world out there.
I'll see if I can get a picture of the river today and post it up here tomorrow.. You'll see how low the water level has become.
I didn't get much sleep last night as I just couldn't go to sleep. I did finally go to bed at about 3:30 this morning and got to sleep. I woke up with my phone ringing.... Not knowing what time it was as Betty was sleeping as well, I jumped out of bed and ran through the living room, dining room, and into the office to grab the phone. It was a lady from my GP doctor's office for me to make an appointment with the doctor 4 weeks from now and a message from the Doctor that, until then, increase my insulin dosage 2 units a week.
That was fine and I thanked her and hung up and got my eyes adjusted to the point that I could read the clock. It was 10 minutes after 7 AM!
I know my doctor's office opens early in the morning as I've already had some early appointments, however, don't you think they'd have the sense to at least wait until later in the morning to call patients for appointment making? That's just plain ignorant! The appointment is for 4 weeks from now, I don't think there would have been a noticeable difference if she had made the appointment at 8 or 9 AM.
I guess I should feel lucky. I don't know how it is with your doctor but I swear mine must be turning into a GOD as it's THAT hard to talk to him or to see him about anything.
Three weeks ago he adjusted my insulin dosage and told me to drop him off a note, fax it to him or call it in how my sugar average was in that 3 weeks. I know they NEVER give him messages in a reasonable amount of time so I typed up the letter, placed it in an envelope with all the pertinent information in it and took the time and trouble to "drop" it off at his office and ask one of the receptionists to please give it to the Doctor. That was last Friday. Here it is Wednesday morning and he is finally getting back with me....  I don't think he even received the note until this morning. I'm glad it wasn't an emergency, that's for sure! Here lately I think we have to make an appointment to get an appointment with the doctor! It's getting that bad...
Brings back memories of when I was a kid.... Yeah, I know, here we go again. Back then if you were sick the doctor actually came to your house to visit you. After all you were sick and he thought it was a bad idea for you to go outdoors and travel to his house! Come to think about it, he was right!
Yes, I know those days are gone and will NEVER return.....
****************************************
I received another large amount of mail yesterday.... No, I'm sure not complaining but I am REALLY running behind trying to get caught up a little so it looks like I'm in for another long, long day....  If you need to phone me for anything please make it before 9 PM eastern daylight saving time as after 9 I don't answer the phone. I figure I'm working that late to get caught up and I sure can't get caught up if I'm talking on the phone. If you let a message though I WILL get back to your the next morning..
Well, as I mentioned lots to do today so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!!!

There's no sun today, just hazy, hot and humid here at the Blue Bird Cottage in Central Pennsylvania. As far as I know it's supposed to stay this way with chance of showers until Thursday. Oh well, August is here and this is August.
*************************************
Yesterday was a GREAT day for my daily mail in some ways and a real bummer in another. I received a lot of orders and inquiries as well as two large envelopes, stuffed with forms from the IRS.... It seems I made a mistake on my returns for 2003 AND 2004 and must do them all over again. Boy, the income tax "stuff" is getting harder and harder instead of simpler. No wonder they won't go to a flat tax, like 10% on everyone. Not just the obvious like a flat 10% would mean even the very large companies, like the huge oil companies that haven't paid any income tax for years would actually have to "cough" up their share, but it would also put a lot of folks out of jobs including government workers!!!
If your income tax was a flat 10% everyone could do their own taxes. If you made 50 grand, your taxes would be $5,000 period! No "loop holes" or deductions or anything... Just a flat 10%. We would have to start the income tax at the a certain that very poor people would pay nothing. I don't know what that would be right now but say it's $8,000 dollars. If you made $8,000 or less you would not have to pay any income tax but anything above that would be a flat 10%.
Do you think the government would be losing money? NO they wouldn't. There are large companies, and there's a lot of them now, that pay no tax or very little tax. These companies would then have to pay their fair share... Say they made 700 million dollars last year...
They would now owe $70,000,000, (70 million, their fair share.) Many of these companies together would more than take up the slack of making middle Americans paying the entire bill!  Now that would be a REAL tax break! Not the crap they dole out now.....
The money that the large corporations pay for our Senator's and Representatives to take their families on "junkets" all over the world every year, (excuse me, in our language we call it 'kick-backs'), is very small or almost nothing compared to what it would cost them if they were actually made to pay ANY income tax! Actually their expenses for these "junkets" to the average people like us would be like coffee money in our pocket!
I know I'll never see a flat tax and the demise of the Income Tax Bureau in my lifetime but I'm sure our younger generations coming along will almost surely get tired of the unfairness of the present system and begin to refine it...  You know my cure.... Get rid of 'em all down there in Washington and put all new people in. I think that if they actually knew if they didn't do OUR bidding, they WOULD lose their cushy jobs, they would get off their butts and do some real refining of the laws to make them again, fair for everyone in our great country!
We revolted against an entire country, (England), because they had the audacity to tax us on tea! Now we work over have of every year, every year, to pay taxes on everything except tea, and we even pay on it now if we buy it in a restaurant!
I would really enjoy seeing "Real" tax reform......  but at the moment, I see NO light at the end of the tunnel at all.

That aside, and looking like it's going to cost me even more for income taxes, I guess I'd better get my butt back to work..  and YOU, YOU have a GREAT Tuesday!!!

The Beginning of a brand new week!
It's a bit on the hazy side here this morning. It's supposed to get hot and humid again. We did have a break from the heat and the humidity over the weekend and that was great.
It's been too darn hot and humid to even eat breakfast out on the deck lately. Yesterday though we even ate supper out there and really enjoyed watching the canoe and kayak trips going down the river...
The river's a bit low so we didn't see that many large boats on the river but there were plenty of smaller bass boats..
We had a visit Betty's grandson, Mike from up state Pennsylvania , yesterday. He's the Chief of police up in Knoxville, Pennsylvania. Click here for a picture of Mike and his police car.
Mike and his family were on their way back home from the New Jersey shore, Wildwood. They were down for the week and they all had a beautiful tan including Mike's wife Missy, and his daughter little Brianna.
They all looked nice and healthy but they also indicated it will be nice to get back home.... They have a heck of a drive yet from our place, but as fast as Mike drives they'll be there a half of an hour earlier than it would take Betty and I to drive it.....
We watched the movie, Constantine, (2005) starring Keanu Reeves last evening. I thought it was GREAT but Betty didn't like it at all.... It was a bit TOO weird for her. I just love the "special effects" as they make everything look so real..  If you don't like a lot of surprises, stay away from this one....  Never a dull moment..  Of course if you like a lot of action, and you're not afraid of a little weird stuff, then this one's "right up your alley!"
I also got the lower forty, down along the river mowed on Saturday evening and got my tomatoes weeded as well...  It was warm but pretty nice with a nice warm breeze going and little humidity......
Ideal for working outdoors. I'm afraid today though we're back to the 3 H's..... Hazy, Hot, and Humid.... A nice day to be indoors in the air conditioning.
That's where I plan to spend most of my time as I sure have plenty to do and I even have some mail left over from Saturday to tend to.
Also, today being Monday, the mailbox at the post office should pretty much be over-flowing.....

I'll be "over-hauling" and re-doing the circular for our $
2=SUCCESS downline builder for the Tape Of The Month business as we have started Phase IX on 1st of this month. I've been thinking very seriously about even re-naming the downline builder... It will still be close to the old name of  $2=SUCCESS but will have a bit more pizzazz!
I hope to have that done before the end of today and will be posting the link to it on the internet here tomorrow.

Well, I'm starting this week with a lot of work already here to start me off, so for me it's back to work, and YOU, YOU have a GREAT day!

T.G.I.F.
It's a bit on the hazy, cloudy side here this morning in Central Pennsylvania. The weather folks say this afternoon we're going to have some thunder storms that will bring in a little cooler air and drop the humidity some for over the weekend. That's GREAT news as maybe I'll get a chance to mow some grass and bring the yard up-to-date some. It's just been so darn hot I haven't been able to get out into it and get anything done.
I'm really looking forward to getting a lot done this weekend. Also, I hope to get some time for R & R, (rest & relaxation). I rented a couple of movies from our library and hopefully Betty and I will get some time to watch them. One's called Bringing Down The House (2003) with Steve Martin & Queen Latifah. It's supposed to be a comedy and we love comedies and we like Steve Martin as well so hopefully this will be a good one.
The other one is Constantine, (2005) starring Keanu Reeves. This one is supposed to be an action/thriller. Keanu plays a lot of this type of movies and he's usually pretty darn good in them so we're looking forward to seeing this one as well.
This is a good time of the year for movies... Especially for us older folk who can't take the extreme heat from these Summer hot spells. I've hung up my sun tan lotion for my VCR and DVD player....  I still enjoy Summer, a lot, it's the extreme very hot sunny days that I can't tolerate anymore. Mostly because of the heart medicine I take.
Oh well, like I said, I love movies anyway......
If you're looking for a great deal on renting movies, and I've mentioned this here many times but it can stand another mention, our library rents movies for $2 each and you can keep 'em for an entire week! Our library is in Harrisburg, about 20 minutes from where we live here in Dauphin. But because you can keep the movies for so long, we can make just one trip a week there and get enough movies for an entire week! Oh heck, what am I talking about, we're down near the library several times a week as it's only a "hop, skip, and a jump," from our favorite Chinese Restaurant! The Grand Buffet on Allentown Blvd, in the new shopping Center.
Check the library near you. I understand most libraries carry movies for rent or some even load them out for FREE.
Once in awhile we get over to the "West Shore Library" and they have hundreds of movies and you can "borrow" them for FREE! When I get over that way I usually pick some up..  The great thing about this library is, first of all, you get the movie for a whole week but then if you're still not done with it yet, you can renew it "on-line" for yet another week!!!
Your library may even have a better deal than ours.... One thing for sure is that you can't beat the local library for entertainment!
